Love!
When I first opened the box I said "holy moly, those are wide!!!!" I wasn't sure they would work out. However, after trying them a few times now, I love them! My ankle, knee, and hip pain is gone. My heels are deep. No complaints!

Great stirrups!
I was looking for more stability in the saddle because I ride a young pre-green horse and heard great things from others at my barn about the MDC ones. Even though they seem more expensive, it was totally worth it! Wish I had bought them sooner!

Great stability!
I bought these stirrup irons for my daughter and she loves them. She says they offer great support and stability while jumping. Her trainers love the feel as well and plan to get some as well.

Nice stirrup!
I recently purchased this stirrup in hopes to save some money. I was originally looking at the Stubben 250 model which is very similar. I do like this stirrup just as much and I have so much money!

Best stirrup for me
I need to use wide tread stirrups for painful feet. I've tried many of the "composite" brands, but these are by far the best for comfort, and look better for showing too. Keeping my stirrups is not an issue for me, so can't comment on which works better for that. Love 'em!

Felt secure!
At 59 I have been riding a long time. I finally updated my stirrups not thinking that it would make that much difference, but I was wrong. Theses stirrups are great! I felt really secure and in control jumping. Just wish I had gotten them a few years back!

I have ridden previously in my trainer's Jin stirrups, and loved the wider footbed. However, I wanted a more traditional look for the hunter ring. These stirrups do just that - and at a lower price point!

Beautiful WIDE Stirrups!
I've been looking for a classy pair of stirrups to replace my old jointed pair and after lots of hunting I found these! I show in the big eq and junior jumpers and wanted to upgrade my stirrups. They were a splurge but from the reviews and pictures I figured they'd be absolutely perfect. However, I missed the memo that the footbed would be SO WIDE! Almost 4 inches! Don't get me wrong, I know that's the style now and I love how they feel, but my trainers think they are too wide for the equitation. While I am definitely keeping them, I have to find replacement treads that are standard size (which do exist through MDC...) I would have appreciated knowing that these stirrups had extra wide treads before hand, though! Or it would have been nice if SmartPak offered those replacement treads too (wink wink). However... That's just one "misunderstanding" issue on my part, so that doesn't take away from these beautiful stirrups!

These stirrups are great for the Hunter and equitation rings. They have super grip, even in wet weather and have the classic look that can work in all the rings. Very comfortable on the ankles. I'm very happy with my purchase.

MDC Hunter Classic Stirrup
I ordered these thinking they came with the thinner/narrow stirrup pad but it came with the comfort pad which is wider. I don't feel I can put my weight in my heel as well as with a classic pad but they definitely provide stability. You can buy the narrow stirrup pads for these stirrups but they are not available at SmartPak. The stirrup irons are beautiful, great quality though a bit heavier then the normal traditional stirrup.

Love these Stirrups!
I bought these when I needed more traditional looking stirrups for an equitation class. I had loved my other stirrups, and these are my new favorite! My trainer loves them and so do the other boarders at my barn I am so happy I purchased them!

Nice classic looking alternative to composites
I normally use the popular composite irons but bought these for a clinic to avoid being called out for using trendy plastic irons - silly, but it happened last time, and I just don't want to live it again. They're really great - heavier weight so you can pick them up easily if you lose them (hasn't happened to me as they are quite sticky) and still provide a good solid feel and grip. Love them. Also since they're not cheese grater, there's no chance they will leave teeth marks on my boots like the others did:(

I love these Stirrups!!
I needed more traditional hunter stirrups, but liked the wide base of my RRs. I bought these and tried them. I love them. They are great support and my foot never slips out of them.

Really Nice Overall Hunter Stirrup
This is a really nice stirrup for jumping. I had never used a wide grated stirrup before and I am really pleased. It keeps my feet in the correct spots over the jump and it also looks very stylish. My trainer who is used to the normal stirrup rode in my saddle with the stirrups and fell in love. They are pricey but overall i think they are worth it.

The stirrups are fantastic. I can place my foot in the stirrups and a fantastic sense of security. Jumping over fences never felt better and safe. These stirrups are quality and I would recommend them to anyone.

Perfect
I've been riding in my trainer's Jin stirrups for several months, and fell in love with the wider footbed. However, I much prefer a more traditional look and feel, so I was really happy to find these. They have the same weight as traditional fillis irons, and the footbed is comfortable and even more grippy than the Jin stirrups. These are also much more affordable as well. For me there is no contest, these are definitely the best stirrups I've ridden in.

Good Idea, but needs improvement.
I bought these stirrups because I have been riding in my royal riders (non flexible) stirrups for the past 5years. Their classic look really appealed to me along with the wider footbed and sort of grated surface. When they finally came I couldn't wait to try them and I HATED them! Not only are they fairly heavy but they felt HUGE (even though they were the same size as my others 4 3/4) I constantly felt like I was "reaching" for them and they were big and bulky. They also don't provide much grip. Please buy the Royal Riders, I am back using my royal riders and appreciate them more then ever! I wish SmartPak carried the "Jin" stirrups, as I would like to try them.

Best Stirrups!
I tried these stirrups at a show before I ordered them. I was using the Royal Rider flex stirrups and my right one snapped and broke in the warm up ring. I borrowed these MDC's from another rider in our barn and immediately loved them. Well made, the wide footbed is fabulous, really gives your leg a nice base of support. I'm very impressed with the design. A+
