Palatable
This is the second horse I’ve put on Bug Off. No single product works, but in combination with topicals, spray systems and pasture management, we might survive the summer!

Review: SmartBug-Off
I’ve been using the product for roughly two months. I’m still applying horse spray every 2-4 days.
Perhaps I needed to start the pellets earlier, before biting insects are in force.

Sensitive to flies
So far out of all the flies we contend with the only one that has not left their mark is the bot fly. We deal with a mare with cushings and 2 with sensitivity to flies. We have been looking for something that covers everyone's needs.

Working!
First time I’m trying a feed thru fly repellent. It’s been 6 weeks now and flies are not bothering my gelding at all. I do use fly spray too and stall is clean but he does pasture at night and we’ve had lots of rain - and still no fly problem. Oh- and I don’t smell any strong odor coming off him either as some reviews report (?).

I was highly skeptical
So much so that I initially only bought for my fly candy Haflinger. After a week it had made such a difference for him, I put my two Gypsy Horses on it as well. My barn is so much more pleasant, and while there are still flies, we have gone from unbearable to just a few. I have used fly predators, traps and diatomaceous earth to keep the numbers down, but this has made a world of difference for my horses!

IT WORKS!
My buckskin mare was being tortured by horseflies. Some days she looked like she just came off a battle field. Sprays would help her but not all day and especially when grazing near cedar trees and our creek. Within 2 weeks of use, I'm IMPRESSED that she's had one horse fly bite! The horse flies are coming around her and our chestnut gelding but hovering then flying away! I'm going into the 3rd week of treatment and no flies and very little flies in the barn or around manure. Not only are the flies / bugs no longer a issue, but our horses are healthier with the additional Omega blend added to the supplement. What a peace of mind! For us all. Our summer is looking to be the best one yet! - Thank you SmartPak!

Great results!
My QH mare, Gracie, had been battling bites on her front legs for several summers. She has sensitive skin. constant biting and scratching caused a vicious circle of scabs. Last year toward the end of the summer I started her on Bug Off. It did seem to help. We got a good start this summer and I am happy to report no horrible scabby legs! well worth it!

Was not impressed
I tired SmartBug-Off this year for the first time for my three horses and unfortunately was not impressed. The product selections I made the last two years for feed through fly control (Simplifly & Solitude IRG) were more effective, so back to one of those I go. I did like the ingredient list for this product but our flies here were unphased.

Didn’t see a difference
Unfortunately I didn’t see any reduction in the number of pests buzzing around my guts. I have 2 horses that are pasture 24/7. It also has an awful smell so hold your breath!

Sadly doesn't work
Sadly this didn't work for my horses because not every horse on the farm is on it. I did notice a difference when they were inside, however when they went out with their buddies there was no difference in the flies. My filly even has bloody sores on her stomach from flies, so clearly the garlic smell isnt doing anything. Maybe if every horse on the farm was on it there would be better results.

My horse loves it!
I started using this product approximately 2 months ago. It seems to be working well except for her legs. Guess it can't quite make it down that far, otherwise I'm glad I decided to give it a try.

Desperately hoped this supplement would've helped!
I bought this two months ago in the hopes it would provide some relief for my extremely bug sensitive 25 year old mare. I made sure to start feeding it as soon as it arrived so it could take time to build up in her system before bug season started in our area of the midwest. However, it still didn't help :(
Her legs were covered in flies and she was running around trying to get away from them.
I typically love the SmartPak brand supplements, unfortunately this one just didn't work for my old mare.
I have used a granular garlic only formula in the past and that was more effective.I suppose I'll try that one again and see how it works...

Relief for my sensitive gelding!
I started using this product two seasons ago after my gelding broke out in hives from bug bites. He is much happier on this product and no hives.

i bought a big bag of this to test out on my horses. I have three, but only put two of them on it to see if I saw a difference. The one horse that I didn't put on it swishes his tail less and has less flies on him than the two I have on it. I've very disappointed> I was hoping this would be a life saver Plus it stinks and smells up your feed room.

It actually works!
I purchased this on two horses to try since the flies in Central Texas are notoriously horrible. One is a mostly white paint horse who acts really irritated if one fly is on him, especially in the show ring. No amount of fly spray does the trick and I've tried them all. I was dubious about this product, but it actually works! The two horses who are not on it yet, are getting eaten alive. I'm taking the time to write this review because it's a good product and all my horses are going to be on it starting tomorrow.

Great so far.
I bought this less then a month ago so I don’t know if it helps with bugs or not yet, but my very picky eater eats it just fine in his feed!

Working great
I picked this up for my rocky mountain horse who had an issue with insects last year and rubbed all of her hair off. I started her out in the fall on Smart Shine and that helped a lot. She's on smart Mane & tail now in combination with the Bug-Off. She's the only one in the Bug-Off out of my 3 mares. I've noticed a significant amount of flies on my other two that aren't on it compared to my RMH who is on it. They all get the same fly spray and spot on treatment.

This did help my filly
These pellets seemed to help my sensitive filly. She would get welts and her eyelids would swell up and ooze during fly season. After a week on this product, the welts were gone and the eyelid swelling and discharge was minimal. While she would not eat the pellets on their own, she had no issues when I mixed them with her grain and beet pulp. The price is reasonable and the product does what it should.

Really works!!!
I had an aged gelding that was sensitive to bug bites plus the bugs seemed more attracted to him than the other horses. For the last 5 years I had to treat an eye ulcer every summer because he would rub his face on his front legs. I came out every day to fly spray his legs and chest but fly spray kind of works at best. I started him on the Bug-Off pellets a month before bug season. He is a very picky eater and he ate them. This was the FIRST summer without an eye ulcer! I noticed a huge decrease in the number of gnats and flies that landed on him. The balance I was able to take care of with a daily routine of fly spray. This product really works!
I purchased another horse in June that had a lot of crusty bug bites in her ears. I started her on the Bug-Off. Her ears are now bug bite free. And with her, its just a couple of squirts of fly spray a day and she is fly free.

Happier horse on trails
My horse has always been the one on trail rides getting eaten alive and swarmed by bugs that drive him absolutely batty. About 6 weeks after he started this product, I noticed he wasn't the one getting attacked anymore, it was one of the new horses to the group. Not sure if it was just a "more attractive" new horse or if the bug off pellets made mine less attractive, but I'm using through this fall and will plan to start in March, before winter ends, so he'll be fully covered by the time spring arrives in May next year. I was able to quit dressing him in the full "bug armor" sheets for riding after about 6 weeks into the new pellets, and now ride him with just the quiet ride mask and he is not beside himself going through the woods.

A much better summer with Pellets1
I started this supplement a few weeks before fly season. I have also been using Equiderma fly spray - so I believe the combination is keeping my horses much more comfortable with fewer flies this summer. I give them the pellets daily and make sure I don't miss a day! I am very happy with the product and will use again next summer.

Great Results
Been using the SmartBug-Off Pellets all summer long and seen great results with less flies for our horses. The pellets are a must for our hard headed horse who does not like fly spray. Also, nice to use an all natural product for fly control.

Got this for my boy. He has a blind eye and I know how bad flies can be on weak eyes. He has not been fly mask free for a month. So happy I got this product.
