Replaces key minerals lost in sweat
Dehydration in horses has serious consequences. In order to keep your horse properly hydrated and performing his best, it is essential to supplement his diet with salt. Neither hay, pasture, nor fortified grain contain enough salt (sodium chloride) to meet your horse’s needs, and not all horses can get their requirements from a salt block alone. Feeding a well-balanced electrolyte supplement like SmartLytes Pellets can supply the sodium chloride your horse needs, in addition to the other electrolyte minerals that are lost in sweat - potassium, calcium, and magnesium. Supplying these electrolytes will also encourage your horse to drink more water, rebalancing his fluids and helping to ensure proper digestion of feeds.

Works well and is very palatable
My horse has been on this supplement for a few months and is doing great on it. He’s fairly picky with supplements, but he inhaled this one. He’s peeing a lot more, so I know he’s drinking a lot more. He works pretty hard, so I wanted to make sure he was replenishing electrolytes with his heavier workload.

Did something change???
I've been giving these to my awesome hunter/jumper mule for several years. I just dug into a new bag and she will not touch them. She continues to eat the Smartlytes from an older batch, however. Did something change? Or is it a production error? Or do I have a bad batch? I switched to these because she was picky about other brands.

None of my horses will eat these
My horse sweats a lot during summer rides so I figured some electrolytes would be a good idea. I have a salt block for her but I figured these pellets would be better since I could take them with me to clinics/shows. However my horse will not eat them. I've even tried covering them in applesauce/powdered sugar and she still refuses them. I didn't want them to go to waste so I tried feeding them to my other two horses and neither of them will eat the pellets either! I find it very odd since my QH eats everything.

Best supplement
My horses didn’t drink enough. From the day I started this supplement, I saw a difference. My horses have been on this supplement for over a year and it’s one of my must have supplements now. They also eat the pellets no problem!

My horses eat it, no problem!
My two horses are picky on supplements. After they both had a heat stress colic (mild, thank God) this summer, I knew I had to do something. They do best with pelleted supplements, so I gave these a try. They eat it no problem and I see them go right to the trough and drink! We live in Central Texas and have battled extreme heat this year.

Horses eat it
I’ve tried several powder electrolytes and my horses ate them inconsistently at best. The pellets mix right into feed and are eaten, no problem

My horses won't eat it
After several attempts my horses still won't eat these Smart Lytes pellets. They will even move them away from their other pellets and eat everything else but these. They do seem to have an odor to them, don't know if it's just me, but they do stink like a stale smell.
