My horse can get this thing totally off of her tail in a short period of time, no matter how tight I can get the Velcro to go. A very disappointing product.

I have used this on two horses now for the past few show seasons. Super easy to care for - I just throw it in the washer and let it air dry. I love the adjustable straps that are secure and have not slipped. For horses that lean or rub while traveling, this product provides the protection and comfort you're looking for!

It seems to stay in place well and so far has prevented any significant damage to his tail. He does get some disruption of the coat hair above the tail where the top part of the wrap is mobile

Rated 5 out of 5 by CinaMin from Exactly what Mr. Itchy McRubbytail needs! My 2yo colt rubs his tail into a Brillo pad from allergies. This tail wrap is perfect. I put it on only at night and it doesn't budge if fastened securely (I don't use slippery silicone hair products because they cause hair brittleness and breakage), it's stretchy neoprene so I don't worry about circulation when fastened tautly, and it's the high quality I've come to expect from Professional's Choice. It worked and held up perfectly for months until I took it off and accidentally left it within mouth reach of a certain someone who chewed the velcro straps off.... Now I have to buy another... <eye roll>. I do wish SmartPak offered other colors for people with black-tailed horses so we could see from a distance that the wrap was still properly positioned.

It's sized generously enough to fit my warmblood's ample dock and tail well, but could fit smaller tails too. It did a good job of protecting his tail during a recent 12-hour round trip to a show, and most important, it didn't budge. I machine-washed it in a lingerie bag on a delicate cycle in cold water and line-dried it, and it came out looking like new.

My ramp is a little higher than normal and the mat is made of a material to prevent slipping when backing off the trailer. Needless to say his tail was getting rubbed out without him actually rubbing. The tail wrap was a good investment!
