Great addition to my horses plan
I started my OTTB on this last fall and it made such a difference. He is happier, calmer, and generally more willing. It smells like a sweet cereal, does not turn him off from eating.

Was skeptical but my mind has now changed
So my mare sees dead people EVERYWHERE and I am convinced they talk to her as well.. She has a nasty spook, spin, bolt and was almost to the point of unridable. Absolutely no focus on the task at hand and super reactive to her environment. I had tried calmers with Tryptophan but she is one of the few who "goes in the opposite" direction. I tried Smart Calm Ultra, HorseTech calming and De Paolo Equine Tranquility. They made her even more nuts. As a team we were getting nowhere fast.
She is on gut supplements, Vitamin E/Selenium, and a ratio balancer for grass hay. These vitamins and gut supplements made a small difference (they make her look spectacular!), but not enough to be consistent. Started doing more ground work which is helping but still really inconsistent when being ridden. She is so fast that when she spooks, it's really tough to correct her- especially when your hanging off the side. At 60, this is not an acceptable position. So it has been more than frustrating.
About two weeks ago my trainer suggested I try Perfect Prep Harmony (for mares) but nearly choked at the price. When I contacted the company, Susan suggested I try the Training Day powder after discussing the Princess Pea's issues. Went out and purchased 16 day supply and figured- we'll see. Gave the loading dose and she refused to eat it so I managed to mix it into a paste with some rice bran, water, pancake syrup and a tiny bit of sweet feed. She ate it- yeah for me. The company said in four days one will know if it works or it doesn't. Well, here in So Cal, winter decided to arrive and it has been cold (for us) and windy with limited riding time. The first time I went to get on, she showed enough promise for me to go out and purchase another 16 days worth since I had split the first one with a friend who was also having trouble. Tuesday was the first time I was able to really see if the stuff actually works and I was pretty surprised. She had her bucks and kicks on the line but as soon as I put the side reins on- she went to work. More importantly, the dead people have stopped talking to her. Rode her yesterday for the first time in a week and she was the horse I purchased. Calm, focused and willing to work. My trainer is thrilled and now I will have to work on my PTSD from her past actions. We kind of fed on each other's anxiety.
She still hates the straight powder but I have figured out to mix it with Aloe Vera juice, rice bran pellets(unstablized), and a tiny bit of unsweetened apple sauce. All her other supplements are powder so they all get mixed together and go in a baggy with her Timothy pellets (she gets no grain). She is boarded and I just mix the paste into her feed bags so it is easy to feed. It's a pain to do it, BUT, so far, I now have a ridable horse. Yes- it is still expensive but so is a non-ridable barn puff who just eats and looks cute.
Word to the wise-- DO NOT get this stuff on your hands when it's wet, they will be a lovely shade of jade green for days.

Horse won’t eat it, stopped working
Initially, I saw instant results with this feed. My horse went from spooky to calm. But then I switched feeds from a molasses containing mix to one without, and now my horse won’t touch his feed at all. I’ve tried mixing in apples and carrots, but he just doesn’t like the taste. He leaves about half of his feed behind, after he’s pulled out the apples and carrots. I’ve stopped seeing any benefit from the little supplement he may be ingesting.

Very effective
The cooler weather was bringing out some fresh behavior in my relatively green horse. I had a few lessons which were not very productive because of the freshness we were dealing with. He is not a spooky horse in general, so I can't speak to any effect on spookiness, but I can say that he is better behaved and has a nice mellowness about him. His rides have been much more productive since starting him on this. I did give him an extra scoop a few hours before his jump school. He is also easier to deal with on the ground. He's a good boy in general, but he is a 17 hand warmblood. He licks his bowl clean, so palatability is obviously not an issue!

Unpalatable
I was really looking forward to using this on my current horse as I had used it on a previous horse years ago and it worked like a charm. However, my current horse found it unpalatable. He wouldn't touch it initially so I started adding molasses and he would eat a little but never finish. It really has a strong odor and the scoop is quite large so feeding 2 scoops am & pm was a lot and it was just overtaking the smell of the feed. Tried for a couple weeks but I don't think he was eating enough to do anything.

Keeps my OTTB level headed but not lethargic
I was skeptical about this product so I did a trial 2 months on and then 2 off to see if I noticed a difference. Well I certainly did! My young OTTB was much more pleasant and manageable, focused and ready to work. He was level headed not spooky or flighty or anxious. This product does not make your horse lethargic or "doped" but does make them overall calm. I tried many daily products including the Smartpak tranquility and the Smartpak calm- this product is definitely superior and does not test for rated competitions. Best part is my picky eater will clean this up without hesitation.

My horse eats it!!!
I have a mare that can be a silly at times. She has difficulty focusing on me rather then her surroundings when I’m on her. I really think that the Perfect Prep held her to be a happier horse. Most importantly she eats it. She is a notoriously picky eater.

Seems To Help
Really seems to help my 12 yo Hanoverian gelding stay chilled out. He’s on rehab for the next 6 weeks so he needs a little calming supplement daily. I’ve also used Perf Prep Training Day for shoes/trailering and it helps a lot.

Works great
Works great when administered about 2 hours prior to event. Makes my mare much calmer. I did try feeding it daily and didn't seem to work as well as just giving it 2 hrs before my ride. I will by again and again.

Absolutely Amazing
I have a 4yo PercheronxTB who was very rushed in his under saddle work prior to owning him. We learned pretty quickly that he was a very high anxiety horse to the point that he had ulcers, he was also bordering underweight no matter how much he ate. After treating the ulcers, he still displayed nervous tendencies despite the ground work we put him through. I bought this supplement to help prevent ulcers again, but also to keep his restart as calm and stress free as possible. Within a week, I had a different horse. He began putting on weight very quickly and for the first time, he was able to go outside and hand graze without spooking at everything and has quickly gained confidence while working. Seeing him finally be able to be content and relax is worth every penny that this supplement cost. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone with an anxious horse.

The best!
I love this product! I started using it with my Dutch warmblood and I also use it on my andalusian cross. They both are more focused under saddle with this product. My only complaint is that sometimes my Dutch warmblood doesn't like the taste.

The Best Calming Supplement I've Ever Used
I have a stallion who is the high anxiety type. We had some luck with the paste, but he really needed to be on something everyday. It took about two weeks to notice a difference, but he is so much happier and seems to have a quieter brain. I've been able to back down the amount I was administering, but he will stay on this for the foreseeable future.

Unpalatable
Can’t speak to how effective this product may be, as my horse refused to touch it. I tried mixing it with all sorts of things including applesauce , molasses, sweet feed, and more. The smell is strong and doesn’t mask well. It’s an expensive supplement, and Smartpack won’t allow returns on it like they do their own supplements, so if you can find a way to let your horse taste test it first I strongly recommend.

This product definitely made a difference for me!
My horse is 23 and has always been spooky. He is off of work quite often due to chronic white line disease. Therefore, he doesn't get to do much more than a walk for months at a time, & sometimes he was unsafe to ride. My trainer suggested Training Day, & although it was pricey, I was willing to try anything just to have pleasant rides on him. IT WORKED. It definitely "takes the edge off" & although he is not "spook-free" :) , it made a noticeable difference & I cannot live without it now! I have owned this horse for 12 years & this is the first time I have been able to hand walk/ride without the fear of him losing his mind over something that spooks him. It changed my life, which sounds dramatic, but it's true!

Good product
I bought this for my mare who tends to be tense for dressage tests. Helped settle her down some, although it’s a lot of powder so I have to add some water to get her to eat it all.

It WORKS!
Acquired a 13:1 Welsh pony with serious spook issues. Tried several things which had worked with other horses, but not for him. Training Day does work. Only feeding it in the AM as I ride him before noon, and still effective. Have found if I ride him later in the afternoon, the effect has worn off, so, if I change my schedule for training later in the day, would probably have to increase his dose, or give him an additional ration at lunch. I am not feeding the PM dose. Cost is prohibitive if feed at the suggested level. Was told that size of the animal is irrelevant, so you need to play with the dose and see what you need. BUT, IT IS MAGIC for this pony..... very grateful!

Great supplement!
I use this supplement on a nervous OTTB mare, and it is very beneficial. She is so much more relaxed and focused. Everyone in the barn noticed a difference in her temperament as well. I highly recommend this!

This works
I like Training Day; it seems to work well. I am using it on a new horse- a 5 yr old who I have owned for about 2 mo. He is smart, but very sensitive and had lots of anxiety when he came to WI from KY. I used ViaCalm for about 40 days and did not see much change. I saw improvement after a week or so on the Training Day. My horse is about 14'3 so I am only using 1 oz per day (1/2 oz AM and PM). The cost is quite prohibitive at the rate of 1 oz AM and PM like the mfgr suggests you give. I think it's good to move up if you need more, but see how well your horse does on a lower does. My guy is less looky, and much more settled on the ground and under saddle.
