The SmartPak Deluxe High Neck Turnout Blanket is designed to give your horse a superior fit with uncompromising quality and construction. This blanket features a high neck that gives your horse more protection from inclement weather as well as providing a great fit for horses with high withers. It also boats a 1200 denier ripstop polyester outer layer that is tough enough to stand up to winter’s worst. Plus, it’s waterproof and breathable to keep your horse warm, dry, and protected throughout the colder seasons. Additionally, the silky nylon lining will be smooth and comfortable against your horse’s coat and help prevent rubs. Generous shoulder gussets give him the room he needs to move freely and comfortably. You’ll love the quick-clip front closures that make taking this blanket on and off a breeze and, combined with cross-belly surcingles and nylon/elastic leg straps, provide a secure, adjustable fit. Last but not least, a roomy tail flap provides additional protection from wind, rain, and cold weather.

Perfect for New England Winters
Winters in New England are not for the faint of heart, and with my horse turning 28 this year keeping him warm and dry is a top priority. This blanket ensures both, no matter what the weather! The high neck design is perfect for turnout to help keep snow or other precipitation out. It provides more coverage for the neck and keeps him a bit warmer compared to a standard neck while also creating less wither pressure. I have the medium weight version of this blanket, but it also comes in a light or heavy weight, which are perfect for warmer or colder climates.
This blanket provides generous coverage with the high neck and large tail flap. My horse wears his normal size which is 78" and it fits him well with a little room to spare. If your horse is between sizes, you may want to size down as this does run slightly large.
This blanket can be cleaned using a blanket wash or by sending it out to a professional cleaner. If you do wash it yourself, you'll just want to make sure not to use the dryer at all as it will compromise the waterproofing.
This blanket is the perfect choice to help keep your horse warm and dry throughout winter weather. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top quality turnout blanket. The navy and burgundy color is gorgeous as well!

Fit very well, warm enough in subzero temps
I bought this blanket a month ago for my 5-year-old Thoroughbred when the IL temps went below zero. He's 17 HH with a good sized barrel (NOT a hard keeper), and several other blankets were too short on him. I like the length, and the high neck is great. He looks like he has a shark fin when he's eating, so good for a chuckle. The length seems true to size (he's always an 81). His pasture mate tore off the pipping day 1, but luckily it isn't integral to the function. Overall happy to have it for occasional use.

So Disappointed - Both sheets are defective!
I'm so disappointed. I bought a regular turnout sheet and a 100g sheet on 1/6/2021. My horse has worn the regular turnout sheet maybe 10 times and I found him in his field completely soaked on his back when it rained for only 10 minutes! Then fast forward 2 weeks and the buckle on my 100g sheet broke in half. I loved these sheets at first but I'll be returning them. I don't recommend them at all!

Not waterproof, defective turnout sheet?
I’ve used this blanket maybe for a month and haven’t washed it yet. I went to change his blanket today after a short hail storm (lasted 5 minutes) and the blanket was completely soaked inside over his topline! I’m not sure if this is typical for this blanket or if I received a defective one. Either way, I hope I can get a replacement or refund.

Broken hardware in less than a month
I bought three of these sheets and they are very nice. I have had them less than a month and the chest snaps on two of the three sheets have broken. I have replaced the snaps and hopefully they will work better than the original. Except for the hardware I really like the sheets

Perfect fit, even in the shoulders!
I bought this for my 16h thoroughbred who lives outside 24/7. He needed something he could wear on nights that were in the 20s but days in the 30s. The 76 fits him perfectly, with no shoulder rubbing like the Shires one I just bought. Definitely ordering this blanket again for my little guy too (14.2h Arab).

I wanted to like the SmartPak blankets, but this is the second one I've purchased now where the front snap just broke, this time within less than a month. If they just used better hardware this would be a great blanket.

been trying to find any sheet/blanket for our 37 year old mare. nothing fit until i found this one! stays on her perfectly and doesn't slip at all. own it in a sheet and a 100 which is a great weight! stays dry

I love the High neck and the way this blanket fits my horse. Regular neck lines pull on his shoulders and chest. The blanket as well constructed and sturdy. I also like the clips in the front. I have arthritis and buckles are hard for me to maneuver.

Nice Blanket especially at sale price
I bought the heavy weight for my guy and today is his first day of wearing it. It was a very cold windy day he was toasty under it in the field. He is a big built Irish Sport Horse, although not wide, nothing is dainty about him. It fits him very well. He is 17.2 and at 27, his longer back has dipped a bit for higher withers, so I did get an 87 compared to the past 84 he used to wear. This was the right choice as it covers his butt even when leans down and the high neck pulls forward a bit. The only "bad" thing I'd say are that the front clips feel a little cheaper so I have a feeling I'll need to replace/repair them in the near future with daily on and off. But overall, very happy and so far so good.

Great fit!
This fit my guy great. The Easy Motion Ultimate didn’t work for him. My big Arabian has high withers and he’s comfy in this. No shifting. He’s in the rain a lot and it keeps him dry. Love it!

Not happy with it
We have used this very minimally since purchasing (maybe 8 times?) and the white stitching is already coming undone. I definately expect it to hold up better than that! In addition, we struggled with fit, tried two sizes, and it still doesnt fit right. I do not recommend this blanket. It looks nice and seems like a nice weight, fasteners are good.

Great Fit and Look
I bought the 81" for my 17.2hh 4 year old Thoroughbred. It fits a tiny bit big on him, but I do expect him to grow and fill out more, so that's fine. Plenty of room for his stereotypical t-bred withers, and the navy with cranberry trim is just gorgeous on him. It sits well on his topline with no creasing and I love the high neck for added protection during rain.

Very nice blanket
I needed a high neck blanket for my high-withered horse. I bought the medium weight and so far it has been perfect. My horse measures 80 so I got the 81 and it fits very nicely - plenty of room in the shoulders and good coverage for his rear end. There is a little bit of rubbing on his mane, but not terrible.

Great blanket for a great price
I've actually had people comment on how nice these blankets are. I got the 100g, as it's like the only one in America right now in a size 78. I was replacing Horseware liners that are too static-y for my horse. I got one for each of my horses. They both fit them great - seem tough enough (my guys aren't particularly hard on blankets, but are turned out together), best of all, no static. Hardware is nice - I wish these came with tail straps instead of leg straps, but I just switch them over.

Great for big chested horses
My TB typically gets bad tubs to the skin on his chest from turnouts. The adjustable chest straps and multiply snap rings have eliminated that issue. The turnout is made very well with thick well sown edges/pipping. It's also totally water proof and the dirt comes off with a brush
