Minerals Vital for Maintaining Health
Mined from the vast and ancient Himalyan mountains, these licks are a 550 million year old source of minerals and trace elements for your horse or pony. The distinctive rose pink color comes from the salt’s high mineral content, including iron, potassium, and magnesium, which are all vital for maintaining health. Mass-produced salt licks are produced using salt with minerals added in during the manufacturing process, but that’s not the case with Himalayan salt, where the minerals are naturally found within the salt. Himalayan rock salt licks are literally “rock hard,” meaning that horses and ponies are unable to bite chunks off the block, a problem than can occur with softer “pressed” salt licks. These licks are also more weather resistant, which means they can be safely left outside in the field for horses to “self-dose.” We've found that horses like them more than other salt licks! Available in small (2.2 lbs), medium (6.6 lbs) or block (4.4 lbs, 2”x4”x8”). The small and medium licks include a rope. The 4.4lb block fits in most standard salt block holders and does not come with a rope.

It's the only salt lick my horse will use
My horse wouldn't lick any salt blocks and insted would lick the metle of her stall until I got her this one for Christmas 4 months later I'm reordering it shes already finished one on the small licks on a roap.

Do NOT feed this to your horse
My 6 year old horse got electrolyte imbalance, low magnesium and low potassium
after licking this salt block all day, He drank 4 buckets of water each day - his stall was soaked in urine.
This contributed to irregular heart beats and a $6000 vet bill to bup him back to normal.
When we removed the Himalayan salt his water intake was normal and his stall was dry.

Love it comes on a rope
My horse wasn't drinking enough water so I ordered the himalayan salt lick on a rope. I have a Haflinger & he loved it. During 2 extremely heavy rainfall days when he was kept inside, it kept him from getting bored. Also I knew he was getting some minerals he might have been missing. He's drinking water like he should especially in the hot weather we've been having (mid 90's). It didn't take him long to go through it though, but I'm going to keep seeing that he gets this on a regular basis.

Beware of the sizing!
I bought the 4" x 2" x 8" block to fit in SmartPak's plastic holder.
The block I received was 4 1/4" x 2 1/8" x 7 3/4" - didn't even come close to fitting in the holder.
So now I either have to find a bigger holder or grind / slice / melt / or otherwise resize this block.
Very disappointed, and I've been a fan of SmartPak for many years.

My horses like Hamlayan salt licks
My horses mostly ignore the big block salt licks that my local feed store has available. I think they like these because they are a little softer(ok so they ooze in the heat and make a bit of a mess)and because they can be hung at a more convenient height. I live in Va--where we have a heat index of 100 degrees today--so it is important to me that the horses use the salt licks.

Bought the large size about a month ago, my mare loves it! Would recommend this size as I can't imagine a smaller one, this one seems perfect and it will last a bit. She may have eaten the smaller size up by now!
