Love the carbon fiber look
Helmet is very comfy. My hat size is 6 3/4 so I went with the Medium and added in the extra padding they provided. Fits great now. Light weight and venting should help on those hot and humid days. Cute color choices.

Good protection pretty color

Best helmet for schooling!
I bought this helmet in matte black at my local tack store a few weeks ago and I'm so glad I did! I have always used Troxel helmets and they were very unflattering on me. This helmet actually looks good, and I love how protective it is for the back of the head. I recommend this helmet 100%!

Super comfortable, fun colors!
I really like this helmet for several reasons- it comes down just a bit more in the back, so it really protects the back of the head. It is lightweight, and has lots of air vents, so it keeps your head cooler. Comes with foam inserts so you can customize the fit! It is very comfortable, and came in a variety of nice colors. I was able to get purple!

Excellent helmet for riding

Came Highly Recommended
While I haven't yet used my new Tipperary helmet, for those of you who measure just between medium and large sizes, the medium fit me perfectly (and my head shape is more oval than round). It's quite snug but very comfy and the padding has just enough give to keep it firmly in place. As to being lightweight and well ventilated, the Sportage came highly recommended by several endurance riders and they should certainly appreciate those qualities!

Love it!!!!
I have been looking for a light weight and breathable helmet for awhile now and so glad I tried this on at a local tack store. I have a very small narrow oval shaped head and tend to be hard to fit, the x-small in this fits me perfect ( I wear a 6 5/8 in Charles Owen Jr8). I love the venting in this and the low profile look.

This helmet saved my noggin
I am on my second Tipperary Sportage. I trail ride mainly. One year ago I was doing some transitions on the flat with my gelding. Some how picking up a canter from a walk he managed to stumble and toss me forward as he himself came down on his face. He flung me so hard his bridle came completely off with me. I landed square on the crown of my head as I cartwheeled over. Outwardly, only some mud was visible but I replaced the helmet with another. I chose Tipperary again due to how well it held up and cushioned my landing. The cover for the chin strap is unraveling from the Velcro so I don’t mess with it much. It fits quite comfortably and he padding is adjustable. I am prone to tension headaches and frequent migraines. I have to be cautious with hats and headbands. I honestly forget that it’s on until I bump the door frame of my car when I’m leaving the barn. I will continue to buy this brand of helmet and am currently eyeing the hybrid model. I love the blue so maybe they will tone down the royal with a navy shade soon. I never rode with a helmet until the last two years and now I won’t mount up and hack out on any horse without one. Nope, nope, nope. Thanks SmartPak for carrying an affordable and quality helmet.

Nice helmet
I purchased this along with a few other helmets, to try fit. This ended up going back, because the strap was set at an awkward place for me, and it cut into my throat. I found the large logo on the front a little obnoxious, but other than that, the helmet was nice quality and fit my big head.

Great Helmet
This is my 2nd Tipperary helmet. I previously used a T2 helmet and made a HellHat with it. I like the Sportage best. I bought this helmet to make another HellHat. It has a smaller visor than my T2 did, which I prefer for the HellHat. This helmet has a lot of ventilation slots in it, great for my summer trail riding. This helmet was made in March of 2017. I will get to use this one the full 5 years before I change to another. Very Happy with my purchase!

LOVE this helmet!
This is the second one of these helmets that I've bought, my first having gone through 7 years of riding, plus several international flights and two moves. This helmet is fantastic! First, if you have a more oval-shaped head like I do, this will fit great. It's actually one of very few schooling helmets that does fit! I especially like the shaping for the ears and how it cups the back of my head. The vents are also wonderful if you're like me and tend to get heat stroke in the summer. All in all, a wonderful schooling helmet for a decent price.

The Best!

Exactly what my grandson ordered for his birthday!
I originally ordered this riding helmut but it was the wrong size. Silly me! SmartPac was so understanding and easy to deal with although it was my mistake. They refunded my money and reordered the correct size and shipped it ASAP for my grandson's birthday. Thank you SmartPac and the new helmut fits perfectly!

Weird sizing
I had an old Tipperary that I love, love, loved. Lightweight, cool, safe. So now that it's time to replace it I was determined to get a new one. My head is a 7-1/4 size. In my old helmet, a Medium fit. So I ordered a medium without even thinking to check the size chart for the newer ones: way too tight. Even the large was too tight. 3rd try (thanks Smartpak, you are the best) the XL was too big and, although I could have made it work with the included padding for a custom fit, it literally looked like I was wearing a lampshade on my head! I looked ridiculous. So disappointed. The quality and the safety are what I wanted but I do not understand what they did with the sizing since last time I bought this brand.

So far its the best helmet I have worn
I had a riding accident which made getting a new helmet necessary. I looked at all of them in this price point and decided I liked the style and the positive reviews. I took the sizing chart seriously and ordered a M when I am usually a S or XS. It fits me like a glove and is very comfortable. Unfortunately, I have not been able to return to riding yet. But I am sure it is very well ventilated for our hot humid FL climate.

Saved my life
The 3rd time I wore my new helmet my horse stumbled and fell at a fast trot. I went over him and hit directly on my head. While I was injured (broken nose and wrist), I suffered only a mild concussion from a very bad fall. They replaced it and I'll never wear a different brand of helmet. It did its job perfectly and the service was great.

Lightweight and good airflow
I bought this to replace my very pretty embossed leather popular brand helmet - pretty but HOT and heavy. The Tipperary is quite a bit lighter, easy to adjust for fit, and has much better airflow.

I bought a Tipperary Helmet last year. A few weeks ago my mare tripped and I went off and hit the back of my head on a tubular steel gate. The dropped back shell kept me from having a head injury. I bought this helmet for my son who recently took on two horses from a friend that had passed away from cancer. Neither horse had been ridden much since her diagnosis and I wanted him to have good protection.
