Palatable Pellets
Bought to supplement the magnesium that is lacking in our soils, grass and hay and to ensure he had enough magnesium to supply his muscles. He eats it. That's number one!! He seems looser in his head and neck-this is a very stiff horse. His massage guy asked what was different. I said the Magnesium was all. Could be working!

I NEVER expected this much change
Not a single ride went by that I didn't constantly deal with startle/stop/tense/distracted by things next to and 50 yards away from the arena. After three weeks of Magnesium I am riding a different horse. She is focused, ON ME, is relaxed and almost never startles. An amazing change!!

NEVER expected such a change!!
Unable to have a single ride without a startle/scoot/tense/long look at anything around the ring, or 50 yards away. Until three weeks after starting the Magnesium. She is now relaxed/focused on me/and just notices things moving in the distance with only an ear turn. What an incredible change. I NEVER expected a different horse.

Will be buying again!
I'd recommend these for anyone who has a spooky horse who cannot seem to relax. They won't make your horse completely quiet, but definitely takes the edge off. My horse loves them, and they are an excellent price!

Calming agent
Getting this in a Smartpak to help calm an anxious and irritable mare who didn't really respond to Smart mare. She is also now taking hormones, but still seems better and trainer recommended this along with B vitamins.

A good product
I work with young horses and give most of my horses in training Mag to help balance their temperaments and help their focus. They seem to be better able to work and learn when they are on the product without losing their normal responsiveness and trainability.

I've tried multiple calming supplements for my extremely nervous horse and this one seems to be the only one that's really made a difference. He's been on magnesium 5,000 for about two months now and I noticed the difference in about a month. Will definitely keep him on this supplement

Great supplement!
I purchased this product a month ago and have seen improvement in my 20 year old gelding. His movements are more fluid and he isn't acting as herd bound as he had been in the past; we do trail ride alone. I will be re-ordering this again, thank you!

Positive results & great taste
My very finicky mare loves the taste of these pellets. I like the price and the fact that they are pellets, so there is almost no waste. I also like that these pellets don't have a bunch of additional ingredients that she doesn't need. We've been using these for almost a month and I can see a more relaxed muscle tone and demeanor. She is relaxed but not groggy. I'm very happy with this product so far.

My 9 year old thoroughbred gelding has been taking this for 1 month now. He readily eats it in the morning with another supplement and his regular feed. He was on a different product in the past with higher counts of Magnesium, but this is just so simple and convenient in the Smartpaks!

Why change?
I have been getting Magnesium powder for this horse for years. This t o me Smart Pak sent pellets instead. They cost more but still inexpensive. Why? Pepper does eat the new pellets.

No ticks?!
I started this supplement after my vet recommended I put my mare on something with magnesium. She had injured muscles in her hip and was having muscle spasms. This stopped the spasms almost immediately, and her demeanor changed. Despite being on stall rest she was content. We kept her on the supplement even after she passed vet check, because it seemed to help her with her other anxieties. As summer rolled around, and the ticks came out, we noticed something extraordinary. While the other horses came in with sometimes up to 14 ticks attached in a day, I've only found 5 bites on my girl--in three months.

It really works!

Magnesium helps with EPM
My horse has EPM. The disease is a parasite that attacks the central nervous system and I read that this product supports a healthy CNS. Magnesium combined with other SmartPak immunization boosters may have actually saved my horse's life, or has at least has given her a chance. When the diagnosis came in and I discovered the medicine was close to $3,000 with no guarantee of a success. I knew I had to do something but what? I remembered my step daughter used SmartPaks on her horse and suggested I try it. I couldn't afford to pay for the meds so all I had was my horse's own immune system and SmartPak to fight off the disease. With the aid SmartPak supplements, Chancy went from going in constant circles and nearly falling down to actually being able to run a little in just a few months time!!!!! Although she has limited use of one of her hind legs, classic EPM symptom, she is getting stronger every day. When my vet stopped to visit last week he came with the expectation that we'd discuss putting her down. When he seen how well she was doing he asked what I'd been giving her and I told him SmartPak supplements that included high doses of vitamin E and magnesium. Magnesium is used to support normal CNS and muscle as well as helping keep her calm---EPM horses cannot handle stress, it worsens the problem. Anyway, he could not believe how well she is doing. He's never seen such a turn around in an EPM horse as bad off as her. While EPM horses suffer many problems and relapses, I too will adjust my SmartPak contents to aid in her ability to fight the disease. Thanks SmartPaks!!!!

Seems to help.
I like this pelleted form for getting magnesium to my insulin resistant Morgan and mini. They eat the pellet well and it is easy to feed them. It seems to help them to regulate their sugar and not get so fat or founder.

Gave me the horse I knew was in there!
I had been coming undone trying to find ways to calm my 4 year old filly, but everything I tried didn't seem to do anything for her. She was unmanageable - and just a terror to be around. To the point that I was contemplating just getting rid of her. However, in a last effort to get her to a safe and sane state - I did a bit of research on magnesium deficiency and found she had almost all the symptoms. I figured it couldn't hurt to try it and see if it made any difference in her overall behavior because I really didn't want to have to give up on her. I saw a difference within a week and it's only gotten better since. She has been on it for 2 months now, and I couldn't be happier with the results I've seen. It's given her her mind back and she went from an all fight mentality to a willing, compliant, and less (over)reactive state of mind. She is an absolute joy to be around now!

Works after a Few Weeks of Use
I started my horse on this supplement last month and it took about 3 weeks of feeding it everyday before I noticed any change in his behavior. He has definately calmed down under saddle, but it has not changed his nasty personality on the ground. Overall worth it for a hyper horse, but it takes a double dose x 3 weeks for any effect.

I have had "Notty" on Magnesium since October of 2014. I notice better concentration and recovery from workouts. He seems calmer and more focused for optimum performance during workouts!

Not as good as SmartCalm Ultra!
My gelding had been on SmartCalm Ultra for a long time. I had some recent financial changes and I was trying to save a little money, so I decided to switch him to the Magnesium 5000. He was on it a bit over a month when I started to notice how spooky he started behaving. We had a storm and he hadn't been out in 2 weeks. We were on a trail (that we normally ride 3x per week) and he spun and jumped sideways and tried to bolt. When I got him under control, I started looking around to see what was so "scary". There was a tumble weed stuck in the gate that he refused to go near! Now, he's not what I would call a brave horse, but he's not THAT spooky. We had a few episodes like this on several rides in a row. Then I remembered I had changed his supplement! I called Smartpak and shared my story. Of course they were great and credited me back for the Magnesium 5000 and shipped out his SmartCalm that same day. I don't want to say that the Magnesim 5000 doesn't work, just not for my horse. Maybe he has more of a B vitamin deficiency than magnesium. Can't wait for the SmartCalm to arrive and get back in his system so I can have my reliable endurance horse back!
