My horse loves it! Eats it right up.
I started my horse on this product 2 mouths ago as per my vets instructions to help my horses Gastric Ulcers from coming back after the perscribed treatment. This is a great preventive supplement.

So far, so good!
I purchased an OTTB in December and quickly realized we were in need of ulcer treatment. I did the month of oral and it helped, but knew she needed a daily supplement also. I decided on this since SmartPak is amazing and it seemed to cover all the basics. I was super skeptical with the price tag, but I noticed after only 5 days she was less angry about me touching her stomach and girthing, and her attitude seemed better, also. It is no miracle cure, and I still think the price tag is pretty darn steep, but I'm going to continue paying it because I do think it's working!

So far so good!
The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because my boy has only been on it for 2 weeks, but I'm noticing a CONSIDERABLE difference already. He's been having some hind gut ulcer issues (I've had him on treatments for stomach ulcers but the hind gut kind are much harder to treat IMO!) and was extremely sensitive in his hind end, if I even went near his right flank side he'd start stressing, and as of the last few days he's back to his sweet self and has been letting me curry and rub all over the former "danger zone". If he continues to make a recovery, I'm keeping him on this forever. I had been trying to buy a lot of the other ingredients listed in this supplement in bulk and it was an ordeal..Assembly line process every time I prepped his meals! So wonderful to have all those great ingredients in a smartpak.

So far so good!
I treated my horse for ulcers with Omeprazole for 30 days than started him on Smart GI Ultra pellets. No recurring of ulcer symptoms and he is happy in his work. Plus he is now in the ColiCare program.

Waste of money!
I bought this for the ColicCare insurance but turns out that is only available with the SmarkPak portions, not if you buy in bulk. For environmental reasons, I don't allow SmarkPaks at my barn - too much waste going into landfills, not environmentally-responsible to use them. It's also quite expensive.

He is 24 years old and has mild colic symptoms in the best, he has been on this product for 3 months and no symptoms of any gut problems.

Loved it!
Once again, my horse is a chronic heaves horse. She had a really really bad flare up and at one point was on five medications. I expressed my concerns to the smartpak rep (I wish I remembered her name :() and that I was really worried about the meds beating up my horses stomach. This seemed to help and I'm really glad I had her on this !

Makes a difference!
My OTTB gelding was getting girthy, grouchy and bucking pretty badly under saddle. Having had a horse display similar symptoms who was diagnosed with ulcers, I thought I'd put him on the SmartGI Ultra.
I planned to have him checked out by a vet and started on gastrogaurd, but no need! No kidding, in three days there was s noticeable difference in his behavior and now about 6 weeks later he's back to himself.
Gets a big thumbs up from me. Worth every penny.

Worth a shot and the ColiCare is a good idea!
My horse has only been on this supplement for a month, so it is hard to tell if it will work long term (which is why I only awarded the Good rating). She has been treated for and struggles with ulcers, so this supplement seemed like a good complement to her already top-notch prevention and treatment plan. I also figured it was worth a shot because of the ColiCare protection; while my mare has not yet had a problem with colic, I figured the coverage seemed worthwhile.

It works!
My mare suffered from colic like symptons but each vet call found no problems. She was screened for ulcers but none found. I heard about GI Ultra from an email and decided to try it. I now have a different horse! No more pinned ears when saddling, no colic like symptons. One happy horse and one happy owner!

I have a VERY touchy gelding.. :/ We bought him last fall and all thru the winter we dealt with colic like symptoms due to a sever decrease in water intake. (Weird) Summer came and it was perfect :D Couple months ago (beginning of fall again) and he coliced AGAIN... UGH. Vet has been NO help. So thankful for the world wide web!! Starting him on this and BOOM, this guy has been a diff. horse. We've had HUGE weather swings and he's still sucking 5-8 gallons of water and eating great! And his water is cold. You have no idea everything we've been thru with this guy. Tried everything you can think of to get him to drink. The only down side of this stuff...... The price. It is a hard pill to swallow and even harder on our tight pocket book..... Wish this guy was making me money so I could justify the price. lol

An amazing product that TRULY works!
My 4YO appendix mare started having attitude issues under saddle this year. She had a good work ethic prior to this year. I thought it was a "mare" issue and tried the implant and it only worked for about a month or so and also tried other calming products. When I would get in the saddle and put my legs on/kick her to move forward, she wouldn't respond, and instead I'd get this: ear pinning, kicking out, bucking, turning her head and biting my boot and constant backing up. There was no such thing as forward and I couldn't even get her to walk on.
When not under saddle, she is well behaved and not mareish. When grooming, she'd tense up her body when I'd brush by her barrel and flank and would start swishing her tail and even turn around and look at me while on cross ties as if she was pointing toward that area. I started thinking that she may have a stomach issue since she was behaving this way.
I spoke to a vet and my SmartPak representative and we agreed that I should try SmartGi Ultra Pellets first before getting her scoped. Well, she has been on it for only 3 1/2 weeks and it's a miracle... I have my old horse back! The negatives that I have stated above are no longer present. She is happy and very pleasant under saddle now. I still cannot believe it! I was literally at my wits end and just wanted to give up. I am so glad I tried this product and will keep her on it from now on!

It's Worth A Try
I own an ADHD horse -- he just can't settle down -- and I've tried the calming pellets -- they worked so so -- and then I read the reviews on the SmartGI Ultra Pellets and thought he might have a stomach problem.
So I decided to give them a try.
I'm in my third week -- and reviews says it sometimes takes a month to see results so am still watching.
Part of our problem is that I don't take him very many places and when I do there are usually 20+ horses -- and kind of like a kindergarten kid -- he's not used to all the noise and movement that many horses makes.
The jury is still out on my recommendations -- however -- I will be starting the fall showing clinics and will have a better review to post in a couple of months.

Love it! Worth the price
My horse has responded to this very well. She loves the taste and gobbles it down. To her, it's a treat, which is saying a lot because she's a picky eater! I have used this product almost a year. When you review the ingredients and the levels of active ingredients provided, you really can't beat it as a digestive/hind gut supplement.

Ultra GI pellets really work!
We have been giving this product to our 16 year old gelded quarter horse. Prior to the supplement treatment he had been having constant diarrhea. He looks and feels better and the stools he produces now appear normal.

GREAT PRODUCT
My OTTB gelding has been treated 3 times in the past for ulcers and is overall a nervous horse. I started him on this product and have had great results! Highly recommend this product.

My mule wouldn't eat it at first and I had to add some orange Gatorade powder. But she eats it fine and I think she feels better.

Only 1 month in
My 7 year old thoroughbred is a cribber. I have not noticed a difference yet but he has only been using this product 1 month now. His feet seem to be growing out nicely though :) and my Hunter loves it even without it mixed in his grain.

Good producf
I have used GI Ultra for probably 9 months with no issues. I decided to change up my horse's supplements and switched her to the cheaper Digest Ultra. Within 2 weeks an she had changed from happy to girthy and grumpy. This might work great for some horses, but apparently mine needs the more expensive GI Ultra. That is what I have reordered. It's a great product!

Happier horse
I bought this because my horse was slightly "cinchy" when girthing up. He almost immediately stopped looking grumpy and slightly flinching the first day I started him on Smartgut ultra pellets. He has been on it for over a month and his behavior has gotten better and better. He actually looks happy. I am well pleased!

Love Smart GI Ultra
I adopted an OTTB 2 months ago. I noticed upon arrive home he didn't like being brush on his flanks and I immediately thought ulcers..... So I invested in this product and literally within 3 days no more issues. Overall his appetite has increased, he cleans up his feed and is a happy horse. Attitude is fantastic. I can not thank SmartPak for an amazing product and helping to get us set up on monthly shipments. :)

Taste is good but I'm not sure...
From what I have read I should not expect immediate results, so I will wait until the 90 day mark to make my final judgement. All I can say for sure is that a VERY picky eater will eat it! (this was recommended by my vet for a gelding with hind gut issues)

Palatable and effective!
I've had my 5 year old TB gelding on this product for approximately 8 months, and I *think* I noticed a difference almost immediately. Previous winters, he's shown some ulcery behaviors and gotten nasty in the cooped up winter months. I gave him about a bale of hay in slow feed hay nets on his in-days, but I wanted to make sure he got some comprehensive support for his TB tummy. It seemed like it was affective almost immediately, AND he started using his brain a little more before spooking. His spookiness has been a big issue in our relationship, and SmartGI Ultra seemed to help!?! Plus, having the ColiCare as a form of insurance helps me sleep at night. Anything for my little handsome princess! ;)
