Making SmartPak the place it is today, our team of professionals call on their experiences from the past to round out a truly diversified team. We have been barn managers, freelance trainers, bankers, veterinary assistants, lobbyists, pharmacists, venture capitalists, zoo keepers, software developers, competitive athletes, health care marketers, and research scientists.

Just to make sure we don’t take ourselves too seriously, our employees’ canine friends stick around the office to provide perspective and relief. Being in a dog-friendly work environment provides employees with a sense of relaxation and comfort even when the day is hectic and busy. If you’ve called the SmartPak headquarters, you might have even heard one of our friends bark out a welcoming hello.

Rider-Focused and Other Benefits

In recognizing these amazing assets, SmartPak understands that to be a truly customer-centric company, we must personally be involved in horses, horsemanship, riding events and shows.

To encourage our employees to incorporate their experiences into the company, SmartPak offers a number of rider-focused benefits to support equine-related endeavors, including our Active Riders program. For riders who board a horse and ride regularly, we’ll pay a percentage of the horse’s monthly board or lease in exchange for monthly testing and using SmartPak products and reporting on the results.

Giving Back and Having Fun

Because we at SmartPak work and play hard, we make sure to give play full rein. Our summer events have included company Bar-B-Q’s, boating in Boston Harbor, scavenger hunts in Provincetown, and mechanical bull riding in our parking lot for the Fourth of July extravaganza.

Think the fun stops when the snow comes? No way! SmartPak treks up to Vermont for ski trips or stays in town and dances the night away. Drawing from our individual creativity and imagination, SmartPak employees also host a festive annual Halloween party.

As a values-led company, we also stress the importance of giving back. SmartPak has recently added Wild Fire Relief to its list of charitable donations, which includes Hurricane Katrina Relief, Tsunami Relief, Breast Cancer Research and Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. Thanks in part to customers who purchased our SmartBlue™ products, we were able to donate over $15,000 to Equine Aid charities.

The company has also raised over $50,000 for breast cancer research through sales of its sister product line—the SmartPink ™ line of products. A portion of the profits from these sales are donated to Breast Cancer Research, as are donations raised through the annual events we participate in, like the Annual Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, Boston.
