PLYMOUTH, MA – (Feb. 10, 2006) Last April, over 200 attendees joined SmartPak Equine at the start box of the
Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event to absorb the wisdom of Olympians
Kim Severson and Amy Tryon. Encouraged
by the impressive crowd during last year’s event, SmartPak is pleased to announce its plans for a second annual Rolex Course
Walk with Severson and Tryon. The event is free of charge and all are welcome to attend.
“The Rolex CCI**** is such a unique competition and we are thrilled to be able to offer spectators another course walk with Kim and Amy,?said Jaralyn Gibson Finn, vice president of new business development. “We were fortunate that Kim and Amy chose to brave the inclement weather last year and are honored that they have agreed to work with us to put on another course walk this year.?
This year’s Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event will be especially interesting as it will be the first opportunity for riders to compete in the short format at this level in the United States. Severson and Tryon will be addressing their tactics and theologies in riding the challenging cross country course from start box to finish. Attendees are welcome to participate and ask questions as the formidable speakers give a step-by-step analysis of riding the course.
Kim Severson is a 2004 Individual Olympic Silver Medalist as well as a Team Olympic Bronze Medalist. She is the winner of the 1999, 2002, 2004 and 2005 Rolex Kentucky CCI****. The USEA named her their Leading Lady rider in 2002, 2004 and 2005. Her famous partner of previous years, Winsome Adante, was named the 2002, 2004 and 2005 Horse of the Year by the USEA making him the second highest scoring horse in the history of U.S. eventing.
Amy Tryon’s highlights include a tenth place finish at last year’s Rolex Kentucky International three day event with Poggio II and a fourth place finish with My Beau in 2004. She joins Severson as a 2004 Team Olympic Bronze Medalist and a Team Gold Medalist at the World Equestrian Games Team in 2002. In addition, the Chronicle of the Horse named her their Horseman of the Year in 2004.
