COPD My 22 Year old TB started having breathing problems 3 years ago. Every August/Sept he starts breathing very heavy and coughing. Ventipulmin provides immediate relief. My vet prescribed it and now I keep it on hand in case he has an episode. This product along with Dex helps for COPD. Also try wetting the hay or switching to coastal. August 30, 2010
We use this product for our draft horse as she has a respiratory condition which is exacerbated by dust/mold. She doesn't like to take it, but it helps her immensely. I was happy to find it at Smart Pak for a lower price than I pay at the vet's. I can get 3X the amount for 2/3 the price, savings of $100. Well worth it, and it was easy to get the Rx transferred. COPD Have a horse with COPD and go through this stuff at an extremely high rate. This was a much better value than my vet's office...still wish I could find it cheaper though! September 23, 2009
Helpful, but pricey My 16-year old barrel horse suffers from COPD (heaves). For the past 3 years he has had an episode in the early fall. The Ventipulmin is easy to administer and does help somewhat. However, it is very expensive. August 26, 2009
Meds This medicine works for my horse. This company however was knowledgable, courtious, and saved me a little money in the process. ALL GOOD! April 3, 2009
Ventipulmin My paint gelding had a serious problem with his breathing for about a year and a half. His breathing was very labored and the coughing was very loud and deep. He was 15 at the time and had always been very healthy so I was extremely concerned. The local vet (we were new to the area) tried all kinds of things and tests to help him to no avail. After 10 days of this I decided to take him 1 1/2 hours west to my old vet who started my horse on the Ventipulmin. It was immediate relief for my gelding. By that evening he was more of his old self. I used this product about 4 times over a 2 year period and it always gave him immediate relief!! It is fairly easy to administer and to be truthful; he loved the taste of it. He would lick the syringe as I gently squeezed it into his mouth. I didn't even need to halter him to administer it. I highly recommend this product if your horse has breathing trouble certain times of the year. We also wetted the hay and kept the barn VERY clean during this time. We haven't had any issues for well over a year, but I have some on hand just in case. October 15, 2008
