Rated 5 out of 5 by SmartPaker Carrieq from Easy way to feed salt! This is a great product to add much needed salt to your horse's diet without them knowing it! In the past adding loose salt to my horse's feed has caused him to stop eating it. I have not had that issue with the pellets. He eats it like it's just more grain. I love that I know my horse is getting the recommended salt he needs for a healthy diet in an inexpensive way and that I don't find the remains sitting in the bottom of his feed tub the next day.

I was left with almost a month’s worth of the supplement so I offered it to her two herd mates. Only one horse in my herd of three will eat them, the other two horses refuse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Can chaser from Good results! Once we get snow my horse spends too much time licking it up and not drinking from his heated water bucket. He won’t eat his grain if I just ad regular salt to it, but he cleans up the smartSalt pellets no problem. It gets him to drink much better!

Thankfully my other horse will eat them so they aren’t being wasted. Going to try SmartLytes and see if she finds them acceptable.

She's been on it for over two months, but I don't think she's drinking any more then she usually did. I might try without it and see if it does make a difference.

He needed sodium in his system, and syringing it down his throat everyday was not a great idea. I discovered SmartSalt, hid it in his daily grain, and he eats it with no problem. He has even started sweating normally again, and stopped licking dirt. After being on it for two months, I noticed the salt block that has been hanging untouched for years was licked on. SmartSalt has showed him how yummy salt really is, and he wants more. What a goober.
