Wipe II 4.6 5 19 20
Great for sensitive horses My WB has super-sensitive skin and won't tolerate the industrial-strength bug sprays...but he won't tolerate the bugs either! I tried several different sprays, including DEO, but the only one I found that works to keep the bugs off and doesn't raise hives on my thin-skinned boy is Wipe II. It stays on all day, gives his coat a nice shine, and it smells great. Obviously from these reviews it's not everyone's cup of tea, but the other riders at my barn voted Wipe II the best-smelling bug spray around. I am giving it only 3 stars for value because I want it to come in a gallon-size so I can refill this spray bottle instead of having to get a new spray bottle every time. May 7, 2013
Oily and Smells Bad I was using this fly spray and it doesn't work well. Bugs were still on the horses, and it is super oily. It is disgusting if you get it on your hands. Wiping your hands with a towel won't get it off well. A horse that had it on before a ride needed to be sprayed off, and once you put water on the horse, the water got bubbly and foamy on the horse. It was hard to rinse off. I'll stick with Repel-X from now on. April 19, 2013
Good for Florida Climate I've found this to be the best fly spray for our hot, humid Fla weather.....especially with the abundance of bugs in the summer. Seem to last somewhat longer than other, similiarly priced products and smells very nice. I also like that it sprays on vs. wiping it on with a towel. Only issue is that it is slightly oily but probably why it works so well in the humidity. November 1, 2012
works...but this works as well as any fly sprays I've used so far, but the intensely strong smell made me wish the bottle was almost empty... September 18, 2012
Best I've tried I've tried many fly sprays and concoctions but most don't work for more than an hour. In early summer I only use all natural sprays like Flicks or Deo Lotion but by late summer my horses need better protection from mosquitos and this product works as well as brands that claim to work for days (none do). I have all 3 of my horses on SmartBug-Off eliminating almost all of the biting flies to begin with (dose your horse individually- some need more, some less) plus a big fly bag, and for a super buggy trail ride or extreme mosquito nights a light spray of this really does the trick. My Favorite by far Like so many of us, I have tried just about every type of spray out there to help my horse tolerate the bugs/flies/etc. I have found WIPE II to be the best on the market. Cheaper stuff was a waste of $$ and time. June 20, 2012

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
