Use a dollop or two in a half a bucket of water for bathing with a sponge. Apply directly to manes and tails, as it spreads readily. Exfoliate with your fingertips. Rinse.

Try this to get your horse Bright White!
This is by far my favorite whiting shampoo I have ever tried. I love the ingredients including tea tree oil, aloe vera, peppermint, and vitamin e. It's not purple which is fine by me and the tea-tree oil along with the peppermint oil seems to help repel insects and keep my girl clean longer. I swear by this shampoo to remove any deep-down dirt (from a good roll) and truly make my PRE's coat glisten. It lathers well and smells swell. Try it, you will never use another whiting or brightening shampoo. I spritz with the Lucky Braids Whitener & Dry Wash Spray after shampooing and her mane and tail are easy to comb through. This helps the stains be less resistant and easier to clean.

Love it!
I bought this shampoo in March after researching how to get the best tail possible for my horse. I have been using the shampoo as instructed (1x week bathing the tail, combing out when wet, and using my hands to pull out knots daily), and stopped using silicone-based detanglers. At our most recent show I did use a spray-in conditioner with silicone in it, just to make it easier to keep his tail looking nice the whole week, but other than that I have followed Ruthann's recommended protocols and my horse's tail looks better than ever.
Additionally, when I got the shampoo I was in Ocala with very hard water. I've just relocated to Maryland for the summer where the water is still well water, but not as hard, and I think the shampoo works even better here, and my horse's tail is even softer, than when I was in Ocala.

Nothing Special
After reading reviews and looking at the companies website I purchased this item expecting great results. My horse has thick mane hair and it is course, this shampoo even as used as directed did not make her hair soft or even seem to make it any easier to set angle than any other shampoo.

Love this shampoo!
Lucky Braids is all I use. My horses skin and coat are better for it. I love that I don't have to use conditioner on their manes and tails. This is all I need and keep them shiny and tangle free.

I have been using Lucky Braids shampoo for years have tried a couple other supposed to be horse friendly that cost more but my horse is on SmartPak so shipping is free and it beats driving to store I also have everyone I work for ordering it

Fantastic results!
I bought this shampoo in April, since this is what our grooms use at the big shows. This stuff is amazing! The gelding I lease gets dry skin, and after a bath with this, everything is totally gone! Leaves his mane and tail shiny and soft, and socks are as white as I have ever got them with any other shampoo. This is for sure my new favorite, (and must have) shampoo. (And it smellls great!)

I bought this to try as my new show shampoo. I was not as impressed as some of the other buyers. While I think it does a good job cleaning it leaves my horses tail very dry and almost cripsy feeling. It doesn't detangle easier than other brands. I followed the given instructions and even the next day his tail had knots--and it's rather thin. I also had to follow up with purple shampoo on his sock because it didn't get it as bright and clean as the purple shampoo does. I would use this as my "weekly" shampoo but since the price point is a little higher I'm just going to go back to Vetrolin.

Leaves coat clean and soft
I bought this product based on a recommendation from a friend. I have bathed both dogs (with hair, not fur) 2x and am very impressed. It has a nice clean smell and it left both with soft clean feeling hair. It noticeably whitened the hair on their legs as well. Very pleased!

This is amazing!!
My friend uses this on her grey horse and his tail is so clean and bright. But it also has this really special silky look to it. So I had to try it on the Paint I'm leasing. And I'm not exaggerating, what a difference it makes in the brightness of the white in his tail. And his tail too has that lovely silky feel and look. Try this product - you will LOVE it!!!
