Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! We give tractgard to our eventing horses to keep them hydrated. They eat it with no problem. Helps keep them in great shape. We use it in winter also, just to be sure they keep drinking - keeps the gut in good order too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Recommended by a friend My friend recommended that I try this for my horse, who had acute and chronic ulcers, so far so good.
    Date published: 2011-07-18
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lookin' Good! I have an APHA mare (age 8) named Farletta who has uveitis in one eye and has suffered very painful flare-ups which are also quite stressfull and require large amounts of medication (including banamine) to treat/manage.In October 2010, Farletta had episodes of heavy breathing (almost panting) and sweating. Her vet thought she may be suffering from ulcers as a result of the stress and meds from her uveitis. Based on this diagnosis, I selected this product to try and help Farletta feel better and hoped it would help her gain weight and look healthy again.I can't say with certainty that the TractGard made all the difference but Farletta is doing fantastic! She is back to her healthy weight and requiring much less grain to maintain it. She is dappled out and has an almost metallic sheen to her coat. She has not suffered anymore episodes of panting and sweating and truly looks like a new horse. I'm very pleased. It should be noted other things have changed since we started the TractGard including a new boarding stable with much better care and higher quality hay which I'm sure contributed to the improvements. However, I feel the TractGard has made a positive impact and will continue to feed it.I would also like to add that Farletta is an extremely picky eater and if she even suspects anything unusual is in her feed she will "hold a grudge" and refuse to eat even if you give her new "clean" feed. She readily eats the TractGard!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very effective suggested by a friend to help address my ulcer prone horse's frequent digestive episodes. It has really seemed to soothe his tummy and no (knock on wood) problems since we started it. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more missed meals! I started my 5yo mare on this last summer because she was unsettled and wouldn't come in to eat. She lives with a herd out in a large pasture and they all come in twice a day to eat. At feed time I would have to go catch her and bring her in. Once she'd been on TractGard for a bit she started coming in and eating really well. Since then I can count on one hand the meals she's missed! I rest easy knowing her gut is healthy and love that she's getting electrolytes daily. The price is pretty hard to beat too! I've also convinced other horse owners at the barn to put their horses on TractGard with fantastic results! No more leaving food in the buckets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value for same results I replaced a more expensive gut supplement with this for a young TB I'm rehabbing from the track. He is just as comfortable now (and his manure is perfect) and I'm more comfortable with the price! I've been happy with FoxDen products in the past and this seems like a keeper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely Satisfied--Great Product! I bought this for my OTTB who is prone to stress and ulcers, and is a very hard keeper. He gobbles it up every day with his Senior Feed and his weight has been very steady ever since! I also like that he is getting some electrolytes to help him stay hydrated. The price is unbeatable too--great supplement to add to your program for gastric health without breaking the bank!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I love this product! My older thoroughbred is a heavy cribber and used to suffer from gas colic on a regular basis. Since starting him on this product over 3 years ago, we have had absolutely no more expensive vet calls for colic!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps moisture in the gut My mare had impaction colic a few winters ago. This, and warm water, seem to help prevent that. In summer it provides electrolytes, so I use it all the time. It's inexpensive and effective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Picky Hardkeeper TB Approved! I noticed a difference in my mare within a week, ive had a hard time putting weight on and keeping her calm for 6 years! She finally feels good enough to slow down and eat up that grain! instead of pacing and running around in her stall

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great For Hardkeeper TB Mare I had a hard time putting weight on my mare after spending hundreds of dollars on vets telling me to give her more grain (grain that she wouldnt eat because she was so antsy and nervous) I finally tried this supplement and within 2 weeks I cant see her ribs any more! AMAZING

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value out there! My horse was showing early signs of ulcers and he is a hard keeper and picky eater to boot. He was getting a prebiotic along with other separate supplements, but there was still something off. This supplement combines the prebiotic with electrolytes and is very highly palatable for my picky eater. We just finished our first 224 day supply and he is doing great. No more signs of irritability and he's eating and keeping weight on very well. I believe this product has a good mixture of ingredients that compliment each other and it has produced better results than feeding a pre/probiotic alone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product We had a senior Thoroughbred mare that was exhibiting symptoms of occassional mild colic, off her feed, etc. Since putting her on Tract Guard, she has been eating and acting normally with no further symptoms.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from started out well The first couple of weeks, this produce produced a noticeable difference in my horse's gut function and comfort. However, the past few weeks he started sorting though his feed to 'weed out' the pellets. I am discontinuing, and plan to restart the product later to see if the problem is truly with the supplement, but this horse would eat wormer paste out of his bucket if it came with his food . . . I'm surprised at his pickiness over the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stressed Mare My vet told me my mare is at high risk for developing stomach ulcers. This is a very cost effective way to prevent ulcers and my mare likes the taste of the pellets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective and Cheap and Versatile I love this supplement. It is a must with my guys who have sensitive GI tracts. I tried to quit using it, and I could tell a difference without it. My colic-prone guy just had this sour look about him which vanished within several days of restarting. I saw a marked increase in one of my horse's water consumption. I had tried electrolytes and salt in order to encourage him to drink more; imagine my surprise when this did the trick. I took him off of it, and he began to drink less. When back on it, he hydrated himself to my liking. It even helps control my chestnut's sometimes hyperactive gut sounds. I will definitely keep this one in the barn!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I think it helps? Honestly, I'm not sure if this supplement is helping my horses or not. I put my Quarter Horse in this as a preventative for colic, ulcers, etc, and I added this along with Smartgut to my Thorougbred that had suspected ulcers. My Quarter Horse's condition has stayed the same, and my TB's condition has drastically improved. I just don't know whether it's from the smartgut or this. At any rate, this is an inexpensive supplement that offers electrolytes and digestive/ulcer support, so I'll keep using it as a preventative and as a "peace of mind" supplement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TractGard worked for me. My 17 yr old horse has always been girthy and had colic 3 times in a year. He has always been prone to loose stools and started to colic shortly after worming and in hot and cold weather. I have used Tract Gard for about 2 years now and no more colic and his manure is the best it has every looked in the 13 yrs I have owned him. Not near as girthy as he used to be and seems a much happier horse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from picky horse always eats it I have one of the pickiest horses I've ever known and currently probably the pickiest in a 60 stall barn. He only eats pelleted supplements and if he doesn't like something he might not eat at all. He always eats his Tractgard with no problems. He is a busy show horse so I like that it provides decent electrolyte levels and an antacid. I have been very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Sensitive Digestion This product works very well. I was using SmartDigest but this is less expensive and seems to be just as effective. When I purchased my Spotted Saddlehorse, she had worms and I think it had caused digestive issues. She also had ulcers. She coliced easily and had low engery. The SmartDigest (used for 1 yr) was great. Ulcerguard was good but expensive. She is now only using this product and is doing great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Product! This is a great product. I use this for my 14 year old eventer, who has not shown any signs of ulcers, and I want to keep it that way. Love the fact that it has electrolytes in it and that it is a can't beat the price either!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mulitpurpose Supplement! I have a 7yr old Irish Sport Horse mare, who had major colic surgery as a yearling. I needed a digestive supplement to help prevent future colicing. I am currently training "Addie" to be an eventer, so I also needed an electrolyte and acid buffer to help deal with daily stresses due to weather and training. My mare loves TractGaurd, and never leaves any behind! Great product at a great price.
