Great for older horses
This really helps my older horse with the common aches and pains and stiffness that comes with age. He needs less time to walk out of it and I can tell he feels better all around. Great product.

Was helping but...
This supplement was working for my senior to offer additional comfort, however he ended up being allergic to one of the ingredients (either Devil's Claw or Yucca). Yes, very rare but it did happen. Had significant abdominal edema. I'm not going to rank any stars because this supplement will work for other horses. The quality and palatability was good.

BL Pellets Take the Edge Off
My horse has a plethora of problems and I really did not want to go the NSAID route. I have to say this inexpensive "herb" pellet has done the job. My horse moves with so much more comfort and ease.

Bute less pellets
I started my mare on this product because she has stifle arthritis, and some occasional lameness in one front leg. I recently made the desicion to take my mare off this product after she colicked, thankfully it seems to have been only a mild case. This was the only dietary change that had been made in over a year. I had been feeding her the smartpaks for about 3 months with no issues, and there is no way to know if it contributed to her colic but the benefits of the product didn't justify the possible risk. While on this product I only noticed slight positive changes on some days and other days I couldn't tell any difference at all. I really wanted this product to work after reading all the good reviews, but I just didn't see the results that other people reported. Now that I have started trying to do research to see if the product could have contributed to my mare's colic episode I find it alarming how little information seems to be available about possible side effects. I highly doubt that the lack of information means there aren't any possible side effects. The product does seem to be highly palatable, my mare is some what of a picky eater and she never seemed to have any problem with the taste. The smartpak system and autoship were great, and if I ever decide to feed any other supplements I will probably use smartpak again.

Not Enough Devil’s Claw in Maintenance Dose
I purchased this as I had been looking for a low cost Devil’s Claw Supplement. While this is palatable and easy to feed (pellet form) the standard dose doesn’t include nearly enough to manage any symptoms for any standard size horse. Harpagoside is detectable in the blood within 30-60 minutes after administration but at this serving it’s a negligible amount. For improvement of symptoms (or literally any visual detection at all) recommended dosage is 2-4 grams per day. Either consider tripling the dosage under supervision of a vet or get a different Devil’s claw supplement. Unless you have a miniature horse, the 1oz daily scoop is basically just money out of your pocket and no results.

So far so good
I am very happy with the Absorbine Bute-less Pellets. I'm sure it will take a while to see the positive affects but we are loving the monthly shipments. He is having no problem eating these pellets
