Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Rate Product My horses have been on Sand Clear for several years and have never experienced colic or related problems. Living in Fl. there are times of the year when their paddocks are more sand than grass but with Sand Clear monthly they are just fine. I love the convenience of getting it in a SmartPak.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It was very easy to get all my horses to eat it Our horses ate it very easily. Our old gelding lwft some in the bottom of his feeder but I added another cup of supplements and he eat the rest. The next day he ate it will without any problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective Product I live in an area with sandy/loamy soil. I have always worried about sand colic but now that my mare is getting older, I am especially careful. I find this product effective and my mare laps it up in her daily feed with other supplements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth money Our vet recommends this and we feel it works. We live in northern Michigan where winters are long but we have dry summers, this is when we use it. Follow your vets recommendations for great horse health! We love smart pak, use for our horse and dogs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SandClear Works! My horse ended up with sand colic after being on stall rest with a sand paddock. Unfortunately, I had no prior history with a horse colicing, let alone sand colic and how easy it is to prevent by feeding a Psyllium product. SandClear worked wonders. I could see the sand in her manure! I'd recommend buying pellets over granules. I would not say its 100% picky eater approved; my horses weren't thrilled, but did eat it! If you keep your horse in a sandy area, please save yourself the heartache and use SandClear regularly. Give it a try! (SmartPak is great about returns if your horse doesn't turn out to be a fan of SandClear)-My Vet left a tube of Banamine for me to give my horse, which really helped control my horse's pain level while passing the sand.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Convenient, still not picky eater approved! As I live in a sandy area, Sand Clear is always a good idea and I have used it for several years. This is the first time I tried the pellet purge packs. The 7-day purge pack is very easy to use, super convenient. However, my old gelding who is a picky eater when it comes to supplements. He still picked the sand clear pellets out of his food and would not eat them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good maintenance product With the drought this year, I wanted to use the sand clear in case my gelding ingested too much sand and dirt as he grazed for scarce grass. it was very easy to order and use this along with the other smart pak supplement I give my horse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped Get Rid of My Horse's Upset Summer Stomach! I was encouraged by my vet to do a one week Sand Purge treatment, along with a month or so of ProBios, to treat mild but chronic diarrhea he had been suffering from for about a month in the hot and humid weather. This product was gobbled right up by my horse, easy to serve of course and it was awesome to find just the needed dose through wonderful Smartpaks, as I didn't need a huge container.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value for the money! I lost a mae to colic on 1 Mar 2010. I swore I would do everything possible to prevent that from happening to any of my other horses. We live in SW Georgia and are fighting drought. We have nothing but sand in our pastures. Giving my horses SandClear gives me peace of mind that my horses are getting a product that rids their gut of the sand they might be injesting. I would highly recommend this produc.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sand clear packaging, not so clear I thought I had ordered a tub of sand clear to treat my horses several times. However I received small packets which was enough for one horse for one week, and was exorbitantly expensive considering its limited use. Ordinarily I am very happy with Smart Pak. I am sure I simply looked at the picture and at the price quoted, assumed it was a large tub. You know what assume means.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As per our vet, we have been using sand clear for 10 years. Our dry lot is sandy. The pasture soil is loamy soil. So far I have never had an issue. Our horses spill out their hay form the feeders onto the sand in the dry lot. It took 2 months for one horse to eat the sand clear, now no issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My mares don't like it! Ruby and Lilly won't eat this product. I tried with their grain ration, but still they "picked through it."

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Picky Eater Not-So-Approved I have a 23 year old appendix QH gelding that is moderately picky and he really did not want to eat Sand Clear.Even the pony (who is a PIG), didn't finish it. I'll try mixing it more thoroughly in their pellet ration next time and see if that makes a difference. They will usually eat whatever I put in front of them as long as it's in pelleted form.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Always Use This I always use this sure saves on vet bills. My horses love to pick their excess food up off the ground and by feeding this it makes sure that the sand they pick up clears the sand away. Ever since my first encounter with sand colic in Arizona 18 years ago I've used it every month and haven't seen the vet for this since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Consistent and Reliable This is the best product on the market for clearing sand out of the horse's gut. The horses don't mind eating it and it is easy to measure and feed. I highly recommend using this product each month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sand colic prevention! I've been using this product for about 2 years and love it! My horse eats it right up and she hasn't colicked since I've had her on it (knock on wood!).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value The vet thought my mare might have sand buildup, so he recommended treating her for sand colic. There wasn't a huge difference in her appearance an behavior, but the price was decent so I really don't mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, no problems I purchase the weekly smartpak doseage for two rescued horses: an Arabian stallion, Magic and an aged Percheron gelding, Gentleman at the Beauty Haven Farm Sanctuary. Because they live in a very sandy part of Florida they need Sandclear. They are not thrilled with the flavor, but never reject it. Happy with the product but have to be careful with Gentleman because of possibility of ESPM developing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for my horse I bought the bucket after reading many reviews on how even the pickest horse would eat this.Since I buy buckets I have nightly supplement bags, so I put this in my horses supplement bag for 1 week like it said and during that week plus an additional week my horse would not eat any of her grain. She was on grain strike since she HATED the taste of this. My horse isn't a picky eatter at all when it comes to pellet supplements espeially when the supplements are flavored. It took her a week to finally eat her grain. Since I bought the bucket I had an additonal week/month of supplements left. I gave it to her for the week to see if she would try it again. She is now on grain strike again! I am very unhappy with this product.
