Perfect for my young guy!
I bought this on an impulse as I was going to try to rig up my older horse’s horse size halter for my young paint who has a small and refined head. No matter what I did I could not make that halter fit, so I wanted something nice that would fit my young paint. This was perfect! It looks so good on him! I even got the engraved plate with his registered name on the cheek piece and it’s perfect! My paint is officially part of the cool kids club now, hehe.

Really nice halter for a great price!
The leather is good quality; a little stiff out of the box, but it's softening up. The engraving looks so classy! I have a 15.2hh TB with a delicate face, so I got the cob size and it fits perfectly.

beautiful and high quality!!
I bought this halter for my daughter’s mare. We bought a similar one from Smartpak 6 years ago for our beloved horse that passed a year ago, and it was also great quality and even after years of wearing it, the leather still looks great. We’ve had more expensive leather halters before and the leather ends up looking worn and stitches unravel, and that has not happened with these. We are super happy with our purchase and I highly recommend!

The brown halter came quite a bit darker than I was expecting, still looks nice though. Out of the package it seemed a bit stiff, I’m sure it will soften with use and some conditioner. It also smelled like dye, hope that goes away soon. Overall appears to be well made and I can’t wait to use it on my horse.

Beautiful Halter
We ordered this halter to for our little one to open as a surprise to tell her she got her very own horse. The halter is absolutely beautiful! It was a little saturated with dye, but after a good scrub it wasn’t seeping anymore. I would definitely recommend this halter. Good quality, beautiful, and good price.

Beautiful Halter!
I have to say, I've always had excellent experiences with SmartPak and this is just another example of one. I purchased this halter with the intent of using it only for horse shows and shipping. After 10 years, it was time for a new leather halter. I have to say, I am very impressed with the quality and how the engraving came out. The Havana color looks beautiful on my mare. The halter seems very durable and like it will last us for years to come. I can't wait to use this!

Exceptionally Nice
Purchased the Cob size for my hard to fit Mammoth Donkey. Wasn't really expecting much but was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Since it is adjustable it fits him perfectly. It is very high quality and the leather is extremely nice and the hardware is heavy duty. Will buy another when they go on sale.

Great quality for the price!
Bought this halter about a month ago. Someone else in the barn owns one and I liked the quality of the leather and how well it had held up for her. Best leather halter for the price. Mine has gotten wet, been outside all day, and it still looks and feels great!

Terrible
When I received this halter my first impression was how unattractive it is, 2nd impression was how the white stitching was red. Obviously the dye leaked, so I decided to clen it before putting on my chestnut with white stripe. I now have a halter that ranges from light tan to dark brown depending where most of the dye came off. This is a horrible halter, don't buy it.

Overall pretty good
I love the look and feel of the leather and it fit my horse perfectly. The only problem I found is that the leather dyed my horses fly mask red/brown where the color bled out a bit.

Beautiful leather halter
I ordered this halter for my two year old quarter horse filly. She has a small head, and I wish I would have ordered it in a cob size, but other than that, the halter itself is beautiful and wonderful quality. I also ordered a nameplate and it turned out great.

Just as advertised
While everything they claim is true (attractive, supple, quality fittings, true to size, etc.) what I didn't expect is how much it weighs... I was surprised at how heavy it was. This could be a positive attribute to some shoppers, as it's a sign of sturdiness, but it turns out it was too heavy for what I was looking for. Also, side note: it smelled quite strongly like motor oil, even after being in the open air for a week. But these things would not be serious shortcomings if I didn't have such a delicate horse. :-) So I would still recommend it, and it would look even sharper with a name plate!

Holds up awesome.
I bought this product a little over a year or to ago and it has held up under some less than kind conditions, including accidentally being left out in the rain overnight. I remember the leather being new but good quality when I first got it but it has softened up to absolute butter now and has shown no sign of fading despite being conditioned less than probably once a month. 10 out of 10 would buy again.

I needed a turnout halter as one of my horses was on its last leg. The horses halters are really used in all weather at our barn, and they are hung buy the pastures from four in the evening to the morning in sun, rain, humidity, snow and ice. I like that Smartpak leather halters are so well constructed down to the solid brass fittings.
I do like the triple stitched halter a little better, but, these double stitched ones were on sale and are really a nice halter for the price. You can’t go wrong with the Smartpak leather halters!

pony sizes need help
I bought the s/m pony size for my 12.1h welsh pony. It was way too small. The headstall needed at least an additional 3 inches to fit comfortably.Returned and going to try the large pony size and hope its not too big. Love the quality of the leather and how supple it is right out of the box.

Looks Beautiful!
This is a lovely halter. I was debating whether to get a more expensive one, but since my horse will really only wear this at shows I opted for this one. It looks great! Can't comment on the durability just yet but I'm really happy with the initial quality. Being able to have the nameplate come with it is a total plus. They are a pain to attach yourself. As usual, SmartPak doesn't disappoint.
