Poor quality
I bought this mask at the start of summer to use on my horses . . I just started using it two weeks ago and sadly it is already tearing in multiple places . The velcro is falling off , and the zipper that holds the nose piece on is also falling off . Not to mention it is coming apart at multiple seams . Wishing I would have just stuck with my usual brand of fly mask .

Stays on, but nose guard too long
Nose guard is too long. When horses easy, they go down ward, so it's not necessary to have such a length. The zipper design is great, but when nose guard is removed, the edge of the mask is not too smooth. The mall is well made, stays on, but I wish there is elastic feature in the Velcro.

Very Disappointed!
Bought 6 of these with custom embroidery on them and was really eager to try them out! Was intrigued by the design and we were in the midst of a very nasty gnat season! Every single horse got them off overnight, didn’t even last 12 hours in the pasture. Yet my 5 year old Kensington plaid masks are still in use. My horses are not typically hard on fly masks, so this was quite shocking! Not only that but on that same first night in use, the zipper ripped totally off 2 of them rendering the nose attachments useless. However, I cannot even use the nose pieces because they refuse to stay on the mask even a few hours. I called SmartPak and they replaced the two masks where the zipper was totally ripped off. But all 6 of these masks have just failed miserably! I still can’t get one to even stay on overnight! They also rub the horses terribly! The fit is WAY off as well. I was so excited for these but I have to heavily warn... proceed with caution! Certainly would never pay this much for a mask like this again.

Great for head shaking syndrome
I bought this a few weeks ago for my Oldenburg gelding and thoroughbred mare. My gelding has head shaking syndrome and this fly mask has seemed to significantly help the symptoms. The overall fit is great, I ordered oversize for the gelding and horse for the thoroughbred. The mare seems to be a bit scared of this fly mask, but that's probably just her being opinionated. My gelding loves it!

Looks great, but sizing is off
Was super excited to try these masks as soon as I got them in, but was very disappointed in the sizing. Ordered a Horse size for my Quarter horse, and a Cob size for my Arabian. The horse size swallows my quarter horse, but the cob size barely even fastens shut, so it’s not like I could send it back for a smaller size. Otherwise, they are made great and look super cute.

Well made, but causes rubs :(
This fly mask has a lot of great things going for it- it stays on, is durable, and the fleece on the brow is a great touch. Unfortunately the zipper rubbed my mare's nose pretty badly (Even when zipped) so I had to switch to a different fly mask :(

Great fly mask but comes off too easy
This mask is really nice, it fits well and my horse, who hates fly mask, doesn't seem to mind this one as much. The problem with it is every day it comes off in the pasture. I'm guessing when he rolls, it slides right off. I'm really disappointed because it is a great mask, but if it doesn't stay on it doesn't work.

Better than Cashel Crusader!
This is the best fly mask I've tried. My horse isn't very hard on fly masks, but she is pretty good about slipping out of them. I always used the similar Cashel Crusader mask, thinking it was the only one worthwhile, but gave this a try when my mare started slipping out of that. This fly mask is great. The wide velcro closure keeps this mask on very well. I love the fleece strip across the browband, it's kept my mare from losing hair there like she usually does. My only suggestion is to add some fleece to the noseband; where the zipper is to detach the nose piece rubs a bit.

Love the style, can't keep it on
Maybe it's my crafty horse, but he will NOT keep this mask on, no matter how tight I tried to make it. The velcro is pretty bulky (which in theory would be helpful), but it doesn't leave a lot of flexibility on shaping the mask around their jaw. I have a couple of these and the material is already stretching out and the velcro stitching is coming out. Probably would not buy again unless majorly on sale.

Nice fly mask
Seems durable, hopeful it will last longer than one season. Velcro closure is strong and secure. I like that it isn't fuzzy on the edges which catch grass seeds and debris.

I really loved this fly mask when i first saw it. my horse who is not hard on masks and blankets somehow ripped the entire thing into shreds. also the zipper kept unzipping and wouldn't stay zipped. Extremely disappointed I've never had a bad smartpak product until this. :(

Not what I had hoped...
I bought these masks last year for my 3 TBs. I have had great luck with the classic style SmartPak mask, but needed the long nose. I ordered the average horse size, which is their usual size. The masks were too big. As always, exchanging the size was easy, (Thank you!) so I got the cob size. They were too small for 2 of the horses. I decided to keep all of them for the 3rd horse. I am glad I did, he went through all 3 masks by the end of the summer. The zippered nose broke within days on all 3 masks. Also, the velcro did not hold up to keep the mask on. I ended up having to buy a 4th mask for my horse by the end of the summer.

Good fly mask, Poor zipper
I used this on my horse for about 1 month. My horse is in a large outdoor paddock and is not harsh on fly masks at all. They usually last him 3 to 4 fly seasons and then I have to switch due to the velcro not sticking very well anymore. The actual fly mask is really nice and I liked the wide velcro strap and the long nose portion is nice. The only problem I had is that the zipper slider actually came off of each side of the zipper teeth. I was not able to reattach it no matter how hard I tried. Each piece of the fly mask was still in perfect condition so I have no idea how it came apart. I have to have a long nose on my horse's fly mask because he has a completely white nose and his nose ends up with a sunburn without it. I called SmartPak and at first they did not want to replace it. After I spoke with a second representative they actually replaced it (with a long nose crusader fly mask since they were out of the SmartPak fly masks) for free and had it embroidered for free (I had paid for embroidery on the first one I ordered). I am really happy with the ending result from SmartPak replacing the fly mask. Note: The actual fly mask is great and I am actually using it on another horse now but I would not use it with the long nose portion since it does not seem durable.

Very durable but soft no rubs
I bought one to try for my TB that is rough on fly mask. It held up to him so I bought two more for my other two geldings that are out 24/7. I like the soft padding and removable nose although I won’t be taking that off!

Love everything about this fly mask especially the light mesh ears and sturdy eye darts to keep the mask off of the forehead and eyes. Embroidery came out nice as well. My only wish would be for a forelock cut out

It’s decent!
My gelding wore it everyday and by day 15 the ears had holes in them and his ear pokes through. I like the one strap and the fleece but the soft mesh for the ears tears easily; especially if your horse is in a large turnout like mine!

Slides off, no forelock hole
I have a gelding who likes to rub his face when he rolls. I bought this mask because I have an older Smartpak flymask which I love. This one does not have the double velcro closure which is too bad. I'd say I find it in the paddock (still closed, just slid off) about twice a week. Also wish there was a hole for the forelock.

Fell apart after using less than 1month
Extremely disappointed! I have only had this in my filly for less tha 1month. The nose guard has ripped off and the rest of it is shredding. My filly lives alone so it’s not being pulled off by another horse. Her previous one lasted until she grew out of it!

Wide Velcro Left Rubs
Despite the mask fitting my horse like the picture shows, my horse was left with massive rubs on her face from the wide velcro strap from only 2 nights of wear. The lack of elastic makes it too unforgiving. However, I did like the fleece and the zippers.

Zipper makes no sense
These fly masks bizarrely have a zipper connecting the long nose flap. Both my horses broke the zipper within their first three wearings and lost the bottom piece in the field or broke the zipper so there’s no way to reattach them. There’s no reason to buy these if what you want are long masks - though they’re fine as short ones (just not what I need).

I bought two of the fly mask when they were offering free embroidery. I love having the horses names on them to keep them straight. They do run big like the crusader, they do not have an opening for the forelock. The horse size fits our 16.3 hand horse like pictured, the cob size fits our 16.1 hand horse, more refine head, like the picture also. I love the heavy duty, wide verco closure. If you have trouble with the zipper you can sitch it so it cannot come undone. I am happy with both. Keepers

Larger than what I was expecting.
I recently bought this fly mask and got the free embroidery at the time...YAY. I ordered a Cob size and it seems huge! I haven't brought it to the barn yet because I am only going to use it for travel and not every day around the barn; however, I am pretty sure it is going to be big on my half-Arab who is 15.3. (I normally buy the Crusader brand but I couldn't get the free embroidery on it.)
The other thing I was a little disappointed with was that there is no cut out for the forelock, didn't catch this in the picture when I ordered it. Not as big of a deal for me because unfortunately my guy doesn't have a big forelock right now but had I bought one for a friend who has a QH mare with a big, think forelock it would not work for her.
The material seems very sturdy, not thin by any means and I am assuming it will hold up well.

Great coverage, well made
My mare has a small head and it hard to find a fit for her. Unfortunately the same for this one. I did keep it because I like the way it fits under the throat with the extra wide coverage for more protection. The length of the nose is a little long also. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Bad Zippers
It's clear in the description, but these fly masks strangely have zippers attaching the bottom of the nose piece. Both of the zippers broke within the first week of all night turnout, and the lower pieces are now useless. There's no reason to pay for a long fly mask with these - you might as well get short ones since that's what they will be in an matter of days.
