Didn't work for pony nor horse...
I was really hopeful after reading some other reviews although a bit skeptical... Tried it on two horses that had recently picked up wood chewing and it just really had no effect. Since it doesn't cost a fortune, it is worth a try.

My draft cross and his TB field buddy had been giving the wood fencing around their pastures quite a gnawing. I have used Quitt for about 2 months now and have found that even with a confirmed wood chewer out with him, Bramble has dramatically reduced his bad behavior. I've only seen him nibble once and that was when he was frustrated waiting to come in. I think the product is definitely worth a try.

It works!
To my absolute surprise, after a week, my horses (all 9 of them) stopped chewing wood. Once I finished off the amount I had purchased, the horses went back to chewing after a break of about 2-3 weeks. I reordered it.

Great purchase
My horse suddenly took up chewing wood in the last 6-months. He was chewing his stall walls, wood posts, top of wooden fences.....and any wood surface he could lay his teeth on. It was so serious that in the 6-months, his teeth started to show serious wear. I decided to try Quitt and was overjoyed....it worked!! I only used it for a month but so far he hasn't gone back to chewing wood.

This works
I have tried this in the past and it worked did not use for a while and tried sprays and also hot sauce did not work my critters like mexican food.
I am back to using this product again and I have notited no more new chewing. Would recommend this product its a pellet so its easy to feed.

Highly Recommend
This product works as advertised. My mare stopped chewing sooner than expected. I happened to run out and she started chewing again. I am happily awaiting my order to arrive so I don't have to worry about her chewing fences, wheelbarrow handles, and her stall door anymore!

Great Product
Every winter I have a problem with my horses chewing the wood fencing. It's not really cribbing. Using Quitt as a supplement has really reduced the damage to my fencing each winter.

QUITT
I've been using this product for two weeks and haven't noticed any changes. I will conitnue to use for another two weeks while supply lasts. I have had good luck with just rubbing a bar of Ivory soap on the fence rail that my horse is chewing.

QUITT, WORKS ON FEET TOO!
I have noticed some reduction in the over all wood destruction , but my Balanced Foot Gal, asked what I gave them that was different than usual the last 6 weeks? ( I hadn't said a thing ) she said much more hoof growth in mid- winter than other horses she did in the area....

Worth the Money
I won't say this is foolproof, but I do think it makes a difference. My husband (not a horse person - but the person who built fences/stalls/etc . . ) insists that I buy it. So I do. I use it only in the winter as the horses are on pasture in the summer and aren't tempted by the fences. I think the expense is offset by not having to replace boards.

May work for others, but not for me
I first purchased Quitt 4 months ago and I thought it was working, but then 3 weeks ago my horse started chewing again. She has not missed a day of her Quitt since I first got it, but she has been stressed for 3 weeks. Maybe I just need to up her amount I do not know.

Helped lots!
This worked better than all the sprays I've tried, we used in combination with anti-chew paint, and the chewing has stopped almost completely. This guy still nibbles around for good spots to work , but doesn't destroy boards anymore. Quitt is a little pricey - but not as pricey as having to repair stalls & fence, and I would recommend highly for anyone with a nervous or anxious tempered chewer.

Never again
didn't do a dern thing for my mare, she kept up the habit as if her life depended on it. I wasn't expecting this product to stop her all together, but I was hoping for a decline negative behaviour. Not a dern thing.

Waste of Time and Money!
I purchased Quitt in SmartPaks for my 5-year-old mare that chews wood all day long like it's her job. She has been on it for 2 months and I've seen absolutely no difference. I was skeptical that a supplement could fix a behavior problem but given all the good reviews and the money-back guarantee, I figured I'd give it a try until someone pointed out to me that the positive reviews are most likely based on the placebo effect - the owner expects to see a difference, so they see it, or they change something else at the same time as they start feeding Quitt, and the horse responds to the other thing and the owner thinks that it was the Quitt doing its job. The only positives are that a) my horse ate it (although given that she eats wood, stirrup leathers, bedding, etc and I think I have a trash compactor rather than a horse, this is not a surprising fact) and b) the money back guarantee (although I'm not even going to bother...).

Quitt didn't stop my horse
I purchased this product after trying several less palatable products. And since it was 'guaranteed' to work, I thought 'why not?' While it doesn't smell or get in your eyes like some nasty topical sprays, and my horse accepted having it added to his grain, it did absolutely nothing to stop or even slow down his wood chewing.
I'm sorry to say that it was a waste of my money.

Quitt Works
I like it this because it turned my two 1000lb beavers back into the horses they were supposed to be, preventing any more damage they had created in the past weeks. It worked in 4-5 days even faster than advertized. Although one horse reacted to it with hives, they soon passed as his system adjusted to it and we reduced the amount we were giving him from 2 ounces per day to one ounce per day and the product is still working.

It really works!
I have used this for several years on 2 of my horses with great results. I have tried to take them off it to "save money", but each time, they took up chewing again and I put them back on it. It's cheaper than buying new boards regularly.

Wood chewing no more
My TB mare likes to chew on wood so I bought Quitt and within 2 days there was no more wood chewing in her stall, or the fence. she is not a cribber so whatever mineral deficiency she had made her chew wood. this product has made her stop doing that and her stall looks great.

Much to my amazement (I was extremely sceptical but desperate enough to try it) this stuff actually worked.
Within 4 days my two beavers had QUITT!!
Now have them on 1/2 ration as grass is coming in, still working.
Will be a staple in my barn, especially over the winter.

I purchased this supplement for my mare who just picked up a bad wood chewing habit and was just at my wits end. She would chew right through entire fence boards within a matter of a few days if that. She never chewed anything else inside the barn, just the fence boards and some of the trees outside. I was really hoping that the supplement would stop this habit, but after several weeks on the supplement, still chewing... This supplement doesn't work in all cases. Horses chew wood for two reasons, mineral deficiency, which is what this supplement addresses, and boredom, which the supplement doesn't target or fix. If the supplement doesn't work than the horse is simply bored. Horse owners who have this problem should try to use a grazing muzzle on their chewers. I purchased one for my mare and she can no longer chew the fences and she can still graze and drink water. I am so relieved that she can't harm herself anymore or my wallet. The muzzle is still in tact and she has not been able to shake it off. If you're at your wits end with a chewer I recommend a grazing muzzle, it worked for my mare and she was obsessive about the chewing.

I started trying this when my horse started eating all the trees and stripping bark one winter. I only used 1/2 the dose and it did seem to slow him down some. Then I ran out and he started in again with a vengence. I finally went and got some more and started on the full dose. He completely quit chewing trees after 3 days. We are on this stuff to stay!

Working...
Took a little while to kick in, more than 7 days. But not working great. My horse thinks it is a treat and welcomes this product at dinner time. Worth a try for the price.

Did not work.....
I tried this product with my Arab mare that was eating my fence. It made no difference even after 2 months of her being on this supplement. I stop using Quitt and put her on a cheaper vitamin B supplement for anxiety and suddenly no more cribbing. So Quitt does not work in all cases.

Works wonders with young horses!
We used this on our two 1 1/2yr old Friesian crosses. Both girls were chewing anything they could get their mouth on..including gloves, clothing, stall walls, and each others tails. They were on the supplement for about a week and they stopped trying to chew everything in sight. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who has a horse that chews including young horses. It works quickly and is cost effective.

Quitt works quickly
Quitt helped my six year old stop chewing within a week of feeding it. Anytime I take him off he starts chewing again. It's a great product and easy to feed.
