Cough Free is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 165.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I use this to help my horse with allergies, he responds well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This did not work for my COPD horse I started ont he Smart Breath pellets, switched to this for a monht, and noticed he started coughing again pretty bad, so went back to the pellets, they just flat out work. This did not. My horse also didn't seem to like its taste, I had to get creative with how to get him to eat it every day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful! Cough Free is a waste of money. My mare wouldn't even eat it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product for the price I bought thus for my horse because he would cough at the beginning of our rides and he will get the occasional nose bleed. The vet can't tell me what is causing the cough or nosebleeds without scoping him while he is actively bleeding so I decided to give Cough Free a try. It does reduce his coughing, now he only coughs in a certain arena or every now and then when he is grazing in a dusty spot. He hasn't had any nosebleeds since starting this supplement, but I don't know if its because of the supplement or not. Overall, it does a good job for a good price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cough Free is the best product on the market! I have used Couth Free for several years and love that it is all natural and will clear up a cough with just a few doses. It is also a great breathing aid for my barrel horses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from noticable difference I tried this product on my Gelding who has developed a mild cough when you first start working him. He has had this cough for several years and after two trips around the arena it was normally gone...this year however, the air quality do to high amounts of allergens in the air the cough was lasting a little longer. Cough Free was very helpful in relieving the my horses breathing issues. The only thing I didn't care for was the fact that I had to mask it in his feed as he would eat around it. I had used cough free on him in the past and he ate it right up, didn't understand why he was picky about it this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to help My warmblood is a mild roarer to begin with, and when he arrived from the East Coast to California, he was definitely coughing a bit every time we started warming up (more than the usual initial clearing). We thought maybe it was just an adjustment after the trip, but after giving the Cough Free to him for a week or so and then stopping, there was a definite improvement when he was on the Cough Free. So we added it to his daily SmartPak. For the price, it is certainly the cheapest and most effective solution I've seen! As for 'palatability', my horse pretty much eats anything put in front of him, so I can't speak to the picky eaters. It's also mixed in with his other supplements and rice bran...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WORKS I have used this product for several years. I think it has worked better for my horse than any other product I have tried so far. Really has helped his cough.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not impressed...Stick to SmartBreathe! I bought this for my gelding who has coughs due to dust and allergies. The product itself is very dust-like (which I don't see how this is helping) and my gelding who will eat ANYTHING was very hesitant about eating his grain when I put this in. I had to put only half the dose in in order for him to even consider eating it. Not impressed, I have a lot better results and palatability with the SmartBreathe pellets! I'll stick to those....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for my horse! My OTTB jumper has always had some respiratory issues. After moving to a new barn, it got increasingly worse! The barn is very dusty, and his stall is right next to the indoor. I started him on Cough Free 2 months ago. After the 5 day loading dose, he seemed much better! It is now in his SmartPak, and he is doing very well! I give Cough Free all the credit! He actually missed his SmartPak for a few days (they got left at home when the barn packed for a show) and his cough started back up again. Now that he's back getting it everyday, I haven't heard him cough! Now I'm extra careful that he doesn't miss a day!Luckily, he isn't a picky eater, but based on the smell, I know my hunter (who is extremely picky) wouldn't touch his food if this were in it. It smells very strong. I can only imagine what it tastes like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I've used in the past to clear up a cough, using it on my other horse now for cough. I mix it with plain yogurt and it takes away the awful smell and I'm sure takes away the bad taste too! The yogurt is a plus to help with stomach probiotics, good when giving antibiotics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this product! My horse got heaves, it was pretty bad, dust in arena, he was also eating off a large round bale, vet suggested cough free & forking hay into a feeder instead of free choice, cleared him up in a week, I keep it on hand when I travel, he didn't like the taste so she suggested mixing it with 7up, sprite or sierra mist, it worked great, now he eats it with no problem!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to help.... My horses cough has been a bit of a mystery and very hit or miss. I do believe this product has helped and plan to continue using it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Improvement Horse has been on for a little over a month. Cough has improved but not eliminated yet. I think it might be arena dust irritaing him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It worked! Just what I needed! My horse developed a MILD, dry, stable like cough only when riding. He has had sensitivity to dust in the past and I had a feeling that and dry air was causing it. A friend recommended I try this. after reading all of the positive reviews on here I gave it a try. He did not like the taste at first especially of the loading dose but within 2 days his cough was improving and within a week the cough was gone. He tolerated the taste but after seeing how well it worked I would even just syringe it for a horse that won't eat it. I kept him on it for a little while and was able to wean him off of soaked hay and recently took him off of it. I now keep a supply of this in my feed room and will not hesitate to put him back on it if needed. This horse had a serious cough a few months prior so I was ok to try this for something MILD but I would definitely have a vet check out a more severe cough before trying this. I would definitely recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cough Free says it all! I have tried several other products with no luck. This has stopped his cough! Just wish it tasted better! I mix with some molasses/water and he eats it with his feed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for Coughs and Allergies Other than the awful smell, this worked. 5 days given 2 scoops a day; runny eyes, nose and dry cough was gone. I had to coat this stuff in a ton of sweet feed with some syrup on top, but was desperate. Solved all my issues!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smells terrible - taste worse! I cannot say whether or not this works because like many of the other reviewers' horses, my horse refuses to touch this and he is not normally picky at all. I tried every disguise trick I've ever known and he will not get near it. Ruined a lot of feed trying to trick him into eating it. Wish it came in a tasty pellet. I have found a product called "Respi-Free" by Omega that really works. Don't think SP sells it though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helped cough My horse coughed several times while trotting when I showed or worked her out. Since I have been using this product she has gotten better. I am hoping the longer I use it that the cough will go away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING product/Life Savor! When i first got my pony he had a terrible cough that i could not get rid of. Soaked his hay. would dampen his bedding. Put him outside when sweeping. Nothing helped. Within the first week of trying this i saw a huge improvement in his ability to breath normally. graze and eat hay without struggling and made working easy for him. He never had a problem with the taste (he will eat anything) its a powder though and without alot of grain its dust covers the bucket etc. I love this product and will continue to use it because it makes him that much more comfortable!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product. I have used this product on 2 horses it worked great for the mare . My gelding unfortunately has a more serious condition due to a lung infection in 2011. Cough free does give him relief but he stays on the loading dose. It does need to be disguised by adding it to soaked alfalfa as it has a strong smell. Overall I would recommend trying this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the job I purchased this supplement because my horse developed heaves over the summer from the hay. This supplement did work well and my horse was breathing way better after a month. It smells bad and good thing he was a good eater and didn't care. They should make a pelleted form for picky eaters!
    Date published: 2013-02-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective, if your horse will eat it This worked for my horse's seasonal allergies- he went from coughing after doing anything above an energetic walk to no coughing at all in about 4 days on this supplement. BUT, he didn't like the taste of it (I can't blame him, it smells awful). At first he'd eat his CoughFree-tainted grain slowly, then he started refusing it completely. I had to hide it in a mash. The mash did the trick until the end of summer when he no longer needed it. Some horses may not be so easily fooled, though. As a bonus, it also works to prevent chewing on lead ropes: I rub the used bag from the container on his lead ropes- one taste and he leaves them alone!
    Date published: 2012-11-27
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works if they'll eat it This seemed to work and to relieve symptoms when I first tried it, but the horse became progressively more resistant to eating it. No amount of trying to hide or cover the taste worked after a couple of doses.
    Date published: 2012-10-20
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unpalatable I can't say whether Cough Free works because the smell is so strong my horse wouldn't go near his feed tub.
    Date published: 2012-10-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked to a degree My gelding has vague seasonal allergies, a bit of wheezing, a cough when first riding, allergic swelling along his jaw sometimes. Nothing that ever shows up when the vet is here, (of course), nothing predictable, and he is turned out all he wants, so it is not from being stalled.Cough free helped him somewhat, but I have to moisten it on his feed or he blows is away and won't eat it well. It did help him some, but I am trying SmartBreathe to just give him a bit more help. This is a good product to try though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy! Within 7 days of this in my horse's Ultium,5 days of 2 scoops and 2 with 1, his cough was gone, and had zero winded sounds after finishing a hour jumping lesson or 3 mile jogs. Amazing!
