Fussy mare would not eat it

Less manure
Bought this for my two senior horses, specifically for one who is very gassy and tends to show some anxiety. I especially like the herbal ingredients. I'm noticing less gas and both seem to be utilizing their feed better and have less manure. I have a super picky eater so I had to introduce this very gradually. It helps to wet his other supplements so the powder sticks and he eats all of it instead of being left at the bottom of his bucket.

My picky eater loved it
I bought this product for my gelding who has having all of the symptoms of ulcers. Within 10 days I noticed that his symptoms had started to go away, he was less irritable in his stall, ate his feed with no issues and was not sore when saddled. This product is amazing, plus it smells great and my finicky eater loves it.

Fast Results
It was recommended to you this product for the ulcers my horse has, within the first week he seemed to be much more comfortable in his work. No more tail swishing (no bugs in winter) and doesn't pin the ears back when asked for more impulsion.

Horse loved it, but it didn't work for us
I tried this for 2 months since the ingredients and price looked great. It did smell good and my gelding ate it right up, but it didn't help at all with his girthyness and poor attitude. I guess it just isn't what he needs. I am now trying something a little more pricey.

Powder didn't work at all for my girls
I was anxious to try this on my two mares because I am having to feed hay cubes at the moment due to a local shortage of quality hay, and they eat the cubes quickly then spend a lot of time standing around with nothing to nibble. Knowing that this can build stomach acid, I wanted something that would help soothe their bellies and hopefully prevent ulcers. This product has great reviews and despite several that say their horse refused to eat it, a lot more have said their horses eat it right up. I wasn't worried because my mares are not picky eaters at all and gobble their grain like it's a last meal. But I was shocked when both of them turned up their noses at their grain with this on it. Tried again the next day, same thing. They eventually ate it at some point during the night when they got hungry enough, but this isn't a great option in my mind, since they share a paddock and I want to know that they aren't eating each other's meals, which have different supplements in them. Long story short, I am going to try this again in the pelleted form (from another website), since I think this is a good product, I just wish Smartpak carried the pelleted form of this, and am now stuck with a bucket of powder that I can't really use.

Love the supplement, BUT daily cost is misleading
I bought the 10lb bucket in Feb, it's now mid Oct and I only have maybe 10 days left of it. Which means it lasted me roughly 250 days, not the advertised 302 days. I do not over fill the measuring scoop provided. I don't expect it to be exactly 302 days, but being off by 50 days seems really misleading. However, I'll keep buying because it works for my mare. I ran out for a couple weeks one time and she was noticeably less happy.

Would recommend
I started my gelding on this after being treated for ulcers with a daily paste. Seems to be working to prevent ulcers from returning. It’s always a plus when my picky eater will eat a powdered supplement- this one he approved of!

Definite improvement
I've had my OTTB gelding on this for a couple months now and I have seen a noticeable improvement in his demeanor. I've been through a number of stomach supplements and ulcer treatments with him as he has always been girthy and generally unhappy tacking up, and sometimes cranky under saddle. For the four years I've owned him, he would always grind his teeth the minute you set a saddle pad on his back, swishing his tail, even before you tighten the girth. Did a course of GastroGard, but nothing offered lasting results. Now, two months in with daily use of G.U.T., the tooth grinding and anxiousness are virtually gone. He is a different horse on the ground. Riding he is much more relaxed, no crow hopping or tail swishing. We had zero issues with palatability; his grain is always soaked so it mixes in well and he eats it willingly. I have also started giving him a small scoop of hay pellets with about a 1/3 scoop of G.U.T. to munch on while tacking up before our rides just to settle his stomach. I think it's definitely made the difference in our workouts. He is happy and more relaxed in work now. Add to it the bonus that it's not as pricey as some of the other supplements I tried that made no difference whatsoever.

Wonderful Alternative
Fair warning, this powder smells like hot cocoa mix, and I was worried my horse wouldn't eat it, but, he licks his tub clean every day. So far I am loving this supplement, and I think my gelding is as well. I turned to this product after searching for an alternative to a much more expensive product that had similar ingredients, to help with digestive issues and to hopefully prevent ulcers. My horse had started to get really grumpy whenever I did anything around his gut, including girthing him. I haven't really been able to see if the girthiness has improved since winters mean little to no riding for us as I have no indoor to ride in and lots of snow. Hoping I might see a difference in the next few weeks as I get back to riding.

Stomach soother

A happier horse
I bought this over a month ago for a horse that had been experiencing ulcers. She had just gone through a round of medicine and I wanted to keep her on track. She's been a completely different horse. With the ulcers she had lots a behavioral problems. Now, after GUT, she's a completely different horse - calmer, no bucking and just happier. A complete turnaround!

Something that works!
My horse is very ulcer prone and after treating with omezaprole, I have used this as a preventative and it does a pretty decent job. It's not foolproof, and he does unfortunately still have ulcers pop up from time to time, but nowhere NEAR as bad as when he was off this! Smells like vanilla pudding and my horse LOVES how it tastes. He'd eat it plain no problem. It's the first part of his feed he goes after, and he's pretty picky!

So far so good
I have a 28 yrs old warmblood who has been suffering from ulcers the last couple years with 2 flare ups last year. I started her on this on a friend's advice. So far she is eating well and seems happier with good energy. Yes, we still ride 2x a week with jumping!

Not really any noticeable improvement
Bought this (along with Grand Digest) as an alternative to SmartGut Ultra which seemed to work well for my older, ulcer prone gelding. He seems more cranky and bloaty now. Its hard to say whether the switch is to blame as winter is upon us and he has a tough time ever winter. I am trying to find the right feed/supplements for him, and have switched to Blue Seal Sentinel LS, with Abler ulcer treatment, GUT and Grand Digest for now. Will update on results as we get through the winter.

Great ingredients & value!
Bought this for my ulcery horse. Very happy with the ingredients and the price. Smell great too! Very powdery and initially my horse wasn't keen on the full scoop in one feed, but her feed is pretty dry (would be better on moistened feed). However, I now feed half a scoop per meal mixed with oat flour (for hind gut ulcers) and she happily cleans her bucket.

I have been using this going on 2'mo now and have seen much improvement in my mare. She is more comfortable and has a better attitude. So far this is helping better than other supplements I have tried. Is also very palatable.

Completely changed my boy!
I have a 8 year old warmblood that is very dramatic about anything and everything. I have always believed in preventative supplementation...with that said when I came across GUT a few years ago I put my gelding on it, I got such good results with
appetite energy and attitude I was super pleased. He stopped being so cranky about things and so dramatic. After a year or two I changed him over to another digestive supplement that claimed to be even better and literally in three days he changed back to the cranky drama queen I put him back on GUT and boom he was pleasant. Also it smells like my match green tea from starbucks!!! and he gobbles it up...and he is picky!

Really helped my grumpy baby
Can't say enough good things about this. I bought a three year old AQHA/APHA gelding in January who did not transition well to his new home. We treated with omeprazole and he was on SmartGut Ultra for a few months. The results were moderate-enough to tell they helped but not enough to help with attitude problems and some spookiness. He always just seemed genuinely displeased to see people and he would get so angry over small things. I switched him to GUT at the end of April and he has completely transformed. He is no longer angry and displeased with everything and everyone and has a much better attitude overall. I did also switch him from SmartTranquility to Smart Calm Ultra. Because I did them at the same time I cannot contribute his changes solely to GUT but they are working so well I have no plans to switch him anytime soon. I do also treat him with omeprazole for shows and follow the regimen of half a tube a day for 2 days before, 1 tube a day during and half a tube a day for two days after. I don't want ulcers to ever be a thing that needs more than this so I'm extra cautious. Lots of alfalfa and electrolytes as well while away. I was initially concerned about the powder form but he gets DAC Bloom as well and has no issues with that and I've not seen him turn his nose up at this either. Thats probably not a testament to palatability as he eats pretty much everything but its certainly not so bad that he will turn it down. This is a great, economic alternative to some of the other things on the market and seems to work just as well if not better. Im glad to finally have the sweet natured, quiet horse I bought back :)

Great Ingredients at an Economical Price!
I've had my OTTB on this supplement for a month now. I was weary at first because it's a powder and he's usually not too keen on consuming powder, plus he eats a pellet that isn't sticky, so powder doesn't sit well on his meals. I tried it anyway, and upon opening the smartpak, realized this would be easy to feed! It smells like a cocoa type mixture, very yummy, and my OTTB LICKS his dish clean. Something he's NEVER done over a powder before! I've noticed significant reduction in girthiness as well as some firming up of his chronically loose manure; something that even SmartDigest Ultra (which he's also on) hasn't done over the last 6 months. I decided to put my horse on this after doing a full 30 day treatment of Omeprazole for Ulcers, and didn't want to throw him back on an acid reducer, but rather something with a more comprehensive ability to soothe the stomach. This is that product!
