Fantastic for Stall rest
I’m pretty happy with this product. My horse is on stall rest healing from canker and I need to keep his hoof wrapped and completely dry. I hate messing with duct tape and this is much faster and easier to put on over is wrap. Since he’s on stall rest it’s ideal. I would not use this out in a pasture or paddock.

Cheap emergency measure
I prefer to have a more solid boot on hand...however, my horse had grown out of his old medical boot, and I needed a quick solution for a deep hoof abscess. Used this over duct tape, and it did extend the life of the bandage. My horse did wear through the first layer of nylon in two days when he was in a stall that made him unhappy, and he paced constantly. However, once he was moved to a stall that made him happier and less squirmy, this wrap did last and was okay for hand-walking and sedate turnout in a soft, small paddock. A wrap of elastikon over the boot will also help keep it more stable on the hoof. The velcro is ungodly strong, and never came loose. Overall, as a cheaper, emergency measure, it worked pretty well. Just don't expect it to be as tough as a real boot :)

super helpful
these were a lifesaver when my horse pulled a shoe.
no, they aren't a tough as a boot, but it meant I could turn her out and have the foot protected until my farrier could get there to put it back on. well worth having one or two in your stash

Easy to use, durable and wouldn’t wrap a foot woth
Bought this a month ago while battling a hoof abscess. Duct tape was difficult to use and not cutting it for us on getting the foot better. This was a lifesaver!!!

Waste of money
This item is poorly constructed and difficult to put on a horse that won't stand stock still. Upon taking it out of the package I noticed that the Velcro stitching was ripping off the fasteners. My footsore mare did not find any relief from them. I do not recommend this product.

Does the job
Alright, so I have a mare who was trimmed too short and thus very sore footed. I wanted something quick, cheap, and temporary to give her some relief and bought these in lieu of super expensive hoof boots.
So, they do work. They are a little confusing to get on correctly (lots of velcro straps) and do make sure you stick the hoof pad to the actual hoof wrap. The pad will conform to the hoof as their weight presses it down. The velcro is very secure, and I had no problems with chaffing. I did have to redo them a couple times to get it just right, and checked twice a day to make adjustments as needed. To be clear, my mare had both front feet wrapped and was turned out on a couple acres of pasture that is somewhat gravely, but mostly just hard packed dirt and grass. The wraps held up for the five days I had them on (took them off for a forecast of rain, and mare seemed less sore and doing well) with minor scuffs and wear. Will keep on hand just in case.

Depends on the horse, great idea though
I bought these to help keep my diaper/poultice on my mare. After less than 10 hours, one is lost in the pasture (yep, I walked all 6 acres looking for it). the other stayed on but she all but killed it. So I spent nearly $45-$50 for something I ended up using once.
I suppose if you have a less active horse, it's great, Mine apparently had some strong feeling about the product and somehow got one off.

Meh...
My horse has been stall bound since the middle of March 2018 due to a hoof resection and a keratoma removal in March of this year. I've used 3 or 4 of these in that time, the earlier ones held up better, but the last one didn't make it through 5 days. My horse IS a stall walker, true, and when it's dry he can go in a small run, but much heavier nylon would make these out of this world awesome. They're SO much easier to put on than duct tape, even though he moves his foot around while I'm trying to put them on.

No longer durable
I purchased a new pair of these to replace my old ones -- the new ones are thinner & more poorly made. One toe seam ripped within 24 hours, both had holes within the first week & needed heavy tape reinforcement. I used my old pair for both trailering & paddock turnout for several years, they were a fantastic product & held up great. Sadly, these seem to have become another product that is no longer made to last. You are better off just using tape & vetwrap. I will not buy this product again. I only gave 2 stars because they are convenient so long as your horse doesn't move around.
