Wintec Pro Dressage with Contourbloc Saddle 4 5 2 2
Good entry level saddle Got this saddle on trial. The good - I liked the external thigh block a lot. Gave sense of security without feeling locked in. The overall quality is what can be expected from Wintec - sturdy and well put together. The suede gave good grip and the narrow twist was just what I was looking for. I like the gullet exchange system and find it easy to do after the intial time figuring it out. Really wide channel which was perfect for my broad backed Arab mare. The bad - the overgirth annoyed my horse to no end. I could not get it tight enough to avoid it flopping around and hitting her front leg when she trotted. She is a narrow Arab, so a wider horse shouldn't have this problem. It did not fit my mare at all though. My mare has a nice flat back, but the panels are not built for this so the saddle rocked and caused her pain. When I took it off her hair was all roughed up and it was obvious that she was unhappy. Overall - if you are looking for an easy to clean saddle with security without feeling locked in and need a narrow twist and wide channel try it out. The price is a little much for what you get. IMO it would be a great deal used, but not really worth the price new. December 27, 2011
Excellent Saddle Wouldn't have thought I would like a synthetic saddle as much as I like this one. The adjustable gullet and CAIR panels were just what I needed for my extra-wide, short-backed horse. Now, he's comfortable and moving freely, and I actually like the feel of the seat, even better than leather. The narrow twist of the saddle make it feel like you are sitting into, not over the top of, your horse. Execellent value. November 18, 2010

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
