Please read carefully, both the usage and washing instructions, before using the product.
All Back on Track products should be implemented gradually. To start with, use the product for a maximum of four hours a day for the first 2-3 days. The body then has the opportunity to familiarize itself with the fabric’s effects.
The reason we recommend starting with a maximum of 4 hours use is that some people experience pain in the beginning. In horses and dogs, it manifests itself as a swelling. This is due to the increased blood circulation, which is actually a good indication that the ceramic fabric is taking effect. This initial pain or swelling can occur anywhere from a few to several hours of use. You should then cease using the product any more that day, and instead introducing it carefully and more gradually over the following days.
After the introductory period you should up the usage to a minimum of 8 hours per day, preferably more. After only an hour or so is often perceived a positive effect on tight muscles and stiff joints. More persistent problems may require several days, usually between 10-20, before the desired result is achieved.
After the introductory period of 2-3 days it is important to continue to use the product intensively at least 10, preferably 20 days, before assessing its impact. Since this ceramic fabric reflects more of the body’s heat radiation as you move, the effect is greatest if you wear the product when active. Back on Track also works when resting, even when you sleep.
Continue to use the product according to the routine you develop, or use it for two weeks and then take a break in the third week, this in order to avoid dependency. The sensitivity of this dependency varies from individual to individual. For maximum effect, the ceramic fabric should be in direct contact with the skin (if necessary, a thin cotton cloth inserted between).
Note: Caution is advised during simultaneous use with liniment or similar, since the effect is amplified. Use the product only as directed and consult a doctor if symptoms persist. Do not use during pregnancy.
Specific instructions for use on horses and dogs:
Keep in mind that the effect of Back and Track increases with movement when the body heat increases, so in addition to using pads and blankets in the stables, the horse can also be allowed to move around with the Back on Track products. Especially suitable in this context is Riding Boots, Leg Wraps, Saddle Pads, Exercise Sheets and Blanket/Sheets.
For long term problems, the horse may need to use Back on Track for an extended period. Use the product for two to three weeks and have a break one week, to see if the symptoms persist.
As a preventive measure, Back on Track can be used with regular breaks. Use Back on Track 1 day before and 2 days after exercise and then stop until the next workout. For warm-up, use 1-2 hours before and 2-4 hours after exercise.
For dogs, one often uses the standard Dog Blanket, which is rain repellent and breaths. However, it should be noted that for long-running problems, Back on Track should be used for several weeks, at least 8 hours per day, with regular breaks in order to achieve the desired results. This means that the dog can use the blanket day and night, indoor as well as outdoor, 24/7. If being used at night, it is probably more comfortable for the dog to wear the Mesh Blanket, which is more adaptable. Alternatively, the dog may be provided with a mattress with "memory foam" or a cover of Back on Track to the sleeping basket. The foam part molds to the body shape and relieves a sore back.
Washing:
Back on Track products can be machine washed up to 86°F or 30°C. Use normal detergents that do not contain bleach or fabric softeners. Air dry only, do NOT tumble dry.
Note: Do not use bleach or fabric softener, or tumble dry. The product should be ironed at a maximum temperature of 122 F The ceramic powder is fused in the fibres of polyester/polypropylene and does not separate when washed. The textile loses efficiency with time and extended use.
The textile is produced in China and consists of 100% polypropylene (PP) with ceramic powder or 50% polyester with ceramic powder and 50% cotton.

Bought for a Collateral Ligament Injury
I bought these about 3 weeks ago for my horse who tore his collateral ligament in his coffin joint. Since wearing them I have noticed that the swelling around his coronary band (where the tear is) has gone down. They do run big though as I ordered a large and they are almost too big for him (he wears an XL in the Davis bell boots).

Giant---will be ordering a smaller set
I bought this for my gelding with mild sidebone. Ideally, I'd like him to wear them 24-7 but he rips anything on his feet off even with wrap last applied. I ordered the large because I typically order xxl in the professional choice bells for my NSH, but these are HUGE. I will be ordering another pair and passing these on to my other gelding. I can attest to the effectiveness yet but I love my other back on track products and hope these work to help him a touch.

Saved my horses feet
My horse had cr*p feet. As much as I love my OTTB, she could not have worse feet. These are the only thing that worked. I tried supplements and gels, but it nothing worked. Her feet stopped cracking and grew back way stronger with these boots. She normally destroys her bell boots within a month, being a 17.3 hand clumsy 7 year old, but after 3 months, they are still in decent shape. LOVE THIS!

another great product
So far they are working great. I have an 8 year old appendix gelding who has navicular in his right front foot. They are keeping his feet comfortable and i can see hes not as ouchy :) I also have the back on track sheet and western saddle pad. I want to save up to get the leg wrap boots. He is 16.2 hands and i bought a size medium ( thats the size i use with profescional choice bell boots ) they were way to big. Size small fits perfect. This was just day 1 of him using the boots in the picture.

Quality BOT product
As several others have said, I believe these are made more for therapeutic purposes than turnout. I personally would not expect these to hold up as well other brands especially for a horse that be rough on them (like them!). I also agree that they run big. My guy wears a size 6 Easy Boot and I originally purchased a large and exchanged for a medium. I purchased for a horse will chronic sore feet to use in conjunction with isoxuprine. I have used other BOT products and have been pleased, I expect no less more these bell boots.

I ordered these as a way to help with healing after a high DDFT tear. My horse was also blocking out low in his foot around the coffin joint, so I figured these couldn't hurt to add to my arsenal. He's a large in most bell boots and he was in these as well. I have to disagree that they run big. I ordered mediums initially based on the other reviews and had to exchange them. They didn't even go all the way around. These are not meant for hard riding, but they work for in stall, hand walking, and light hacking. Keeping the therapeutic benefits of the fabric on the injured areas is proving to be helpful in speeding my guy's injury.

Another great BOT product.
I bought these bell boots a month ago for my filly who is recovering from a keratoma. So far I'm pleased with them in terms of fit and durability (she only wears them in the stall). Long term, I'm hoping the increases blood flow and circulation helps limit her inflammation and helps her regrow tissue faster.

Great Product
I bought these to help with a horse that has hoof issues to help increase blood flow to the hoof. So far they must be working because he wants to take them off. So he is tied up when he has them on. Have been still in the introductory period so hopefully once he gets used to them he will leave them alone.

Not great
I bought these boots for my mare because it was a "Back on Track" product. She has chronic lameness due to DDFT injury and must live in bell boots because of corrective shoeing and being mostly stall bound. The small size was way too big and shavings got stuck inside the boot and irritated her. I went back to traditional bell boots.

Great Product
I bought these bell boots to use on my horse who has a severe tear of the medial collateral ligament in the coffin joint and needed to go on stall rest. These boots get him the needed circulation to the hoof for healing while he can still be on stall rest! I noticed from other reviews that the sizing runs large so although my horse is a 16.3 warmblood, I ordered the medium and they fit perfect

These boots are great for increasing circulation, but they do run VERY large. I ordered a size small for my quarter horse who usually takes a size medium bell boot and they are still way too big on her.

BOT bells
I bought these boots about a month and a half ago for my new m1.30 mare who has a summer sore near her coronet band and sensitive skin. I am not a believer in BOT products in terms of their "magical ceramic dust" or whatever. So for that, I think the boots are far overpriced. However, I leave these bells on my mate 24/7 - yes, even in (dry) turnout and while riding. They run large but the Velcro is extremely sticky. I like them because they cover my mare's shoes so she can't rip her shoes off. I also like them because they do not rub her sensitive skin in any way shape or form. Considering how much I've used them, they've held up so far. I wouldn't say they are a therapeutic bell boot though.

Greatest bell boots!
I bought these bell boots because the Davis boots always caused edema around my horses pastern and coronet bands no matter how loose I tried to put them on. This is no longer a problem or concern with BOT Bell Boots. They do not collect my bedding but my horse wears them mainly for turnout times. Love them and plan on getting them for my other horses too.

Attractive, but not durable
I bought these bell boots before a show recently; the show was very rainy all three days. We used them four times, each in rainy conditions. By the end of the weekend, the inside of the boots were totally ruined. Also, a size Large was much too big for my 18 hand warmblood!

Love these boots!
I bought these a couple of weeks ago to go with the BOT quick wraps that I have. If you order them, order a smaller size. My quarter horse gelding wears sz L in Professional's Choice and Classic Equine bell boots. The large boots are huge. I had to exchange mine for a medium which is still a little big on him but they work great. I put the bell boots on and then the quick wraps.

Overall I like the product. I can actually feel the heat these products generate, which gives me peace of mind in knowing that they are doing what they are supposed to do. However, they are enormous. I think the smalls would fit even a warmblood. They are far too big for my smaller Quarter Horse.

They are OK
Much more impressed with the BOT leg wraps, but I think these still work. I ordered mediums for my average size Quarter Horse and they are HUGE! I have to tape them on with electrical tape . . . other then that pretty happy with them.

These seem well-constructed and tough. The velcro is super sticky. My horse has been on stall rest for a few months, and am hoping the Back on Track fabric will put him back on track!
