Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps Bugs Away!! Love this product... even in a boarding stable with others not on the product, my horse is bug free!! I'm using less spray and he's a happy camper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bug Control This all natural product really breaks the fly cycle. The herbs and garlic repel insects and the diatomaceous earth deters flies from breeding in the manure. Diatomaceous earth comes from ancient sea creatures, so it is nontoxic to humans and animals. Though it looks and feels like talcum powder to us, it acts like broken glass to crawling insects, slicing their bodies, so they dry and die without using poisonous pesticides. Using Bug Check as your horse supplement and sprinkling garden-variety diatomaceous earth over your manure will break the fly cycle in a totally nontoxic, environmentally safe way. Horses love the flavor; I even give it to my dog. Because the diatomaceous earth is an irritant to soft-bodied crawling insects, I am wondering whether it is a good worm control. I plan to take fecals this summer, as I believe chemical wormers stress horses' systems, and at this point, wormers are a necessary evil, to be used as little as possible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SimpliFly is better Think paying more means you're getting more is not the case here. I switched to this product b/c it says it deters bugs from not only the manure but the horse as well. My 10 horses were previously on SimpliFly, which just prevents flies from reproducing in manure. I have noticed a drastic increase in flies. Living next door to the Everglades, we need something heavy duty. The active ingredient cyromazine in SimpliFly I beilieve is much more beneficial than this 'non-toxic' approach.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bugcheck is great I was skeptical of this product at first, but I thought I'd give it a try since I have been trying fly predators and fly sprays and everything and the flies were still horrible. I definitely saw results within the first week! The flies had been eating my horses alive. They had welps and sores and just couldn't live in peace because of the flies. After a week of bugcheck, the flies were greatly reduced. There are still a few flies, but the welps and sores are gone and my horses only have to swat their tails at occasional flies now. I am definitely happy to have found something that works and the horses seem to think it tastes good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from If only... Keep in mind, I started this late in the season - I didn't realize ticks would be so horrible this year and after finding my third (in the 9 years I've had this horse), I decided to try something. She also has severe reactions to bug bites as she's gotten older, so I was looking for something to deter them as she's already on an antihistamine to help with the reactions. I did the samples - my horse grudgingly ate them, so I added it to her SmartPak. Unfortunately, two weeks in, she's decided that she no longer wants to eat them - she's stopped eating her grain all together; making it difficult to get her SmartFlex Senior and the antihistamine powder she's on. I've had to throw out her grain and scrub her feed bucket (a corner feeder - no easy task!) and she's starting to eat again. I've also found three more ticks on her since - two latched and one crawling. This could be because I didn't start her on it early enough or she actually needed a higher dose than recommended from starting her later/ticks are that bad this season. Also, perhaps she wasn't on the supplement long enough. All likely possibilities. The good thing I noticed while she was on it - when cleaning her stall, she didn't have flies around her manure like other horses. The Smart Bug Off seemed to work and more palatable to my horse when we got the samples, but it's simply too expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth it! My horse has always had problems with hives and fly bites. I have not even had him on this supplement for a full month and he no longer has hives or bites all over him. He has extremely sensitive skin and I cannot even believe how quickly and well this works!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from superior bug control This is a superior product as, are all the rest of the Natural Vet's products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Stuff! I only have my two horses in my barn. I have used Bug Check on my boys for a couple months and totally notice a difference!
Date published: 2010-06-18
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tried numerous Feed-Thru bug control Fly predators didn't quite work out - had chickens that would eat 'em. Finding a spot for them was difficult. SimpliFly stricly prevents breeding of fly in horse manure, not deters biting flies. I'm hoping that the price I paid for a 50lb sure does work. I have noticed, that a new horse that has arrived at our barn, whom was never on any "anti remedies" does have a lot more fly sworming him. So maybe since my 10 horses have consistenly been on a treatment, this shows some of these products may work. They have a a money back guarantee & after 2 weeks they say there should be in an impovement. ::::crossing fingers::::

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed, this works on my horses I started using this product one month before the flies even thought about hatching. I have not had to use any fly spray this year, although I am stocked up on that as well. I only have to use fly spray when I go on the trails, mainly for the deer flies. I can look at all 6 horse (one mule in the bunch) and no tails are swatting any flies and they are comfortable. The key is to use this at least a month before you need it or it doesn't work as well. I consider this money well spent, as I don't have to worry about my horses when the fly spray wears off. This seems to work even better when they sweat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed My filly has been on this product for over a month now, and the flies are still driving her crazy. This is our first experience with this type of product, but I would expect it to be working by now.
Date published: 2010-06-07
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product you can't go wrong with bugcheck. used with the proper fly maintenance, your horse will be practically fly free. best to give it to all of the horses in the barn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! I've been using Bug Check for a few years and really believe it makes a difference! Out of the all the horses where I board, mine seem to be less affected by flies than all the others. (It'd be nice if everyone was on it, but at least my two are.) My horses also don't get ticks on them like the other horses do. It's worth it to me just for that reason alone! The first few days of using Bug Check my horses might be a little finicky about it being in their grain, but after that, they eat it all up. A neighbor of mine was impressed by the results I've had so he ordered some too. If you're not sure, just try a 2 lb size and see how it works for you. Bug Check offers a money back guarantee if you don't see results in 2 weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally My horse is relieved of her bites and scabs during the fly/bug season because of Bug Check. I'm very satisfied with the results! I believe in working from the inside-out and that's what Bug Check does. No more harmful fly sprays. I haven't used any sprays in the last 2 months since using BC. Thanks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great stuff I love this for biting flies for my 6 horses. Just make sure to get it in the bucket as it is a light powder and flies away in the wind!
Date published: 2010-05-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product My horse is the only one in his pasture on this product. He's the one with the least amount of bites. He's been on this product for 3 weeks so I hope it gets better still! Great price & easy single package makes it wonderful for others who may feed for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from probably too soon to tell this year, but good result previously.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This Product Works I tried it on 3 of my horses and there is a difference between them and the others on where the bugs are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUG CHECK SO FAR THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN WELL ACCEPTED BY MY HORSE. WE HAVE ONLY BEEN USING IT 1-2 WEEKS SO IT HARD TO DETERMINE IF IT IS WORKING OR NOT. I DEFINITLY WILL GET MORE TO SEE IF IT IS WORKING.
Date published: 2010-04-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fly and pest control No more constant tail swishing and foot stomping! And it is gratifying to know that Bug Check also inhibits new generations of flies.
Date published: 2010-04-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Supplement Ever!!!!! I love Bug Check!! We used it on the horses last year and it worked wonders. Not only did it eliminate the bugs flying around them but it also made their coats soft and shiny. I would reccomend Bug Check to anyone with bug issues. We started our horses on it this April and it started working immediately. Bug Check has something for everyone's needs!!!!
Date published: 2010-04-26
Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, so good! I have been feeding Bug Check to my three equines (an AQHA mare, an Arabian mare, and a Shetland Pony mare) for approx. 3 months now. The bugs aren't in full effect yet, but compared to the other horses on the property my girls seem to be less bothered by bugs. I usually start fly masks early in the season because they all get "goopy" eyes from the flies, but so far there aren't any. Unfortunately there is no way to have "all" of the horses here on the product, but at least mine seem to be benefiting from it. I will know more when the fly season really kicks off because I live in an area surrounded by dairies! But, like the title says, so far, so good! No issues with palatability and my horses don't reek of garlic all the time. I will continue to use all summer!
Date published: 2010-04-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The must have product We've been using Bug Check for several years now and wouldn't go a summer without it. When the bugs are at their worst and you think it's not working, go ride with other who aren't using the product and you'll see those few bugs around your horse is nothing compared to the oddles around everyone elses. And no flies reproducing in the manure :)
Date published: 2010-04-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING!!!!! I absolutley love Bug Check!!!! It not only helps eliminate the bugs but it makes their coat beautiful and shiney. Everyone at the barn uses it and love it. I would highly recomend it for anyone with bug issues.
Date published: 2010-04-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from chemical-free insecticide This product deters biting flies, plus my geldings eat it right up! It is easy to use and has no harmful chemicals.
Date published: 2010-03-24
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't work I did not see a difference in the bug bites when using this product. We ended up moving our horses to another barn which helped.
Date published: 2010-02-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this product! We have used BugCheck on and off for a while and every time I stop using I am convinced of why I was using it to begin with! The horses are kept fly free (for the most part) and the barn has virtually no flies. We found that it is important that all of the horses in the barn be on the product though. We also noticed that a few of the horses have a much better coat while being on the bug-check product. I am not sure if they have allergies to fly bites or just a strong reaction, but while on bug check, their coats improved and they looked so much better! This is a great product for fly control on the horses and in the barn.
Date published: 2009-12-21
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to work Since I put my mare on this and the other 4 horses at the barn we have seen a lot less flies around. Not sure if it is the product or the fact we moved the Manure pile to the back pasture. Either way I'm happy with the results
Date published: 2009-12-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I have purchased Bug Check for two years. I can see a visible difference in the horses coats as well as the reduction in flies at the barn. When we are out on trail rides, our horses are typically fly free with the occassional flying nuisances, but our horses rarely get bit! I would recommend this product to anyone, especially anyone who has a horse with fly allergies!
Date published: 2009-10-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product This year I used Bugcheck combined with fly predators and had very few flies. The horses eat it readily , didn't have any bites on them and didn't seem very bothered with what flys were around. After a small amount of coaxing the goats finally ate it too and this helped get the expelled product throughout the barn. Unlike some products it is safe for livestock and dogs as well as horses.
