Not worth a dime
Very disappointing results when I tried that bucket cozy inside the barn in Northern VA. The water in the protected bucket froze solid overnight, the same way the water in other "naked" bucket did. I have not sent it back yet as I kept doing several attempts but I really should send it back.

Works! Really
Works wonderfully in a stall, haven't used it outside. We have a small barn that's a little drafty and the cozy works well!
Going to purchase a few more!

Great under right circumstances
It really does help keep the water from freezing even in our frigid central NY temperatures. However, you must have a non- mouthy horse!! Horse # 1 ripped it off his bucket, even without the top cover, in 24 hours!. Horse #2 is still using it with great results. I am trying to think of a way to cover it for horse # 1 so he can't remove and rip it.

Works with some limitations
So this does work in temps down to teens/20's even without the cover on. It definitely has worked for a bucket inside of a stall and feels 100x safer than having an electric bucket. The only issue is if trying to use it on an outside bucket - if it gets wet it gets heavy/takes forever to try and then doesn't work. So for those days when it's in the teens and sleeting /"wintery mix" it can be a fail.

Very happy with this product!
I got two of these for my horse who lives in a barn outside. I was very afraid that his water would freeze solid during the night, as it has been a very cold winter so far! They work so well!!!! We don't even put on the tops, and most of the time there is not even an ice sheet on top! It only had an ice sheet on top when it would go below 0 degrees! I love them!

Does what it says
Good product. Keeps water buckets in the barn from freezing solid. I don't use the lid cover so mine occassionally will develop a very light layers of ice but nothing solid. Horse always has access to unfrozen water. I'm sure if I used the lid cover there would be no ice.
