Major difference

Flaxseed meal, NOT flax seed
This is flaxseed meal, the oils have been extracted. Didn't realize until I opened my bag. Will switch back to Manna Pro.

Not sure how well it works
My horse has been on this supplement for about 5 months. He is a fleabitten grey, so his coat generally looks quite dull and he sheds constantly. Unfortunately I haven't seen much change in his coat as we've moved from colder weather into the summer. I will probably keep him on it through the winter to see if it helps with his winter coat, but otherwise I do not think he has benefitted from this supplement. My horse is not a picky eater but he has no issues eating this mixed in his grain.

Stopped the scratching!
My poor old man would head for the nearest tree to scratch himself raw when he was turned out. Using this product has stopped that completely! Such a relief for him.

Just started seems great

Highly palatable!
My super picky mare (I've written at length about her in other reviews) absolutely loves this. I am even able to sneak in powdered supplements which she would otherwise never eat. I haven't been using it long, so can't attest to results, but I'm very happy so far!

It's good when it is not rancid
My horse has been on this for 6 months, definitely notice a difference in his coat and he likes it....when it's fresh! Couple of buckets I have bought, the smell was way off and my horse who isn't a picky eater would not touch it. Hoping my next bucket is not bad or else will not purchase again.

Glossy, gorgeous dark bay!
I've had my dark bay TB on this for about 2 months and she's looking glossy and gorgeous! When I got her 2 months ago, her coat was dull, dry, and rough when I got her and the flax has made a big difference. Now everyone comments on her beautiful color and shine.

Amazing for glossy coats.
I added flax to Cow’s Smartpak’s over the winter to give him all the good stuff that the Omega 3s bring to balance lack of fresh pasture. With the new year, I started noticing how glossy his winter coat was getting, and now that he’s pretty much shed out, he’s got a gorgeous coat that needs no sprays to shine! I’ve decided to keep him on it permanently so that he continues to see the benefits. We went to a small show a couple of weeks ago and it was too cold to wash before hand. I just ran a damp cloth over him to pull out the worst of the dust and gave him several good pass overs with a fine brush and off we went. I didn’t even show sheen his body at the show (back legs and tail were sprayed since he wore a tail extension) and look at that glowing coat!
