It’s also our toughest waterproof blanket yet with a 1050D ballistic nylon outer that resists rubs and tears, making it the ideal choice for a horse that is tough on blankets. Plus, it’s also waterproof and breathable to keep your horse warm and dry and has a nylon lining for maximum comfort. Additionally, a tail flap provides extra protection against the elements. Love this blanket, however…
My horse had his blanket on for less than a week, and ripped all three neck straps off. I called Smartpak right away and they immediately sent me a new one. Well, it’s happened again. I will be calling Smartpak to get another replacement. I love the way this blanket fits and keeps my boy warm and dry. He’s just so ROUGH on blankets. I know Smartpak will fix this in the future. I will continue to buy their blankets. The best customer service. My review is really 4.75 stars.

Perfect sheet.
This is an amazing sheet and even years after owning it when a crazy 2 days of down pour came my horse was dry under his sheet while other horses in other brands were wet under theirs.

Beautiful blanket great fit.
Bought this for my guy and he loves it. The neck being attached is a huge plus, as even though he’s an older guy he still thinks he is 5 and likes to play like a kid. This blanket holds up really well so far! Would recommend.

So tried two sizes on my guy 81” and 84” he wears a 81” Rambo amigo etc, and 82” Schneider’s turnout, 81” ergo tech SMARTPAK vita pretty good! But for this version the 84” fit the best but needed a tail cord to keep him from pulling it forward when he grazes. Not sure if the cuts is what is causing the difference or is SMARTPAK blankets aren’t running as large as they used to. Definitely wish it had the grazing gusset like the ergo tech at the neck which helps it being pulled forward . But the tail cord keeps it from pulling too far forward. With just leg straps it will pull a good deal forwar if that helps with your horses blankets. Quality of the two I received was good and if I I have any issues I know SMARTPAK will make it right. Nice to know pending he doesn’t outgrow this he will have a nice heavy weight for 10 years even if it rips or is not waterproof anymore I don’t need to worry about buying another blanket !

fits smaller than expected
Fits smaller than expected I have an ergo tech smartpak blanket in an 81 that fits good I think because of the (booty darts). However this 81" fits smaller than expected. especially if I wanted to layer a liner under it. I ordered an 84" to try for size. For reference my guy is a 81" in amigo and 82" in stack and 81" in the older shires blankets newer ones I am not sure. My guy is often between sizes but smartpak has worked well for him before so I was hoping it would again. We will see how the 84" fits and I will update my review or add another. However besides sizing confusion its well made generally. If you have any issue contact smartpak they will make it right.

My horse has the Ultimate line in a sheet and light turnout with a detached sheet hood, a medium combo neck, and a heavy combo neck. I love the 10-year warranty and have no complaints with the quality or fit! The combo neck did rub out my horse’s mane, and I wish the tail flap was longer and didn’t stick almost straight out.

Warranty = Great, Quality Control = Not So Great
Love the warranty on these blankets, and recently had to trade in my blanket to get a new one. The process did leave me without a blanket for about 5 weeks, and unfortunately the new blanket does have some quality control issues. Hardware to attach one of the belly straps was sewn on backwards, so it sticks out from the blanket and is hard to use (and hopefully doesn't dig into my horse when he tries to lay down). One of the leg straps was sewn together twisted, and while not a massive issue, it's not great. Without the issues, the blanket is a pretty good fit especially for wider draft cross types, and is a decently hardy blanket that looks nice on. SmartPak customer service is great, just wish the replacement blanket didn't have quality control issues and was received a little sooner.
