Weatherbeeta 1200D FREESTYLE Standard Neck Turnout 4.7 5 3 3
neat looking blanket bought this blanket for my clipped holsteiner for Southern California winter. I got the no fill version so it's not too warm and I can put a blanket underneath for colder nights. It fit well (81 on a 17hh horse, my horse is average size not too wide from the chest) and the buckles look more durable than the smartpak smart blue blanket I got him last year. Also the leg straps are better and I love the fast closure front. I would love velcro on the front too (it does not have it), so the buckles would not rub against the chest when the blanket moves. However, my horse has started a bad habit of ripping the blanket from the front and after two nights of use the piping at the bottom front is already ripped off. All and all I am really happy with it and so far his pasture buddy has not torn into it like he did with the last blanket and ripped it into pieces. A good hint thought is to spray the blanket with vinegar occasionally- keeps the horse from wanting to touch it. All and all I am happy with this blanket although rain durability I have not yet experienced with it. It also looks very nice and expensive. January 18, 2013
Sturdy with great features I love this blanket! It combines great features, high quality materials, without the sticker shock of the Rambo blankets. The comfort cuff is nice and cozy, and I love that the back leg straps clip off if you don't want to use them. I've had to cut them off other sheets that don't have clips. The tough exterior has stayed surprisingly clean; I just brush it off once every few days with a stiff body brush. Oh and the black/purple looks great on greys! I can't comment on durability as we've only been using it for about a month, plus my mare is too lazy to do much more than walk in her paddock. I'm contemplating buying a second for a back-up if the right sale comes along. January 8, 2013
The horse loves it!! Jessie loves her new blanket. I bought her the blanket to keep her form getting rain rot again this winter. She has worn it very day in the rain that we have. It keeps her nice and dry. October 30, 2012

To Clip or Not to Clip I've heard that body clipping in the spring is "too late" because you're clipping over the newly growing in coat... What do you think? What's the best body clipping schedule? - Jessica N., Charlotte, VT
