Great option for a wider calf
I just received these today and immediately wore them to the barn. I was tentative about ordering them because I have wide calves (16.5-17") but the tongue is 4.5" wide so there is a lot of adjustability with the width. I LOVE that these don't have speed lace hooks because my other lace up boots have speed hooks and every time you unzip and remove the boots, the lace-up part falls apart. The eyelets here are much smarter. There's also a lace-through loop on the tongue to keep it from shifting to one side halfway up your shin. There's also some adjustability with the zipper protector snap at the rear. I also added my own laces from bright paracord. I love these and would buy them again! They were a teeny bit snug in the foot for me (I wear a 9.5-10 and ordered a size 41). And I do with they were maybe one inch taller -- why are all winter boots so short???

give them a chance!
bought these a month ago as a cheaper alternative to the ariat ones. pleasantly surprised; they took a ride or three to break in. began with rubbing on the heels and a little smaller in the foot, but they did stretch to be comfortable. seem to hold up well in ankle deep mud, and they do loosen enough to fit my huge calves (17” and 17.5”) although they don’t loop to the top (just missing one eyelet tho). all in all, happy with them and a better price point.

Excellent Boots
These are great, I use them for chores, riding, going to store, anything. They are exceptionally comfortable and look great. They clean up well too. I would say they had about a week break in period, but now are super easy to zip and get on, and don't rub anywhere. Everyone asks about them and expects they were super expensive. I plan on getting the brown color next! They are warm too.

Comfortable and durable!
Going on year 3 (I think) with these and theyve held up great. I wear them just about all year except for the hottest days in the summer. Water resistant and always adjustable with the laces. I need to replace the soles in them but I'd expect that with any boot considering the amount of wear I put on these.

Zipper woes
As many others have commented, the zipper was the problem in the end. I love the look of them and they are pretty comfortable for casual use, but just don't stand up to task. The zipper broke only a few weeks after owning them. I replaced the zipper once and it broke again. I think the issue is having the zipper along the back of the calf. That area flexes too much for a zipper to be there if you are *actually* using and riding in these boots. I'd only recommend these for fashion wear.

Have had them for a year - perfect schooling boots
I bought these last year for fall, winter and spring. Ended up wearing them all summer, too. They're roomy (I have wide feet) and they have held up to daily riding very well. Cute and comfortable from day one with no break-in period. Really love these boots, can't beat the price either.

Design flaw
I love these boots however they have ruined a few pairs of my jeans due to the zipper pulling the material. They are really cute and comfortable but I’m really upset that they are snagging my brand new jeans behind the knee.

Cute and comfortable
These are super cute and comfortable after only a few wears. I have thin calves, so I love that they’re adjustable. I wish I could size down a half size, but at least I’ll have more room for toe warmers in the winter! I’ve only been wearing these for a couple weeks, but they seem to be of decent quality for the price.

LOVE these boots
I absolutely love these boots. They are not my regular daily pair so I can’t speak to how they hold up to heavy use but I do wear them for about 4-8 hours every week when I want to wear my “brown outfits.”
They are so incredibly comfortable. They are great to ride in and due to the laces it’s easy to get a really custom fit. They make me so happy.
The only downside I’ve run into is that because they aren’t fully knee height and because I am long legged, they are just the right height to hit the edge of the shirt flapped dressage saddle that belongs to one of the horses I ride. It’s not really that big of a deal and is truly a specific problem related to my height, length of leg, and short flapped dressage saddle. But I wanted to mention it in case another shopper was in a similar boat.

Nice boot, fits well
I just got these boots and haven't had the chance to wear them yet. They seem to fit well but I had to get a size larger since they were a bit short. They do have a bit of a strong suede smell, hopefully that will dissipate.

I really, really wanted to love these
I originally bought these in February and had to return them due to a defective zipper on one boot. No big deal, as always, customer service with SmartPak is awesome. Then, due to the beginning of the virus, it took forever to receive the new pair which is why I’m posting my review now.
I had been a little obsessed with these boots so I couldn’t wait to start wearing them but they killed the back of one my ankles and after a few days and I would have to take a break. Thinking I just had to break them in a little, i kept this up for a while. Unfortunately, the discomfort has never really improved. The boot just wrinkles right into my ankles whenever I bent.
I’ve barely even worn the boots since they were causing me pain and now, the sole is starting to separate from the shoe and it looks horrible. I live in the desert and rocks and sand get in the gap. I expected more quality from a shoe that costs $175. I’m super disappointed.

Lovely boots, but not for heavy use
I’m a working student and I typically put 8-10miles on my barn boots daily. I loved these boots out of the box, especially after my last two pairs being pull ons the zipper and laces were wonderful. The memory foam wasn’t cushy but was nice, and the leather was buttery soft. After a couple weeks however the soles were separating from the boot, and the boot had broken in in such a way that I was walking not on the sole (which slid out with every step) but the inside left heel. I need to run in emergencies and this isn’t nice for feet that walk 10mi a day. Smartpak was wonderful in taking them back even with the miles. Overall, great for day to day but not for heavy walking!

My favorite barn boots
I bought a pair a year ago, I wear size 7 got the 38s fit perfectly! I wore them everyday to the barn for chores and riding year round. The zipper separated after a year of hard use and abuse. Just ordered my second pair in black this time.

Don't hold up
Loved these boots, comfy, stylish and the way you can custom fit your calf with the laces is great. I wear them riding and into town. They fall apart though. I've had them for a couple months and are my go to boots for riding but they are falling apart so I'll have to find a replacement soon. The actual boot is coming apart from the rubber sole. Pretty disappointed since they are a bit expensive and they have lasted such a short time.

You need these boots!
My hubby bought these for me for my birthday. Since I've needed new boots for months, I pulled these out of the box and wore them for an 8 hour day at the barn. They are beautifully made and were so comfortable! I usually wear a 9.5, and ordered a 41....they fit my feet well. I hope they are as durable as they are comfortable. Thank you, Smartpak, for such a great boot!

Super comfy!
Love these boots! Comfortable from the moment I put them on! Foot bed feels like memory foam! I wear a 7 1/2 in regular shoes and my foot is a tad shy of 10" (narrow) and the size 38 fit perfectly! Love the rounded toe and appreciate the spur rests! The laces allow me to customize the fit for each leg and they look very snazzy!

Love the look
I have not totally sold myself on these boots. Once on they fit nice but the zipper doesn’t give enough room to put your foot in without hurting your heal on the zipper. I keep trying on thinking they will stretch a tad but do far they have not. Would not want they any bigger. I certainly would not want to unlace them everyday to get on. Still on the fence with them. I purchased them for everyday use and planned on saving my hood boots for showing.

Best-Ever Water Resistant Tall Boot
I love these boots! They are comfortable first time worn. I can ride in them and do barn chores. In addition to practical, They are very attractive—I’ve had many equestrians ask where to purchase these boots. Nice style but leave blisters!
I bought these boots a little over six months ago. I decided not to write a review right away to see if I just needed to wear them in more. I wore them everyday for weeks and eventually had to put bandaids on the back of my heel. Wearing them with thick socks did help some, but they caused horrible blisters.
I really like the style of the boots and I wore them in rain and mud and just wiped them clean.
I'm not sure if I'll buy boots online again since I can't try them on before purchasing.

Love these boots!
After 2 months of wearing these boots, I can say that they are well made, beautiful and comfortable. I have size 7 feet, a high arch and a 14" wide calf. I specifically bought these boots because apparently with a size 14" calf most tall boots are tight on me if you add in pants and a sock. With these boots I was able to adjust the fit by just loosening the lacings, so they fit perfectly! I know these are considered riding boots, but I'd never ride in a suede boot because they'd be too hard to clean. Nope! These babies are going to work with me! I take a long walk most days at work and I can say they are very comfortable to walk in. 5 Stars for me!

These boots are so comfortable and true to size! I absolutely love them and I’m so glad I didn’t buy the comparable Ariats which were much more expensive. They are super warm, hold up in mud and rain and are very stylish. I got tons of compliments on them! I highly recommend them!
