Works well
My horse is a terror in the pasture and keeping shoes on is a problem. It was decided to just use boots in those situations when he needs a little extra protection (our arena has a lot of small stones). He is between sizes on the measurements, so I ordered two sizes - he needed the smaller ones. The only issue is a little ankle rubbing when grit gets in there. I've ordered the ankle wraps and that should take care of the problem.

Durable, but hard to get right fit
Bought two of these boots for a foot sore broodmare who would not tolerate the nails of traditional shoes.
These boots appear to fit her hoof perfectly, but they turn almost 90 degrees when she moves. The only way I have found to prevent it is to have her wear socks or a diaper on the bottom of her hoof...unfortunately neither options are ideal since both collect moisture which exacerbates her hoof problems. Cavallo & SmartPak suggested trying a size 2 so I ordered one and didn't even come close to fitting her (she wears a 3)
I do have to say that these boots are very durable though. She has been wearing them 24/7 for a couple of months and other than one having some fraying on the edges are in great condition. She can act like a complete idiot out in the field and they still stay in place. Definitely helped with her sore feet and much cheaper than getting shoes put on every 6wks. They do seem to drain well too so she is not stuck standing in a wet boot.
I guess you can say I have a love hate relationship with them. Love the durability & that they have helped my mare feel better, Hate that they turn and end up rubbing despite looking like they fit perfectly.
Just bought a pair of Cavallo Pastern Wraps to see if they will help fill some of the space and prevent rubs/turning.

Love these boots!
these boots are awesome! They are easy to put on and off and my horse seems to walk very well in them they have good traction and he does not slip. Overall I think these boots were a great buy!

What a life saver!
My horse got an abscess and we had to pull her shoe and dig it out. She's sound now but I can't put her shoes back on yet because I wouldn't be able to clean out the hole in her foot. That's where these babies come in! I just slap these boots on her to turn her out if its a little damp out or to ride her in the arena where it's a little too hard for her tender toes. If it weren't for these things I would be waiting out the last couple months of riding weather! And I'm done with duct tape!!!! Worth every penny!

Sturdy and stays on!
I bought this for when my horse inevitably looses a front shoe in between farrier visits. its great for trail riding, sturdy and stays on tight even through mud and hills. It's a good short term solution. I limit trail rides to under 1 hour with this on to avoid rubbing which I'm sure can happen to some horses

Great Value
Purchased one boot to help protect and cushion my horse's bare foot. He has been shod for years but suddenly came up lame with a case of white line, excacerbated by his crushed heels. My vet suggested putting a boot on him when he is outside his stall. This boot seemed like a good value since I do not plan to boot him permanently. My horse wears this boot in turnout (up to 4 hours) and on the exerciser (30 minutes daily). He is much more comfortable wearing a boot and can even trot without looking like a camel. The boot has held up well even in slick mud, and provides good traction. It has yet to come off. It's easy to hose off and air dry when dirty. I will note that I purchased one size larger to accommodate a dressing on the hoof. Fits perfect if the hoof is bandaged and slightly large if not - but I have not noticed any chafing or slipping. Would probably chafe if worn 24/7. The boot itself has the same sole as the other Cavallo boots.

Happy TB!
I got these for my TB gelding who is tender on gravel, and can't handle full shoes. He only wears them while riding since he is fine in the pasture, and he loves them! When he is wearing them he is no longer hesitant to walk across gravel and happily trots about everywhere. I was nervous about riding him in these, but we jump and do trails, and the boots are fine for both. I did have to go a size down from what I thought he would need, but that could have been my measuring and not the boots.

Reliable!
I bought a set of 4 to use on a trip to Acadia. The carriage roads wear down their feet quite a bit and boots are highly recommended. I used thsee for about 50 miles and they stayed perfectly fit, never came loose or twisted. Measuring was simple and the fit was right on. I highly recommend these and would also recommend with the use of gators to prevent rubbing especially during the break in process.

Works as promised
I bought this to use on my TB when a glue on shoe would not stay. We need to let his hoof grow out in order to put a regular shoe on. He has pawed so much that he had worn down the hoof. The boot works great, easy to put on and stays on. However, instead of ordering the pads for inside, I purchased one of those cushioned kitchen foot mats and made a template to cut my own padded inserts. They work great.

Solved a problem!
My 17 year old quarter horse was diagnosed with thin soles last spring as per x-rays. He suffered from on and off lameness issues and seemed to stumble a lot when loping in a pasture arena. My vet recommended shoes on the front so we did that but I did not see much improvement. This fall I had the shoes pulled before winter and was concerned about riding him barefoot so I bought these boots to try. Boy what a difference! Once he got used to the feel of them on his feet and got his confidence up he strided out like a 2 year old! I've ridden him a few times since in these boots. We do a lot of loping on pasture ground and he has not stumbled once! I will be using these boots when I ride from now on and do not plan on shoeing him again. I like that he can remain barefoot when we are not working.

Awesome boot especially for the money
Bought this when I had to pull shoes from a tender foot. Our ground is as hard as concrete with the current drought, He has been wearing them for tunn out while he grows some foot and we work on hardening his soles. Very happy with this boot.

Great value for what you get!
I have purchased the Cavallo Simple and Trek boots for a mare with laminitis. Since her sizes vary up and down depending on where she is in the hoof trimming cycle, I opted for the ELB for the cost difference. They have held up really well being worn every day, no lost boots to look for, Velcro stays put. Makes a huge difference in her everyday comfort.

Good solid boot for the price
I bought this boot to protect my mare's hoof as she heals from an bad abscess. The customer service rep worked with me to select the correct boot size, and the boot fits quite well. It's well constructed and has drainage holes so that water can sluice out. The boot has been on her hoof continuously for over 3 weeks and it's wearing well and has only come off due to my adjustment error. I recommend this boot.

Great concept, way too wide
I bought these to save money on the monthly cost of shoes. My farrier helped measure them but no boot I found was able to fit length and width wise together. With my horse having some neuro tendencies (Wobber's with the basket surgery) they were much too clunky and wobbly for his feet. If they came in customized sizes they would be a great product!

Works great
My horse is a serial shoe puller, I purchased this boot for him to wear till the farrier gets to him, my horse just wore this boot for 3 days, I didn't have to lock him in. It stayed on fine and was really easy to get on. A bell boot over the top did a great job keeping debris out.

Tore up his frogs!
I measured twice and purchased size 3 slim for both hind hooves. They move around too much, interfere with his movement, and tore off 1/3 of one frog like a diagonal slice and the other with twisted deep crevices. I walked 25 min and probably only trotted 400 feet. One seam looked like it was already growing weak. They went back. Trying Easy Boot glove which are quite fitted and need rubber mallet to move into place at the end. Looks promising after first ride with WTC and 5 small jumps.

Light weight
Had used Boa boots for years on my previous horses but they are not the right size for my new girl. Was sad to see they are no longer made. So, after much research, I decided to give Cavello ELB boots a go. They fit great are easy to put on and are so much lighter than the Boa boots. I find that by putting bell boots on over the ELB boots it keeps stones and dirt out of the boot. Am very pleased with them and my horse is comfortable in them and does everything as though she is barefoot. No stumbling. I also bought a rubber kitchen floor mat at Walmart and cut it to fit inside each boot as a pad just for a bit of cushioning.
