Great product
I like this a lot! I have to say I purchased this from someone on Ebay ,who bought it from Smart Pak. I have a super sensitive Gelding who is a new horse for me. I currently trying out different dressage saddles . this helps keep them in place . the only complaint is it's runs small. I have the contoured one. but that is perfectly ok, since I lay it behind the pommel so it will catch the butt end of the saddle. this has no bulk to it! which helps my guy ,who is in between a M/W and W in a saddle. and using half pads right now under these saddles I'm trying are too thick in his shoulders. . I hope my description will help others.

Didn't work for me
It did keep the saddle from slipping once I was in the saddle. My issue was the saddle slipping when mounting and this did not help with my issue.

Fixes the slip comfortably
I have ridden with the Smartpak non slip pad for over a month. My very sensitive mare makes no remarks about it under her saddle pad. It does not rub and lays well, conforming to the curve of her back. It washes well also. It has stopped my saddle from slipping on her back.
It has a cloth binding around the edge to finish it. While I'm not thrilled with this feature because I feared it would be too thick, my horse does not mind it, which if you knew her, you would also find miraculous. She is extremely sensitive and ever so opinionat

Very useful product!
I bought one of these a few weeks ago and after using it, I bought another one! It is very useful for my situation, since I live in Florida. We had been having a very hot summer and my horse gets very sweaty even with minor exertion. This pad keeps my saddle and pad from slipping around and makes me feel more secure, without having to tighten the girth too much. I was worried that she would find it uncomfortable, but the material is very soft and the holes allow for ventilation, so she is actually more comfortable than without it. I bought one of each style, the contoured one for the English saddle and the rectangular one for the bareback pad. They are easy to wash with the hose, and then I just hang them over a fence to dry. I can't speak to durability yet since I have only had them a month or so, and the material is quite thin, but that is the point. So even if I have to buy a new one every summer, it will be well worth the price!
I highly recommend this product if you have saddle slipping issues or just want to feel more secure. I am also very pleased with the service and the website.

Works wonders!!!
This is seriously the best purchase I've ever made. My saddle always seems to slide back on my huge-shouldered Dutch warmblood. We've tried every kind of breastplate imaginable and even with a five point I was still getting off every 10 minutes to move my saddle back up. This pad is amazing!! I just put it directly on his back under my saddle pad and it doesn't budge my entire ride. And I love the perforated material so I know it's breathable and not making his back too hot.

I am so bummed that I need to write a poor review! I love Smartpak everything, so hate to write a poor review of their product, but I want all buyers to be aware that this non-slip pad didn't work for me or my horse at all. My saddle still slid forward like it always does. Also, it is not cut into any sort of shape at all, so if your horse has any withers at all then it won't work for your horse. I found that when I put it on my horse, by the end of my ride it had slid into his withers. If I hadn't ridden for such a short time and then checked, I would have been worried about it rubbing his withers raw because of the lining on the outside of this pad. Wish it would have worked, but it certainly didn't for me or my horse.

No slipping!
Rather than testing this out for the first time at a horse show, instead I went on a long trail ride and rode up and down hills. No slipping! It worked really well! It does leave a bit of a sweat mark, but if I don't have to keep adjusting my saddle, I can deal with that!

I have had this pad for a few months and it has held up well. It definitely does its job. I do think the contour pad is the way to go, but that is personal preference. My saddle pads will slide back without the pad- so I know it is working!

handle with care
I needed a non slip pad for a horse built like a walrus-the saddle would slip sideways. This pad stayed in place. Only issue it is very delicate-the material suffered a small tear before I even use it-just handling it.

Good pad
This pad works great on my shark finned TB. He's very sensitive and it doesn't bother him. It doesn't seem as flexible as some other pads I've seen.. Kind of seems to sit awkwardly. But it works and doesn't seem to bother him so that's all that matters! Comes out great in the wash too.

Good product for the price!
I bought the contoured pad to prevent my dressage saddle from sliding forward on my mare (no withers + very round pony = sliding saddle!). The spine has no contour which wasn't really an issue for my flat-backed pony, but if your horse has high withers, it may not work well for you. It's thin enough that I can put another half pad on top of it without too much padding between the saddle and the horse. Overall, a great product for the price!

Fixed my pony's saddle slip problem!
I bought this pad for one of my project ponies. She is very round and has no withers, along with a sloping shoulder, so her saddle would always slide forward. I use this pad between her square pad and the saddle and everything stays in place now. She is also more willing to go forward now, which is great! Her saddle is a 16.5" and this pad fits underneath with a little extra sticking out the back. If your saddle is bigger than a 17" you might find this pad to be a little small. This pad is not contoured for withers, so high wither horses may get rubs, but my pony is so round that this is not at issue. I have not had the pad long enough to comment on durability.

Not for a high withered sensitive horse
I bought this because I was trying to get away from using a breastplate to prevent saddle slip. I got the contour one, thinking it was contoured for wither relief but it isn't. It's completely flat across the top. The "contour" is just on the lower sides, shaping it a bit like a half pad. The material has holes in it for breathability and is stretchy which I like. Call me crazy, but I don't like anything touching my horse's wither under saddle. When you pull it up to create the air pocket it wrinkles under the saddle so I never used it and can't say whether it does its job. Maybe when my horse's topline is back I'll give it a try, but until then, no thank you. It would probably work well for a QH or round, low-wither warmblood... But then you probably won't have saddle slipping issues anyway :) please redo these pads with wither relief! :-)))
