get the next size larger
Good value and looks great - however, I wish I took other's advice and ordered the next size up - I didn't. I measured exactly, and ordered the correct size - which did NOT fit - returned without any hassle and the next size up was perfect.
Haven't tried them out yet (weather rotten for riding, and no indoor facilities) but seems OK - I gave 3 stars (average) for durability, but i dont really know yet.

Snug fit
I measured for these half chaps very accurately, and yet I still had to send them back for the next size up. There was absolutely NO hassle about the return, in fact, I received the replacement shipment before I even sent back the original order! I would recommend (as did MANY others) to save yourself some time and aggravation, order the next size up. have not gotten a chance to use them yet, but I'm thinking they will become easier to zipper once I have them broken in a while.

Half Chaps
I had been looking forever for half chaps tall enough for me (6 ft). Finally found this brand at a local tack store in the right calf width but not the height. Was told they could order them from Tredstep and have them to me in 6-8 weeks!
Went to my every reliable SmartPak site and there they were - AND they could be shipped out immediately!
Love, love, love this half chap - got the brown just for something different to have and everyone comments on them. They fit great and the elastic panel ensures a snug fit. They were hard to zip the first day but that has gotten easier with each use as they loosen up. They do no creep like my last pair and they fit so much better than the so called custom half chaps I had made and then returned.

Fairly Good
I bought these half chaps about a month ago and they are holding up pretty good with 4-5 days of riding a week. The only thing I would say about them is that they run a little large, I wish I had ordered one size down both in width and height from what I measured.

Nice product
I bought these based on reviews here. They replace my Ariat half chaps. I like these better. Nice looking, comfy, seem durable. As others have noted, do order one size up for calf size.

Order a size up
Great value. I highly suggest to order the next width size. Other brands have fitted to a tee and I was able to wear chaps over slim jeans. Otherwise that are great value.

Tight calf fit
My calf width measured 13 inches. I ordered the 13 width. I would recommend ordering a size up, especially if you want to wear them over jeans or bulkier breeches. Otherwise an excellent buy.

Nice product.
I like everything about the chaps, but cannot comment on the durability, since I have used them so far just 3-4 times. (I received them 2 weeks ago)
I measured 1 in. too long, from the back of the knee to the heel on the floor. I should have measured to the bottom of the ankle bone instead. Other than that, they are a pleasure to wear.

Everything I needed
Finally a pair of chaps, that would fit my short, muscular build. The price is great, and these chaps look amazing. So easy to keep clean as well. They've handled the washer just fine, to get the tough stuff off, but for the majority of the time, just a stiff brush works wonderfully at getting them clean. These have handled about 2 years of the abuse I've put them through, and are still going strong. A must have, highly suggested.

Good Value
I love these half-chaps - this is my third or fourth pair (in about 20 years). They are very comfortable, not too hot in the summer, and functional without being flashy. The parts don't all hold up as well as the leather: the first feature to go is the elastic band under the foot, but it's no problem to do without that. The next thing that breaks is the little snap-on strap that protects the zipper pull. I've gone on to wear them for years without this too. What finally sends me looking for a new pair is when the zipper breaks, but considering that I wear them every day all year, I think I get good value.

Best half chaps!
I've been riding in these for a couple of years now and am ordering another pair. My 1st pair has been given a lot of abuse and is still going strong! They do give quite a bit, so order a snug size and they will break in to fit your leg perfectly. Never had a problem with the snap or zipper which is a big deal with half chaps.

Great Fitting
I actually ordered the 15/17 and they were too tall - must have been dreaming that my legs were that long! I have since reordered the same chaps in a 15/16. The sizing is kind of generous - I have a 14.5" calf and the 15" has a good amount of room. In other words, I don't feel like a sausage casing!

Those Darn Snaps
Love the fit and feel of these half chaps but in less then a year of owning them the bottom snap has broken off each side. I ended up cutting the tab off so that it wouldn't flap around while I ride. Not sure if this is a common problem but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another pair in the future.

I LOVE these half chaps. Tredstep is the only brand I could find that makes my height/width combination and SmartPak was the only retailer that carried that combination. I am very pleased with my new half chaps :)
Only time will tell how durable they are, but so far, so good.

Nice Chap, Runs Small
Excellent quality half chap, good construction. The elastic gives them a custom fit. However, they run quite small. My calf measures just over 15". I ordered the 16" and couldn't get the zipper ends even close. The 17" is a tight squeeze but I can get it on.

Fits like a "glove"
This has been my top choice in a half chap ever since I was introduced to them on my college riding team years ago. They fit like a second skin for maximum comfort and great performance. They give amazing grip and are the least bulky half chap I have found. They outlast other half chaps by far, as this is only my second pair in six years, riding appx. five days a week! I would recommend these to anyone, they are by far my favorite on the market.

Very good half chaps
Very well made.
I like they carry a wide range of size. My lower leg is on the wide-but-short end. It is hard to find a fit half chap, and this one fits snugly.
I agree with others though, the bottom snap is kind of tricky.

Grease the snaps
Love the semi-custom fit of these half chaps, and have been using them for years. One tip to newbies: grease the snaps at the bottom before using them. I failed to do this on my first pair and ended up ripping the snap right off! Lesson learned!

Very Happy
I got these last summer, and have been very happy with them. First of all, I like that there is such specific sizing on it. I'm pretty tall, so normally my half chaps don't go high enough. That's not the case with these. They fit great, and I love the close feel, and grip, they give me. I'd definitely recommend them.

Finally found a perfect fit!
These are the most comfortable half chaps! It's awesome that you can pick your size! I had a hard time finding chaps to fit around my calf. And when I did find something to fit my calf, they would be too long and cover my knee. I would highly recommend this product to any of you that are having the same issues I had!

I love this product!
I've never used half chaps before and so I tried these and I was very impressed. They gave me great grip around my calf and fit comfortably. They were very easy to put on and off but the bottoms can be hard to snap if they are not placed right. Overall, they hold their quality and I was happy with the product. I use them all the time!
