Rubbish didn’t last a week
Bought in clearance. Ask about warranty told I would only be refunded clearance price not full. No problem blanket went on with in 2; bourse leg strap clip broke. 3 days later stitching on bottom seam has come away. Even on clearance doesn’t hold up and if they do honor their warranty think how often you’d be returning it

Didn’t even last a month
I bought this blanket a little over a month ago from my horse that loves to be naked. Have not heard back on how to exchange for the warranty. If they honor the warranty with no house so I’m happy to reevaluate this review.

It’s very nice, but not strong enough
I have bought at least four or more of these blankets and they are nice, but not strong enough for my four horses. My horses range in age from four to fifteen and are not really rough on there blankets, but they are horses and like to rub their itches just like people do. They don’t have hands so they rub on walls and fences. I have pipe fencing and a newer wood barn that they will rub on. The piping on the edges get caught and rips and opens up the stitching which then causes problems with the blanket. I love the ten year warranty and have sent them back multiple times in the last one to two years of use for replacements. It takes a couple weeks or more to get a replacement and I have to clean them up before they are shipped back. It’s trouble, but in the end I do get a new replacement. I now have to buy 1680 denier blankets somewhere else since they are cheaper priced, don’t have piping on the seem edges and last longer then these that are
only 1000 denier. They don’t have a ten year warranty, but who cares if they last!

Reliable and comfortable
This blanket fits my horse well.He also looks great with it on.It keeps him dry and CLEAN even when he rolls in the mud.oh and the 10 year warranty WOW.Smartpak is the ONLY place I buy all of my blankets.Their customer service is so accomodating,they KNOW horses too.

Just ok...
I ordered a size 75" & 78" because the reviews said they run big. My horses measures a size 77". I had intended to buy the 78" but just in case I ordered both sizes.
All in all the overall quality was just ok for me, I have been used to The Kensington blankets in the past & the quality of the fabric is far superior to the Smartpak blanket, however it was the 10yr warranty that caught my eye & the great price.
The fit was not great on my horse. The 75" fit him perfectly in the back & hind end etc but the front wouldn't close way to small up front. The 78" fit nicely in the front but the rest of the blanket was massive.
My horse is 16.1h lean & athletic build, not overly muscular in the shoulders, not under fed either.
If it would have fit I would have purchased, mainly because of the warranty.
My horse is not rough on blankets at all, he out grew the current one. The waterproofing has gone now after 4yrs.

SO SO GOOD
Really can’t beat the ultimate series from Smartpak. My horse is destructive and this sheet managed to last him 2.5 seasons. He finally destroyed it this year and a new one was on my doorstep I’m less than a week. Thank you to Smartpak for your excellent customer service.

4 Year Old Warmblood Safe
After my toddler warmblood played the game you can't make me wear this with his last two blankets, I purchased the SmartPak Ultimate Turnout Sheet. He is currently going on 27 days of still wearing it! (The previous record; hand-me-down last 2 days and the new Centaur 1200D Waterproof Turnout Sheet, 6 days!) I am quite ECSTATIC with how well the SmartPak Ultimate Turnout Sheet is made. The toddler is less excited! Thank you so very much for making a quality product. I have since ordered the medium weight for next year after conquering clipping!

Strong fabric but cheap hardware
For most horses, this will likely be a durable item. My gelding is an expert blanket shredder. After I got fed up repairing his other blankets, I decided to invest in this one. After two days, this blanket was on the ground. The fabric held up but the front buckles and their straps had come clean off. Not happy to be back to sewing! Reached out to SmartPak since it’s warrantied but have not heard back.

New Ones Much Lower Quality
I have a few of these blankets that are several years old and have held up to heavy use every winter since I purchased them. This winter I bought all new blankets for my horses and they aren’t the same quality as the older ones. I’ve had 3 new blankets and a neck cover rip in the past couple months. My horses aren’t particularly hard on their blankets (last years blankets still look great) so I’m not sure what’s going on. They tend to rip at the buckles so that must be the weak spot. Overall I’m disappointed in the new ones because I have fully body clipped horses and need reliable blankets that aren’t always being repaired to keep them warm. Smartpak customer service is amazing as always and has been great about replacing them but I wish they didn’t have to so often.

Durable but loses water repellency
I bought this sheet for my 16.0hh TB gelding a year ago. It fits well and worked perfectly for the first spring/fall for rainy days. I sent it to be professionally cleaned and re-waterproofed, and despite that, this fall it has lost a good amount of its water repellency. Slight drizzles are fine but any prolonged rain leaves my horse with a cold, wet back. There are better sheets for the price.

Cant beat the 10 year warranty
First rain of the season and last years sheet left my horse soaking wet. A friend recommended this product. I ordered it that night and it arrived within a couple of days. Fit was perfect, quality great, my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner.

Very tough blanket
I bought my first SmartPak turnout years ago. Because of the fit on my horse and the durability of the blanket I have ended up with 3 blankets each a different weight. Also the customer service has been exceptional. I emailed SmartPak about a front clip that broke on my blanket, but forgot to mention which blanket! They ended up sending me a new front buckle and colored strap for each of my blankets.

Quality, durability of Ultimate turnout sheet
I purchased for the 1st time this turn out sheet. Overly impressed and wish I had considered the SmartPak ultimate years ago. I used to buy Pessoa, Rambo etc. I was blown away by the material, waterproof fabric and binding durability. You can not go wrong purchasing this blanket, free shipping return if you do not like the turn out sheet or blanket and the company stands behind the blanket for 10 years. Order one for yourself and be amazed at the quality. Sometimes SmartPak offers a limited edition color beyond the boring black, navy and green and they stand out. Unbeatable deal

My horse is going into his 6th winter with one of each weight. For a playful horse they have all held up well, and when we've needed to replace them, the customer service has been top notch, always! My most common problem has been that the D ring connecting to the neck rug comes off. Since this isn't patchable, I'm grateful for the replacement guarantee and knowledgeable customer service! Why does anyone buy other brands?!

Great fit on my high withered horse.

Love love LOVE this blanket!
I have been using Smartpak Ultimate blankets for my horses for years. I bought one for my first horse back when I was a teenager, and bought one again in 2014 for a horse that liked to destroy blankets.
This blanket is truly indestructible. None of my horses have ever been able to rip the blanket itself. A strap was ripped off of one of mine, and Smartpak replaced it for me and even sent another blanket for my horse to use while I was waiting. The second one, which I got in 2014, just lost its waterproofing. Smartpak is replacing it with a brand new blanket for free.
Honestly it doesn't get any better than that. For a couple hundred bucks (which is, I know, kind of steep, but you can often get them on sale!) you are guaranteed to have a blanket for TEN YEARS. That is the best value you could ask for. And the customer service is amazing (as Smartpak's service always is). I recommend this blanket to everyone!!
