It works
I tried this for two months during the last few summer months. I definitely noticed a difference when I stopped using it during the transition from summer to fall. I also noticed my guy had a lot less flies and gnats on him compared to the other horses. Of course nothing works 100% but this worked 80%, which is still better than nothing.

Horses won't eat them
Both of my horses will not touch this at all. They turned up their noses and refused to eat this.

Happy horse, happy owner
At first we were not sure if these pellets were working. Amazingly, on the day that I was having second thoughts, I received an email from SmartPak explaining that it takes a few weeks for the effectiveness to kick in. Sure enough, here we are a few weeks later and our horse seems very content and not bothered by bugs. We will definitely continue to use this product.

Not much difference but easy feeding
My 2 horses have been on this for about 1.5 months. I don’t see any difference with bugs or bites but the smartpaks and feeding are easy. I will be trying a different bug supplement from smartpak next year.

Switched this year - works great!
Montana this year! His brother and sister stay up in shelter while he’s out unbothered grazing away. I had used other brand last 3 years and he was with them more often. This is best I’ve used. Not using fly spray or sheets either.

I find this doesn’t do much with the recommended dosage. However, with what’s its made from, I tripped the dose per horse. I find that it is 95% effective against ticks at this dose. Flys are demons and don’t care.

Not Sure Product is Effective Enough
I decided to try the Leg Up because of the ingredients, less toxicity; however, not certain it works well to keep the flies from bothering my horses enough. May switch before I reorder.

Horse liked it - didn't do a thing
Fed this for a few months and noticed zero difference in the amount of flies on my horse. Granted, it was a bad year for flies, but this was a waste of money. Switched to the SmartBug-Off Ultra Pellets but that also didn't make a difference. I would've been better off saving the money spent on these feed throughs and using it to buy more Endure Fly Spray

Helpful Product
Florida insects are horrible! We have to use a ton of fly spray and fly catching devices. With that said, the Leg Up pellets are one more defense against all these pests. It definitely seems to help, my horse eats it, and it’s a great value.

Honestly don’t know
I’ve been giving this to all three of my horses, as well as using fly spray, speedy removal of manure and fly traps. Still have plenty of flies! Maybe they would be even worse without it?

Didn't Work
Fed this for a month noticed absolutely no difference. Same fly amount and ticks while fed. Didn't notice the garlicky smell some others did. It did smell slightly different than usual but not strong.

Flies are especially bad this year so I bought this and....I don’t see a difference. The horses eat it fine but I won’t buy another bag

Not sure if it works
I started this product last month in hopes that it would help the fly situation we have here in Georgia. I am not sure that anything natural would help but I will keep my guy on it for the duration of the summer as I have done in the past.

Didn't see a difference
Used this for three months starting in the spring and unfortunately did not see a difference. Also, my horse did not like the taste at first but eventually got used to it.

Meh didn’t work that well for me
I have two horses on this and one on smart bug off. The one on smart bug off has way less flies than the other two horses have. Last year I had one horse and he was on smart bug off and it worked but I wanted to try to save money (since I have more horses now) and give this cheaper version a whirl. Can’t do it. I’m switching back to smart bug off.

Keeps ticks away for sure!
I've never bought a feed-through bug repellent but the price was right so I decided to try this one out! While I haven't seen a decrease of insects on or around the horses, I do think it has helped with flying insect bites. I have also not seen any more tick bites recently, which is a huge plus for me. So not a repellent, but seems to help with biting!

Bug free!
I started my horse on this a month ago and the flies have just started swarming all the horses in the barn and mine is fly free. Between Leg Up Bug Defense, Citronella shampoo and fly spray, my boy is flyless!

Didn't work! But my horse ate it.
I wanted to try something new since I used SmartBug Off Ultra last summer and only liked it OK. I saw the positive reviews on this product and added it to my horses smartpak. I have seen no difference with my horse and the bugs so I have moved back to the SmartBug Off Ultra. I won't try this product again.

Horse love it!
I started my horse on this about a month ago.
I’ve seen very little improvement so far. However, it may be my fault as I haven’t been giving it to him every single day. I’m going to try another month being more consistent. I can tell you my horse loves it like a treat!

More Palatable and Good Product
I bought this supplement for my pony who has a flu allergy and refuses to eat the BugOff pellets. He has not refused to eat this supplement yet and has been on it for a few months. Seems to be protecting him from the flies but it is very early in the season. I will continue to use this product in the future.

Not as many flies.
We have. Even on this about a month. The flies don't seem to be as bad however, lots of flies on there eyes and still using fly spray.

Best price decent results
I have had my horse on this supplement for a little over 2 months now. Before I forget this does have a horrible smell but my horse doesn't mind that at all. We are from Central Florida and we've gotten a lot of rain so far and it's not even summer! My guy has always had pretty bad allergic reactions to flies so he's always on something to keep them at Bay. He has not had any allergic reactions so far and we moved to a place that unfortunately has a lot of flies. I'm happy with the fact that he hasn't had bad reactions but there are still flies all around him. Unsure if it's the supplement that is keeping them from biting but they still like to annoy him. Happy with results for such a cheap price. I am considering trying smartparks options but again you can't really expect flies to avoid your horse at all times but the lack of reactions leads me to believe this supplement worked.

Helped Keep the Bugs Away
My mare is super sensitive to flies and this made her less attractive to the bugs. Love this product and the horses ate it willingly. Absolutely saw a difference almost immediately. I recommend this product. Plus, the price is affordable especially when you have multiple horses.

Actually works!
I didn’t really believe any of these products did anything except make the horse smell bad, but my mare has a terrible greenhead allergy and this supplement saved her. About 2 days into using she no longer had any welts or hives.

So far, so good!
I ordered this for two horses on my farm in Ocala that are being tormented by gnats, and while it's too soon to tell if it's helping with the bug problem, I will say they do gobble up every pellet. I hope it works. I like that this products is very affordable, so it was worth a shot to see if it helps keep the gnats away!

Wonderful!
For the past 5 summers I have been battling bugs. I've never tried a feedthrough supplement because I've always heard they don't work. Even earlier this spring when my sensitive chestnut TB mare wasn't on this and bugs were not nearly as bad as they are now, she would last maybe 1.5 hours outside before she was running. Ever since starting this supplement, she is staying outside much longer and is much happier. I notice the gnats are not nearly as bad as they normally are when riding! This supplement is keeping my horse, me and the barn workers MUCH happier!
