Instructions
Instructions for Use:
First remove all dust and dirt from the leather with a soft brush or vacuum. Then spray Leather New Liquid Glycerine Saddle Soap directly onto the leather. NOTE: Do not allow Leather New saddle soap to run. Use a soft, dry cloth to rub the liquid well into the leather. Be sure to use a cloth with enough nap to reach down into the stitches and carving. Rub thoroughly until foam disappears. Then polish with a clean, dry cloth. Also use Leather New saddle soap on wet leather to prevent stiffening. Use it on stiff leather to soften it and prevent cracking.

Mixed Feelings about this saddle soap
It seems like when this soap works, it does a really good job! (Maybe I'm not using it quite right). I find it best to use this after every or every other ride. I do NOT apply this before conditioner, as it contains glycerine, which creates a barrier between the leather and the elements. I don't apply this after conditioner either, because I feel lilike it ruins the finish of the Passier Lederbasalm.

I keep a small towel in truck to wipe my boot every day. The product is on the towel from initial cleaning. I use my water bottle to dampen...and reactivate soap.

An effective, daily leather cleaner!
I first used this during a working student position for a top GP rider and loved how easy and simple it makes the daily tack cleaning process. We would pour some in a bucket, dilute it with water, and use it to clean all of the tack. It cleans the tack really well without drying it out, leaving it clean and supple. Much better than Lexol cleaner which I had used for years. Buy this stuff! It works!

Easy to use, tack looks great
I clean a LOT of tack for my used tack business and have used Leather New for years. It leaves a nice shiny finish on the leather. They say it will clean but I find it better as a finish to the leather than a cleaner.

Excellent Saddle Soap
I love this saddle soap! I try to use it every time I ride to keep my saddle and bridles clean and like new. It does a great job, especially if you follow the instructions and get the sponge a little wet (nice and foamy!). It hasn't darkened any of my leather, but I would suggest trying it on a small portion first just in case. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone looking for a reasonably-priced but very good saddle soap!

Great leather cleaner
This stuff works really well! Cleans leather and makes it soft and shiny. Just one thing: don't spray it directly onto leather! It says you should on the bottle, but if you do, it gives your leather bad spots and stains. They go away eventually, but it's a pain. Great otherwise!

Must Have!
I've used many different liquids, bars, and gooey leather cleaners but they all seem do to an "okay" job leaving me a bit messy.
The cleaner works great, leaving no yucky residue on saddles, bridles, latigos, and more. The spray bottle is extremely convenient, and there's no mess!

Simplifies Cleaning Tack
I have used this now for years, on new/old tack, my boots, etc. It makes it a lot easier when cleaning. I brush or wipe off dirt, spray this stuff on (make sure to test first), and wipe it around/off. I don't think it makes it too sticky or too slippery, it's just right for me.
Make sure to follow the directions it gives you. I always use a microfiber towel because they leave no fuzzies behind. If I want to really deep condition, then I follow up with Leather New Balsam, but it looks like no one carries that anymore (even though it's on farnam's website).

Good for every day but can be sticky
I have used this saddle soap for years, mainly because it was what everyone else was using and they spray bottle makes it convenient. I've found that it can get sticky pretty easily and the leather stays that way unless you wipe it down again. The first few times this happened I thought it just needed to dry, but that wasn't the case and the leather actually attracted more dirt/dust and got really gross as a result. I use this on clean leather that just needs the sweat wiped off. If I have something really dirty or dusty, it gets cleaned up first. I don't think this stuff does much conditioning, so I always use a separate conditioner afterwards. I will continue to buy it for my work tack but show tack will get better treatment.

No Mess!

Really like this product, mainly because it is so quick and easy to use. While it may not be the most effective or cheapest cleaner around, it does a good job if you want minimum effort. Best if you spray onto damp sponge, rather than directly on tack to avoid spotting.

This product was recommended to me by the owner of a leather repair shop. It is inexpensive compared to all of the other cleaners/conditioners I've used and now that I've tried it, I'm convinced it is the best leather cleaner at the best price.
It doesn't leave a slimy film on the leather. To condition, I just spray it on and wipe it off. To clean, I spray the sponge and rub until the leather is clean. No need to wipe off the excess.

Just what I was looking for
As a leathercrafter I work a lot with latigo lace. I use this lace to tie together the various pieces that make up saddle bags, rifle scabbards, etc. This product helps in this construction by softening the lace so parts of the lace don't flake off. Roughness is therefore reduced and appearance is greatly improved. I will purchase this product again to insure I have plenty on hand.

For daily tack cleaning, this stuff cannot be beat. It cleans the sweat and grime without drying the leather. The spray is quick and easy, also keeing the product clean and fresh throughout its use, no dirt imbeding like bar cleaners. I only need to condition every 5-6 weeks to keep my tack soft and supple.
