Works well for digestive issues in horses.
After having EPM, my horse had digestive issues and giving him GUT, helped a great deal. It's economical and palatable and has worked well for my horse.

Good ingredients, highly palatable
Honestly, my horse wasn't having obvious digestive issues but he has a history of chronic laminitis. I read that laminitis can be linked to improper digestion. So, I'm giving G.U.T. more or less as a preventative. I don't know if it is helping or not but it makes sense that probiotics would help. It smells great and my horse loves it. I'm hoping that this along with dietary controls will prevent a recurrence.

not sure about this
I've had my horse one this supplement for about 3 weeks now. I'm not sure if it is really helping at all with the ulcer problem we seem to be having. He gets a scoop every AM, I may give AM and PM a try. He wasn't sure about eating it at first but now he gobbles it right up. The powder is so light that its very dusty if you shake up his grain to mix it in. It does smell like vanilla pudding, which is nice for me when i open the container! ha!

My horse's ulcers came back after a few months
I added this to my horse's smartpaks to try to keep her ulcers from coming back after treating for 30 days with gastrogard. Well, a few months later, they were back, and I'm another $1000 out for another 30 days of gastrogard. No changes in training during that time, no shows, etc. Very bummed. I wanted to try something more affordable first but it cost me a lot more in the end. I'm going to try the Smartpak Ultra GI next.

Exactly what I was hoping for!
I started my gelding on GUT a month ago and am so pleased with this product! He is quieter, more comfortable and less spooky. I would definitely recommend trying GUT

Seems to work!
I've used this for over a month and I believe it's working great. My mare was not gaining weight, very picky eater and slightly girthy. I wanted something to help her gut with the stress of showing, training, and weight gain. She is no longer girthy, is eating all her grain and eats this supplement super!

Awesome product
I bought this about 45 days ago for my seven year old ottb. He had an ulcer flare up, and would eat around the zantac and tums in his bin. He is a very picky eater, so I was worried he would eat around this too. I was wrong. He loves this. He even finishes his smarthoof supplements now, which he would previously eat around. He was on a loading dose of am and pm for thirty days, and now gets it once a day. He is a different horse. No longer surly to go forward, he actually tried to break into a canter today for no good reason! This is epic because when previously asked to canter, he would pin his ears and be very unhappy about the experience. He is a happy horse again thanks to this product. I highly recommend it for ulcer treatment and prevention.

Great product
Has been working for my horse just fine. The powder sticks to any grain really well, it has a sweet smell like malt balls. I'm combining it with smart vite to save some money on an ulcer and vitamin supplement. I chose it because it had really good reviews.

Works Well
This is the best ulcer prevention supplement that I have tried. I like how comprehensive it is. I still also give my horse an antacid when he travels or goes through anything stressful just in case, but I didn't want to have to use an antacid all the time and this is a good daily alternative for prevention. It is also more palatable than I expected. I wasn't sure if he'd like it since it was a powder, but he eats it just fine.

Great ulcer prevention
I used this on a very sensitive horse who had received Ulcer treatment 60 days prior. GUT really prevented further ulcer symptoms from coming back during our very busy show and traveling schedule.

Exactly what we needed!!
My horse has been on this for two months now and i couldn't be happier. he is always anxious and nervous, especially in new situations, which makes him prone to ulcers. he used to buck and run like a colt every time i would tighten his girth, and just all around act unhappy but quite friendly. this stuff has just made him all around happier because his stomach isn't hurting anymore. i wish i had him scoped so i could physically show the difference!! its absolutely perfect and easily affordable. plus he is a SUPER picky eater especially with powder, and he just LICKS the feed tub clean!

Awesome so far...
I started my mare on GUT about six weeks ago. A little background so this review makes sense: I am a graduate student and I moved from my long-time barn in Madison, WI to a barn near the Twin Cities, in MN in September 2014. My OTTB mare was in fairly intense dressage training (~6 days a week) when we moved. She dropped a little weight (not surprised, OTTB after all) but after about two months at our new facility, her personality changed. She was wired, spooky, resisting contact under saddle. She was also getting more anxious on the ground. I chalked it up to incoming cold weather, etc. I had her adjusted with a chiropractor in mid-November, who noted that her back was sore. I knew it wasn't a saddle fit issue and I expected soreness from working her topline, but her musculature had grown immensely and it seemed unlikely it was just pure muscle soreness. Around this time I accepted a PhD position in Colorado, meaning another big move for my mare. Due to weather constraints, she was moved to a private boarding facility near Oshkosh, WI. She will move to CO in another 6 weeks. Knowing that I was moving her lot and that moving was hard on her (weight loss) I started to suspect ulcers. Coupled with the behavioral changes, I decided that something was 'off' with her digestive tract (even on a probiotic) and after some helpful research with SmartPak, chose GUT. Because I'm in CO and she's in WI, I can't attest to riding personality changes (hence four of five stars) but the managers at new facility said she's an absolute dream on the ground and was starting putting weight back on. It seems that GUT is helping her feel better and I feel better feeding it - hoping it will also ease her transition out to CO. It's worth the money if my girl is feeling better! Oh, and my mare is the PICKIEST eater and she's eats this right up!

Economical for Gi Support
I ordered this product to support my horse who has had a mysterious loose stool problem for the last six to nine mos. Was hoping to "cure" it with this product and if not at least support his gi system while we and the vet figure out what's going on.--gastric or hind-gut ulcers, or food allergy. I was looking for a product with L-glutamine and aloe vera that is not pelleted or liquid (winter feeding) and this fit the bill. My horse likes it, smells wonderful, and I soak his feed so the powder gets mixed in. There has been no dramatic change but his tummy seems a little more comfortable and have kept any potential colic at bay so far. One thing you must watch for is the licorice as it should not be used long term. This product can be used during times of stress to help prevent colics, ulcers, etc, so you don't have to use it everyday if your horse doesnt need it. I have switched to smart gut for the time being as it has more mgs of some of the ingrediants but no aloe vera. I do wish I could get that in a powder because now I am adding a small amount of alfalfa with the pellets which is one thing I know gives him the runs! The other thing i wish these products did not have would be the L. ascidiphyllous (sp.?) since he could have an overload of that in his system which is causing some of his problem to begin with. DoConsult a vet or a nutrition expert to verify my last sentence as that is
just what I read somewhere.

Seeing Improvement
I started G.U.T. about a month ago, but was skeptical that anything could calm my spooky horse, as I'd tried a LOT of other supplements. This one seems to be working. He's more focused and calmer, in just one month. He likes the taste too.

Just what we needed
I was feeding my horse another, more expensive supplement for ulcers and still needed to give him a couple of tubes of ulcer guard a month to keep him "maintained", but I knew he still wasn't really comfortable. I finally decided I couldn't afford to keep that up indefinitely, especially with minimal results, so I did some research and liked the ingredient combination in G.U.T. What a difference this change has made! Since starting him on G.U.T. 3 or 4 months ago I haven't had to give him any more ulcer guard. I'm saving over $100 a month, but even more important than that is I now have a comfortable, happy, healthy, eager to work horse. I wish I had tried G.U.T. months earlier. It is just what my horse needs.

Smells wonderful
My horse was going through a crisis in our training regimen. My trainer mentioned I should look into digestive support for my horse. I did my research and chose GUT. His whole temperament has changed. He is moving forward and enjoying his job as a jumper! I definitely recommend GUT!

Rescue horse very stressed over food is calming down nicely. My guess was damaged gut from poor feeding practices and starvation. She gets 3 meals per day and a dose of G.U.T. with her other supplements (no grain, of course)

Did wonders for our nervous horse!
My sister and I put her little rescue Arabian on GUT because the mare was very nervous with ulcer like symptoms. The mare has been on this for a few months now and WOW what a difference! It is a whole new horse! We went from a horse who always chomped at the bit and spooked at its own shadow to a mare that jumps even the scariest jump like a hunter! She is happy and relaxed! The only reason I rated it as a 4* was because she isnt a fan of the powder. She gobbled up the pellets!

Great Results!
I have a filly who just turned 2 years old and noticed that she was eating some of my other mare's droppings like a new foal would. Although she was a good weight and eating well I thought she might need some pre or probiotics she didn't have so I ordered and started giving her G.U.T. Since then she has stopped her previous behavior and is developing beautifully!!

I switched from the smartpak brand because GUT was cheaper. My horse would not eat this. Turned out to be a waste of money for me. I rated it low because my horse didn't eat it.
