Minerals Vital for Maintaining Health
Mined from the vast and ancient Himalyan mountains, these licks are a 550 million year old source of minerals and trace elements for your horse or pony. The distinctive rose pink color comes from the salt’s high mineral content, including iron, potassium, and magnesium, which are all vital for maintaining health. Mass-produced salt licks are produced using salt with minerals added in during the manufacturing process, but that’s not the case with Himalayan salt, where the minerals are naturally found within the salt. Himalayan rock salt licks are literally “rock hard,” meaning that horses and ponies are unable to bite chunks off the block, a problem than can occur with softer “pressed” salt licks. These licks are also more weather resistant, which means they can be safely left outside in the field for horses to “self-dose.” We've found that horses like them more than other salt licks! Available in small (2.2 lbs), medium (6.6 lbs) or block (4.4 lbs, 2”x4”x8”). The small and medium licks include a rope. The 4.4lb block fits in most standard salt block holders and does not come with a rope.

My horse loves these Himalayan salt blocks. He’s not a huge fan of the regular ones or the mineral ones, but you can hear him licking these as soon as you walk in the barn. Have to reorder fairly often because they disappear so quick!!

High quality salt lick
My former barn manager regularly supplied these for my gelding, and these last and last! My horse loves them. I moved to a new barn recently, and this was the first thing I made sure was set up in his new stall!

My horse loves these salt licks
I always have salt licks available for my horse. He far prefers Himalayan Salt licks to any other, but the ones from SmartPak seem to be his favorite of all. The size is as advertised or even larger I think.

Loves salt blocks
My horse just loves salt blocks and licky treats in general. Immediately he licked this and unlike lickys he can't chew this up in a hurry. This will probably last 5 months with daily licking!

Horse loves it!
My horse lives outside and I have a large salt block and a mineral block out there for her and her companion horse. They haven't touched either in months. I bought the Himalayan salt lick and took it out to them but before I hung it up, I held it out to them to see if they would even touch it. Each one went to town for about 5 minutes straight licking it! Within a day they had one side licked completely smooth. I now have a second one hanging up for them and they are clearly enjoying them!
I also love how solid these are as they don't crumble and break apart like the salt blocks do.

Easily hung
Easily hung through the bars of my horse's stall. It comes with the rope untied so that you can tie in whatever configuration and length you want. My horse appears to be using it, which is the real marker of success.

Best salt lick hands down
Have had both on the rope and small block. Even the rope salt last a really long time. Rope is great for take along in trailer. But changed to small block in stall which I really like and our horses just love this salt above any other plain type. Have used these for several years now. Hubby had to get salt got plain block locally hardly licked it!! (As I was laid up!). So that really showed the preference by our horses.

Pony loves this!
I'm glad I tried this cleaner salt product. My pony mare has always loved eating salt but now she is positively addicted. I might have to take it out sometimes...she might love it too much. It's easy to put up in the stall and stays clean because it's off the ground.
