Helmet is really large and heavy
Looked like a substantial helmet, but boy was it large and heavy. I guess it would protect your head being so large and heavy, but I was also looking for something really padded and this wasn't. I returned it and went with the Tipperary Sportage.

Wanted to save my black helmet for the arena so ordered this one for trail and it fits perfect! Very happy with this helmet.

Helmet Looks Big...Very Big!
This helmet fit fine, but it looks very large on! I felt like a bobblehead, and a savvy horse friend confirmed I looked like one! The fit was OK - I have more of an oval head, and from what I hear, Troxels do better for round heads. Regardless of your head shape, this helmet just looks BIG! I liked the looks of it until I put it on. Quality is good, but it will probably be a hot helmet to wear (not a lot of vents, heavy, and leather). I returned this and went with the Tipperary Sportage. I am THRILLED with the Sportage! It looks normal on and is very comfortable and light. I recommend the Sportage helmet to any rider!

Great helmet
This was my first helmet after growing up not using one. I decided on troxel because of the reviews and and they look nicer than some of the others. I had a fall the other day and my helmet did its job and kept my head safe. I got one as a gift for my sister because I like it so well. I was worried about not enjoying my ride as much since this was my first time wearing a helmet. But even after the first ride I didn't mind it and I wont ride without it. It is comfortable and does not get hot. Most time I forget I have it on.

Great helmet!
The Troxel Sierra is a VERY comfortable, and well ventilated helmet. The Cinch fit GPSIII system also makes it a great fitting helmet for many different head shapes ( I am hard to fit with a high forehead, and the back of my head rather flat.) It is ASTM F1163-04a/SEI certified which is important to me. It is very durable, but as with all helmets, if you fall and hit your head wearing it, should be replaced( 'happened to me and the GPS system broke away from the helmet -- I was NOT concussed or hurt however!)--AND, the company WILL replace it for a very low fee IF you bother to register it for the warranty. 'Love this helmet!
