SmartPak Store to host "Get Smart Series" on Equine health topics

From travel safety to colic prevention, the SmartPak Store will host discussions from noted veterinarian, Dr. Lydia Gray

NATICK, MA (August 25, 2006) – SmartPak announced today that they plan to offer monthly in-depth discussions on a range of equine health topics at their new store in Natick, MA

Starting on September 13 th, SmartPak's medical director, Dr. Lydia Gray, will offer the latest research and lead discussions in such areas as "Traveling With Your Horse", "Joint Supplements: What's Hip and What's Hype?", "Preparing Your Horse for Old Man Winter" and "Colic Prevention." Dates for the series are September 13 th, October 25 th, November 15 th and December 13 th respectively, with each session beginning at 7pm.

"I hope to make the Get Smart Series an opportunity for horse owners to get comprehensive information on topics relevant to every horse owner, in a casual, fun and interactive format," said Dr. Gray. "I'm looking forward to presenting the latest research available and discussing each topic thoroughly with attendees."

Prior to joining SmartPak, Dr. Gray served as the first-ever Director of Owner Education for the American Association of Equine Practitioners. She is often quoted and has authored articles in numerous publications including The Horse, Horse Illustrated, Western Horseman and a variety of veterinary journals and magazines. After graduating with honors from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and receiving her Master's Degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication, Dr. Gray practiced at the Tremont Veterinary Clinic for several years. She currently chairs the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association's Educational Program Committee and regularly speaks at veterinary conferences.
