When fed with hay or pasture, 1/2 cup Barn Bag® (85 gm or 1 scoop in SmartPaks) fulfills the daily nutrient requirement of an average 1,000 lb. horse.

Barn Bag® is a concentrated nutrient source, which unlike other feeding stuffs, contains a minimal amount of calories and starch. Barn Bag® is ideal for Easy Keepers and horses affected by obesity, Insulin Resistance, Cushing’s, or Metabolic Syndrome. Barn Bag® eliminates the need for compounded feeds.

Should your horse need additional calories to gain weight or for demanding tasks such as riding or competitions, you may add whole oats, beet pulp, or vegetable oil to this diet.

An 11 lb. bag is a 60 day supply for a 1,000 lb. adult horse in average activity.

My mare is in the best condition ever. I board so my feed options are limited unless I provide my own grain which unfortunately I can't afford to do so supplementation is the only way to go. I searched long and hard for the right one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WilsonandCompany from Great for Easy Keepers! Some of my Dressage horses and Driving Ponies get very little (handfuls) of concentrated feed. I worry that the broodmares, stallions, and young horses are getting nutritionally cheated, especially when their hay quality goes down at the end of the hay year. I use Barn Bag to make sure my horses and ponies are getting the correct vitamins and minerals.

She really improved when I began using a high quality general supplement. Barn Bag is excellent because there is little waste with the pellets. The product is also fresh and enthusiastically received by my horse.

They all love it and get no other grain and they look terrific! It is very complete and well balanced for my horses diet of pasture and local hay. I love it because the vacuum sealed bags weigh only 11 lbs. so they're easy for me to lift and, since SmarPak has such a wonderful shipping program, I am able to order as many as I want and pay a flat shipping rate. No more lugging around 50 lb. bags of feed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by birch from too early switched from patriot 12% to oats and barnbag. too early to tell, but i can tell my mare likes the taste and is licking her tub clean, something she didn't always do with the patriot. (the main reason i'm trying this is i wasn't feeding the quantity of patriot necessary to include the recommended amount of vitamins and minerals.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Siglavy from Great Product If you want to get away from concentrated feeds, this is a wonderful product. Unlike other ration balancers you don't need to feed five pounds of it. Just add oats for extra calories. It smells great and the horses love it. It is fantastic for easy keepers because you know they're getting enough vitamins, etc. while not getting too much food. It also has no added sugar. I have used it for a couple of years now and couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lusolady from Perfect compliment to hay. I love the fact that this vitamin/mineral supplement is so complete yet you have to feed so little of it. I have grown tired of unloading 50 lb. bags of feed so I also love that the bags only weigh 11 lbs. and are so tightly sealed that they keep for a much longer period of time and don't take up a lot of storage space in the feed room. As SmartPak delivers it to my door I no longer have to waste gas on trips to the feed store. I have been giving this to only my riding horse but I am switching my boarders horses to it as well. It smells great and my horse LOVES it!

During the off-season, I do not feed any grain, and she only gets a minimal amount while competing. The Barn Bag ensures that she gets what she needs to race at her best. I have tried SO many supplements, and she cleans up this one every time! Great product.
