I just started my mare on leg up so I am still waiting to see improvements on her! I love how affordable it is and the supplement overall, not only targeting muscle build up but how it will benefit after each work out she gets realeasing the build up of acid.

Great muscle maintenance
I have had my 16-year-old Morgan on this supplement for over six months now. I started him on it after he recovered from an injury this past winter as he lost some muscle tone due to not being able to work. Even before his injury, he was always prone to be a little sore in his muscles after a workout and would be sensitive when currying his back, so I really wanted to make sure that was addressed as well. I chose this supplement for him over other muscle development supplements because it not only has the essential amino acids for lean muscle development, but it also has DMG in it which is known to be beneficial for horses prone to muscle soreness. I am happy to say that not only is his muscle tone back to where it was pre-injury, but he also isn't sensitive when I brush him, which makes me happy knowing that he is feeling good! This supplement is great for horses that you are looking to either maintain the muscle tone that they have or to help reach a normal muscle tone, as well as horses that tend to have tender muscles after exercise. He can be a bit picky about his supplements sometimes, but he has no problem eating this supplement out of his SmartPak each day!

Great supplement!
I added this supplement to my ponies smartpak’s a couple months ago. We started taking lessons again this year and I noticed she wasn’t bouncing back as well as she used to. In conjunction with her multi supplement, muscle pellets has really made a difference. She feels looser and more willing to work. I love the price too!

Worth it
I started using Leg up muscle, joint, and smarthoof. I had used Tri amino before and got results but like all things cost over time is hard. What I did find was for my horse Leg-up muscle got better results for less. Like any supplement for muscle you also need a good training program but this has by far helped bring my horse along muscle wise.
Why wouldn't you want the same things as major name products plus things like DMG which help muscle recovery and Gamma Oryzanol which helps with muscle definition for less ?

Put on muscle but made my horse hot hot hot
It put muscle on my horse fairly quickly; however, my horse went from a spur every step ride to a freight train that never ran out of steam no matter how long you worked him. It wasn't worth the compromise.

Great for Seniors
I added this supplement to my senior horse's SmartPaks soon after I bought him from my trainer after half-leasing him for a season. He was previously a part of her lesson string and is definitely a hard keeper; a tough summer and rides from almost exclusively beginners meant that he was pretty undermuscled and a bit ribby. With this supplement and getting him into consistent, quality work, he looks better than ever - even at 19!
Like any supplement it isn't going to be a magic pill for someone who miraculously wants a perfect topline overnight, but it can definitely help if you have a good program going.

My horse will not eat
My mare will eat absolutely ANYTHING, but for once in my life I've come across a product that she refuses to eat. I put the tinest bit in her grain and she won't even touch it :( Pretty disappointed considering I've had better experinces with other Leg Up supplements.

I've noticed some good improvements in my horse on this supplement. I think it's a good muscle support suppmement when fed with other things (feed/hay/other supplements). I would recommend it for basic muscle support or when you're looking to add a bit more to your current feeding regiment.

Look at that butt!
I bought this in early spring hoping to keep my gelding looking little beefy. When going into a harder work load he slims down. I am happy with the results. I bought the 19 lbs bag and feed 1 scoop. In my own opinion I would feed a little more for a shorter period. I would use this product again and recommend it.

Not impressed, not ideal for senior horses
My senior gelding had dropped a bunch of weight this year. I started him on this product right after his dental. That was over six weeks ago. No change in weight. Not at all impressed. Winter is coming and I was hoping this would have put some on. Changing supplements, not using this again.

Results!!!
My 12yo Tb gelding used to get sore after heavy workouts, so the main reason I got this supplement was to aid soreness. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to see notable differences in his muscle growth, but boy was I wrong. It has helped his topline fill out so much that I don't need my corrective pad anymore. His shoulders and haunches have also bulked up significantly. This in combination with appropriate work will really show results. Bonus: no more sore muscles!!!

Seeing Results!
My appy is very narrow and long-backed and I was having a hard time getting his top line to fill in and his shoulders to really build up even with consistent work. I feel like this supplement really just gave him the boost he needed to finally get those muscles. He's still very narrow but his shoulders, butt and top-line have filled in very nicely. He's been on this for about 2+ months and I really see a difference. As a bonus his feet are holding together nicely too.

Results and great cost!
I bought this for my filly since she came to me quite under muscled. Even with a very light exercise program she started to fill out very nicely. Photos shown are about a three month difference.

No change that I could see, switched supplements.
So...my guy needed to add muscle along his top line and hip. After confirming with the vet that everything else was in order (health, nutrition, dental, etc.) we started him on this hoping that along with his strength-building exercises from his Chiropractor that he would add muscle. After 3 months, literally no change. Switched him to SmartMuscle this month, fingers crossed it helps!!! Price and palatability were good. Should probably have rated it a 1 or 2 as there was no improvement, but I’ve had good results with other Leg Up supplements and maybe this would work for other horses.

Good product
I have 3 Horses that are 10 and older and one 8yr. All have benefited from the leg up lysine product. All have improved thier body condition and hair coats. Even though it’s only been a month I have seen improvements.
