Bummed Out
The classic version of this show coat was my daughter’s absolute favorite because it fit beautifully and wasn’t terribly warm. I loved it because it washed well. After a year of the classic, she grew, so I measured and ordered the next size up in this the “II”. The fit is completely bizarre and looks like a box. I’m not sure what happened to the pattern between the classic and this version, but it’s not the same. I’m bummed out that we now have to resume the search for a flattering but light show coat.

BUY THIS COAT.
LOVE this coat. Haven’t bought a new coat for close to 7 years as it was both hard to find one that fit good and was affordable. but this fits the bill!! as someone with longer arms this coat was perfect with enough give that my sleeves won’t slide up during riding. This coat is so so flattering, no weird lumps or bumps under it. love it.

Super odd fit
This coat had the oddest fit.
I've been showing for about 30 years. So I probably own at least 15 hunt coats. Several different cuts, styles, fashion trends, materials, plaids, pinstripes, sequins, name brands and obscure brands. I just needed a solid black coat that would work in both the hunter and jumper rings. If it fits well enough, I don't need to spend a fortune.
I have a SmartPak coat I bought several years ago, that I still wear regularly. It's weathered well, is comfortable and I was hoping to basically get the same one in black.
Not so much. First off, I'm 5'3" and 103lbs. My current SP coat is an XS and is roomy. So I ordered a size 0. It was so tight on my upper arms that they actually got sore for the 5 minutes it was on. Kinda like that achy feeling your calves used to get when you'd squeeze into too tight old school pull on tall boots. Next the sleeves were really long and the seam had the weirdest cut near the cuff. I don't even know how to describe it. Just super weird. It was pretty snug across my torso. Which doesn't really bother me, it was just surprising since I'm so tiny I usually can't find clothes that are supposed to be that tight, small enough to fit me like that. But the biggest problem is that the armpits are so low (with the torso taught and upper arms painted on) that when I simulated where my arms would be when riding, yet jumping, the whole coat rides up then gets stuck and stays in that uber high awkward position making it sit several inches above my hips and blousing out above my flat chest, begging for shoulder pads that aren't there to fill the emptiness above my shoulders.
I really should have taken pics. Even my non-horse hubby was chuckling at it. Unfortunately it's already back in the bag and box it came in with the return label ready to be affixed to it.
Sorry SmartPak. Maybe it's a one off. But seriously, you guys oughta check out this particular coat to see for yourself.

Nice Fit!
I thought I would give this coat a try because of the sale price. I don’t show, but I’m doing a Border ride in Scotland next summer and need to look traditional, fox hunter type. This jacket fit very well, looks sharp, but has a light weight to it. I like that it has inside zipper. For the price, it is an excellent choice. For reference, I am under 5 ft. @ 122 pounds and I bought the size 6. The only alteration it will need is the sleeves.

Well Priced Show Coat
When I saw the sale price on the show coat I could not believe it, I had to order one for myself. It was well packed and wrinkle free when it arrived but it when I tried it on, the dit was not flattering and a little baggy. Should have ordered a smaller size.

Love love love!
Love this coat! It’s lightweight, comfortable, and flattering. Enough room for long-sleeves to stay warm in winter time. I originally ordered the size 10 but returned it for a size 8. I should have trusted the other reviews because it does run large. If I’m doubt, size down! I’m 5,3 145lbs and a great fit. The sleeves are long and are rolled up once in this picture. Nothing that can’t be taken care of at home. Buy this coat!

Comfortable
I find this coat to be quite stretchy and comfortable. I’m slightly wide through the shoulders but this wasn’t too tight. I’m 5’3”, 114#, about 34” chest and broader at shoulders and a size 4 fits well.
