Quest Gel
QUEST delays reappearance of strongyle eggs for 84 days, permits parasite and bot control with only four treatments per year, kills small strongyles in the encysted state with a single dose, and is formulated as an easy-to-use, clear gel that offers less mess and stress on horses and their owners. QUEST® 2% Equine Oral Gel acts by interfering with chloride channel-mediated neurotransmission in the parasite. This results in paralysis and elimination of the parasite. Moxidectin is safe for use in horses and ponies because it does not have the same injurious effect on the mammalian nervous system.
Quest® (moxidectin) 2% Equine Oral Gel is specially formulated as a palatable gel which is easily administered to horses and ponies. Quest® Gel is packaged in ready-to-use SURE-DIAL® tubes. The tube is calibrated in 50 lb increments, up to 1,150 lb. This enables the administration of the recommended dose level of 0.4 mg moxidectin/kg body weight by choosing a setting consistent with the animal’s weight.

Part of my rotation
As many of us now do, I have my mare's fecal egg count checked and deworm accordingly. Farletta is a "low shedder" and therefore needs deworming just 2-3 times a year. My vet recommends one of the rotations to be Quest. I love that I can have SmartPak send it with Farletta's SmartPak's ... no more running to the farm store!

per vet's instruction
This is the product our vet suggested for our horses this Spring. She keeps track of rotation for us. I would like it better if it dosed larger horses, 1250 pounds or so, but I used leftovers from smaller horses to add to bigger boys' doses. Plunger is comfortable but not as good fit to my hand as some other products I've used.

I have 3 geriatric mares and 1 middle aged mare. Three of them did fine and one was a little bit colicky. After a dose of Banamine, she was back to normal

Reliable product
I have use the Quest gel before. Aside from one of my horses acting like it taste funny, I have had no issues with it. I like that it takes care of encysted strolgyles, since my horses are a closed herd and I do not deworm on a "regular" schedule (aka the "old" way).

Quest is the Best!
Almost all the horses at Hossmoor are on the Quest Worming Program, and have been for years. Because we have grass in our pasture, our turnouts, and all around the facility, it's important that all the horses are on the same program. We love that we only have to keep track four times a year. We use Quest Plus twice a year and Quest twice a year. It's a great wormer because worms don't become resistant to it, and it is very potent.

Absolutely a good wormer
We run a horse operation in Texas and we stable a wide variety of horses. This wormer is a safe wormer for all horses that are involved in a regular worming program. This wormer will show results in a very short time after it is applied. Do not use this wormer on horses that have never been wormed or it has been a long time and they show huge weight loss.

Okay , but the gell was spit out
Not a bad product really. Just my horse decided that he got half of it down and spit out the last of it. He can't do that with paste so I will going back to the paste.

Good taste

Disappointed Quest only doses to 1150 pounds.
Great product and a great price from Smart Pak. It is a shame Fort Dodge dropped the maximum weight per tube to 1,150 pounds. The wormer doesn't smell great, and my horses seem quite offended by the taste. Now that I need to dose with a full tube and a partial second tube for most of my horses, deworming with Quest is more of a chore.
I will be using another product from now on.
