Why We Love This
The Hit Air Equestrian Super Light Weight Vest is a "harness type" airbag that employs the new higher speed key ball mechanism (component that activates the CO2 cartridge). This model is especially light weight, cool and more comfortable than the competing brand. It is also much quieter when deployed than the competing brand, making it much less likely to spook the horse during an unintended deployment. Imported.
This vest is designed for adults, and to deploy properly the rider must weigh a minimum of 100lbs. If a rider is under 100lbs, please contact our Customer Care Team – we would be happy to help select the right vest!
Please Note: Our Regular Length Adjustable Bungee and Clip Bungee Lanyards are recommended for customers with horses 15.2 hands or taller. If a customer will be riding horses between 13.2 hands and 15.2 hands, we recommend a Short Length Lanyard. Air vests should NOT be used on horses under 13.2 hands.

Outstanding safety device.
Probably saved my life or at least protected me from serious injury. My horse unexpectedly threw a major buck and I flew off. My Super Light Weight Hit Air vest deployed and it saved me from serious injury to my torso, head and neck. My helmet didn't even hit the ground, as the neck airbag kept my head up enough to avoid a direct hit. As an older rider with an unpredictable mare, I wouldn't get on her without my vest and helmet. Can't promote the value of these vests enough!! Wonderful product!!

The side gaps don't protect you
I chose this vest because it appeared light weight & the summers are too hot here for anything more. The first day I used it my mule tossed me & the large side openings caused me to break 9 ribs on the right side, my clavicle & my shoulder blade, my ribs were in so many pieces they had to use metal strips & screws to piece it back together. Smart pak refused a refund but did eventually give me a store credit. I did not experience a hassle free return & they sure don't stand by their happiness guarantee.

Hospitalized for 2 weeks
I bought this after my mule bolted on me once. So the first time I ever wore the vest she did it again & I was thrown. My vest deployed but when I hit the ground I broke ribs 2 - 10, most in more than 1 place, my collar bone & my shoulder blade. Major surgery to pin flail ribs together. I asked smart pak for a simple refund & they said NO, that there was no guarantee I would not get hurt. For $500 it did nothing for me. I really thought asking for a refund for this first time experience was quite fair. Lets see if they let this review stand!

I never felt so confident in my life! It worked!
I bought this in addition to my tipperary vest. It took me awhile to get use to it coz I was afraid it won't work. I bought it in May and finally fell after 5 mos. It worked well and my pony did not get scared at all. I walked away as if nothing happened. I've also seen other peoples vest deployed during competition and it works very well too. I would recommend this to everybody!

Great experience with this product
I bought two of these vests. My sister was riding with me wearing a vest and came off her horse. It inflated perfectly...I heard the hiss but it didn’t seem to spook the horse particularly. My sister was fine although she wet her pants when the vest squeezed her...it was funny. We never ride without them.

I heard great things about these vests so while I had the most eyes decided to get one. Haven't used it yet though. Seems light weight n will keep me from breaking any ribs at my age.

just what I was hoping for.
I did a lot of research and finally decided on this vest due to it's track record and reviews from multiple sources. I bought it to use in addition to my Tipperary vest when jumping and for cross country and to wear alone on those stupidly hot days when I wear nothing when on the trail.

What great concept
The Hit Air vest is everything the reviews say it is. I ordered it after seeing an endurance rider get bucked off, the vest inflated and she got up and walked away! I sent the one I ordered back (m-xls size) because it was too long. The smaller one isn't going to work for me either due to length which is very disappointing. Awesome staff at Smartpak who patiently helped me work thru the sizing issues.

Well Made Vest
Just purchased this Vest and my 13 year old daughter used it at a 3-Day Event over the weekend. The Vest fit well, made with nice durable material and was adjustable. My daughter is very petite, however, the XS-S seems to be a great fit:) When considering, I would say that the vest runs a bit large, but that works because she wears an additional padded vest under it.
