In addition to diet and proper hoof care, circulation also plays an important role in hoof health. Poor circulation may exhibit itself in multiple ways, from unhealthy hoof wall to a shortened stride and heel soreness.

SmartSox provides a comprehensive selection of ingredients to help support proper hoof circulation. These include the amino acid arginine, a precursor to nitric oxide, which plays an important role in healthy blood flow; herbs such as yucca, turmeric and boswellia to help alleviate discomfort; potent antioxidants including grape seed extract and vitamin C to support tissue health; and Flo-Ox®, a proprietary blend designed to maintain healthy vascularity.

SmartSox is designed for horses with heel soreness, as well as those with weak hoof wall and poor growth, as a complement to biotin-based hoof supplements.

Please consult with your veterinarian before using SmartSox for horses with laminitis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Navicular Diagnosis My 14 year old quarter horse was recently diagnosed with early stages of navicular and ring bone. He also had to have corrective shoeing put on for a compressed heel and because one of his front legs was apparently longer than the other (hot mess, right?). Anyway, he's been on SmartSox (we just recently inluded SmartFlex Rehab and Smart Hoof Ultra for his supplements) for about a month now and he looks more comfortable when he's on it. There was a period where he was off it for a week and I could tell he looked more sore. It's a great product, but a little pricey and I hope I'll be able to take him off of it once he's fully recovered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well for my Navicular horse!!! I have 14 yr old Appendix gelding who was diagnosed with Navicular Disease in the fall of 2011. He was riding sound at a walk & canter, but was off at the trot anywhere from very slightly to noticeably. I started him on Smart Sox and he was noticeably improved in 2 weeks. I've also been having him trimmed by a natural barefoot farrier, and between that and Smart Sox, he is riding sound nearly 100% of the time!!! Such a relief as he is the type of horse you can trust to throw anybody on-you hate to see a horse like that retired so young! I will be keeping him on Smart Sox for the rest of his life!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a new product for us. My mare has very soft front hooves and the vet said there is possibly poor circulation. I am hoping this product will work for her. We have been at this for 2 years now. I will report on this product later.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from longer stride is back Our mare seemed to be suffering from sore feet, a little ouchy over gravel, somewhat shorter stride. After approx. 7 weeks on smartsox we noticed an improvement in both her stride and walking over gravel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has worked miracles on my mare! I have an off the track TB mare with thin soles. She has been suffering with sore feet for as long as Ive owned her. We have tried special rocker shoes that are supposed to support sole growth, that were very expensive, and had no effect on her soles. We have had shoes on her, but if one fell off, she could barely step on the shoeless hoof. It was always a problem. I had her on different super charged hoof supplements, with extra biotin.... all with no help growing more sole. I figured it wouldnt hurt to try out the smart sox and I am so glad I did! She was able to go barefoot about a week after she got on it! She has been barefoot ever since ( about 8 months so far) with no issues and she is as sound as can be. This is the first supplement that I really saw an immediate and drastic change with. I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing help with thin soled horses!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped with Laminitis My mare foundered this past February. She has been in ultimate wedges and on stall rest since then. I added SmartSox to her supplements two months ago. My farrier had plans to keep her in the wedges until she grew enough new hoof, but when he saw her feet yesterday, he was amazed with her progress! He said whatever I was giving her was working. He plans to consult with the vet, then come back next week to put her in regular shoes.....way ahead of the planned schedule!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Huge help with abscess I had been battling the mother of all abscesses with my OTTB, going on the 4th month. I decided to try smartsox to see if getting some extra circulation in his feet would finally help kick the infection. And I definitely think it helped. As soon as I put him on it he seemed more comfortable, and after a month I finally have a horse that is able to walk again. It's a bit out of my price range to keep him on longterm, but I really do think it played a role in helping my guy beat his abscess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product!! Great product!!! Took my foot sore mare from ouchy to sound in 8 days. A little pricey, but worth the investment on my show horse. On a horse I wasn't trying to show, I probably wouldn't spend this amount of $$ on a supplement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from whoa! This is great! I tried this product for my mare with sore feet and I didn't tell my trainer I had added this to her smartpak. About 3 months into using the Smart Sox pellets, He mentioned to me that her feet were starting to look really good. I told him I had added this product to her supplements and he really thinks it's making a difference. She's not been sore or ouchy at all. She loves the taste too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Noticeable Hoof Growth I bought this for my horse because he was having some issues with his left front. After being on SmartSox Pellets for 2 months, his overall hoof growth was nearly twice what it had been prior. It did take a few days before we could get him to eat the full dose in one feeding though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helped a little My 7 y/o QH has severe navicular changes in his RF. The specialist I took him to was not optimistic, but went ahead and injected the joint. It helped, but he was still very lame. I purchased Smartsox to hopefully make him a little more comforable. I can't say it helped a lot, but I saw a slight improvement. I added Cosequin ASU on the specialist's recomendation, and saw even more improvement. On his good days, my horse is almost sound. The two supplements are kindof pricey, but I'll keep buying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to be helping! I was given a huge supply of SmartSox by a friend of mine. I started giving it to my laminitic/foundered Miniature horse when nothing else seemed to be helping. She went through the winter in misery, but funny enough, radiographs of her hooves showed very little rotation, a nice thick healthy sole, and she had very little to no heat or pulse in her feet. I had 3 vets working on her with no real answers. Blood tests showed an extremely high insulin level, but she was negative for Cushings disease. Even with thick, soft pads taped on her feet, she could not walk. Hoof boots, sole packings, deep cushioned sawdust. Nothing could get that horse comfortable over the winter. She was wearing double sets of cotton socks on her feet and hoof boots because winter cold can have a negative effect on circulation and laminitis. For a couple of months she was on max doses of both Previcox and Bute at the same time, which is very dangerous, but we were on our last hope to try to save her. I had a consult with a vet out East and he told me exactly what to feed her, what amounts, and what supplements to give. He said this was neuropathic pain situation, and not laminitis. But that regime did not help, she got worse. She would lay down for hours and NOT get up. I would only get marginal positive results with her able to hobble around some, and then she would crash again. I tried several highly recommended supplements for insulin resistance with no improvement. On a whim I started her on a double dose of SmartSox both morning and night, since I had such a huge supply. Within a couple of days, I noticed some improvement. She was standing up more, and not rocking back and forth. Over the course of a week, she started walking out pretty darned good and even trotted a few times. I also discovered she had deep thrush and I began to treat that, but I do believe the SmartSox has helped her a lot. I am scared to take her off of it and find out. She is currently just on a double dose in the evening, with a dose of Smart Control IR in her beet pulp. I still have to sprinkle a few oats on top to get her to touch any of it, but she's a very picky eater anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made a HUGE Improvement I recently purchased a quarter horse mare from a friend for my riding program. They were having a hard time keeping her sound- possible navicular issues. With the help from my farrier and SmartSox- she is a TOTALLY different horse! Happy, comfortable and SOUND. No need for bute anymore. :)It's a little pricey- but well worth the money (and peace of mind)!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sounds Like a Great Product Sounds like it would have been a great product but alas my horse would have no part of it. I mixed it into his grain and even tried adding applesauce with it too but no go. SmartPak was really good about it though. I called and was given a credit to try something else. Customer service was great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart Sox I used this when my mare had a case of laminatis, it was amazing, within a week, she was EXTREMELY comfortable, and was running and bucking in her pen. I also got a added benefit, hoof growth. I recommended this product to a friend. My horse shoer is real happy with her feet, she is comfortable before and after shoeing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy horse My mare is remarkably better after Smart Sox. It took about a month and I was about to give up on her being slighty off from navicular changes, when she came out sound. She now is charging at a gallop and has a great long trot trot. Thank you SP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Help our club foot be more normal They say a club foot is caused from poor blood flow and thats why its smaller, dont grow much toe and gets long up right heels. When the foot did grow the toe was brittle and broke off making the foot smaller more odd shape and sore. Thanks to Smart Sox and the use of magnetic bell boots when stalled the foot no longer is brittle, grows, dont have thrush problems and is currently with in 1/8 of an inch being same width as the normal fore foot! We have been on this product 3 months now. Thank you smartpak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to be working!! I have a 22 yo thoroughbred mare with DSLD and I started her on SmartSox about 2 months ago. I do have to say - her fetlocks have actually improved. They are not as swollen and not as far dropped. She is also not as sore as she was before. I'm hoping to see more improvement as time goes on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! My jumper recently began to be sore after his farrier visits (I have been using the same farrier and shoeing the horse the same way). He had started a tougher competition schedule, and a jumper with sore feet is not a good combination! A fellow trainer recommended I try Smart Sox. My horse has had his feet done twice now since starting this product, and he does not seem to be having anymore soreness issues. Smart Sox was the only thing I did differently and I am very pleased! I will be continuing to use this product and would recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product! This product has saved my Paint mare. I went through 3 shoers over a year time-span. After each shoeing she would be lame for anywhere from 3 to 6 days. Since starting this product I can ride the same day she gets shoes! She is very tender footed & even with pads hitting a rock wrong out on the trail would cause her to limp, no more! I saw results within a couple weeks. It is definitely worth trying a months supply to see if it works for your horse. My regular hoof supplement helps increase growth & hoof strength but was doing nothing for her "tenderfootedness."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product This product has done wonders for my western pleasure/hunter under saddle paint mares hooves. She was incredibly sensitive. Even after putting pads on her, if she hit a rock she would limp. I also went through three farriers as she would be lame for days after a shoeing. This product has changed all that. It has given my horse new hooves! I will of course continue her on her hoof supplement also but this product seems to have made all the difference with her sensitivity issues. I saw a difference in just a few days so buying a 30day trial is absolutely worth a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so effective my horse suffers from very flat and thin soles. This product has helped her be more comfortable and her farrier noticed the difference in her hoof hardness. All in all, well worth the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for my picky mare When I added the SmartSox pellets to her oats I couldn't figure out why she stopped eating her bucket feed. I ruled everything out and found it was the SmartSox that she wouldn't touch. After trying to disguise the pellets in molasses and applesauce with no success I took it out and she started eating again. She has severe navicular disease and I thought it would help with the circulation but never got the chance to find out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed! We have been struggling with my OTTB's hoof problems the whole time I have owned him. He had thin flat soles, brittle walls with minimal growth, and a susceptibility to thrush and white line. Therapeutic trimming, hoof boots, SmartHoof Ultra, Keratex, Contender, and countless other treatments have all helped to some degree. He is comfortable on soft footing these days, but is very short strided and takes a long time to warm and move off well under saddle. I was skeptical about trying this supplement, but I wanted to try everything before resorting to perscription meds. He has been getting his SmartSox pellets every day for two weeks now and I was quite surprised about the change it has made! He is more willing to stride out while being led instead of his choppy 'ouchie' steps. I free lunged him several times this week and am so pleased about how much better he is moving. He has much more suspension and stride length in trot, and is landing flat to heel-first on all soft surfaces. I don't think I realized how much hoof soreness was affecting his movement. He has only been on it a short time, but I am hopefully that he will continue to improve and overtime will have changes in the quality of hoof growth. It is quite expensive, but has made more difference than any other one thing we have tried. We will stick with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm a believer!! Oh my gosh. I can't believe this stuff! I have a 16yo Appaloosa gelding with arthritis and navicular. With corrective shoeing, joint supplements (thank you SmartPak!), and bute (with an ulcer supplement), he was getting much better...but he was still always quite lame at the trot on his right front (and refused to canter). He was only able to do light work, very little trotting. So, along came SmartSox...put him on it, he didn't want to eat it at first, but eventually gave in. In a month, no improvement, and kind of forgot about it. About 2 weeks to a month afterwards, I get on him...and I'm just like, "Whoa! What happened?! You're sound!". Then I remembered!! The miracle product! I've never seen him sound, and suddenly he is ALWAYS sound! Right now he is going through Lyme disease, so is sadly lame again (opposite foot, not navicular related at all), but if he hadn't gotten the disease, he would have been showing this weekend because he is so much better. He now goes walk/trot/canter, and we even tried a few small jumps with him. I can't wait for him to get done with his Lyme treatment, so I can see him be so beautifully sound again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only product that works We use this with horses that were on Isoxsuprine and it works better and we can show on it safely. They have regular shoes on , are not lame and no other drugs. Next-We use it for our barrel horses , western pleasure and Hunters when showing, just for added help with keeping oxigine going to those needed parts, from doing hard work.Works for us
