Nice helmet, comfortable
I've had several Tipperary Sportage helmets over the years. When the T2 came out I decided to upgrade. It is very comfortable. I'm not sure its any cooler than the old Sportage. I use it as an everyday schooling helmet. I like the new chin adjustment. I have a medium and I usually am between a small and a medium this runs a little smaller so fits me better. I'm not sure what makes it so much more expensive than the sportage though. The sportage is still a great helmet for the price.

Sadly, not the helmet for me
I have worn the Tipperary Sportage for years. I hoped that this helmet would fit in a similar way, with even more ventilation. Unfortunately, it does not fit like the Sportage at all. Even in size Large, it was too tight front to back, and too loose side to side. This one went back to SmartPak with their excellent returns policy.

Wanted to love this helmet, but....
I'm disappointed in this Tipperary helmet. I have worn the Sportage (8500) for years, and the fit has been great. I was hoping for a similar good fit in this helmet, with more ventilation. However, it is entirely different from the Sportage. The fit is tight front to back, but gaps significantly on the sides. I ordered a Large, which is the size I wear in the Sportage, but it felt too small and too large at the same time. The good news is SmartPak's great fit and return policy! I'll be sending this one back.

Great Helmet and Great Service from Smartpak
I purchased this helmet after years of struggling with way too many Troxels. They would always dig into my head in one way or another. I wasn't about to pay over $600 for a fitted helmet, but wanted something better than a dial-in-system. I also wanted better ventilation for the hot summers. Answer, Tipperary T2. It's cute, extremely well ventilated, seems pretty rugged, looks a lot like those +$600 helmets, fits well (once you get the right size) and you can take out the innards to wash. The sizing chart for the Tip T2 did not work for me. I measure 21 7/8" (Large according to chart) and have always worn a size 6 7/8 or 7 helmet in Troxel, etc. I talked to the very kind and helpful customer service people at Smartpak about what size to order, as I fell between a Med and Large. They suggested I go with the Large. When it arrived, it fit like a bucket on my head. I called Smartpak and they were wonderful. Sent out a Medium immediately via 2 day express shipping at no charge and voila; it fits perfectly. Smartpak also emailed me a free Return Shipping label to send back the Large and they refunded my money in full for the Large. I am totally happy with the helmet and Smartpak yet again. You can't get better service and I really like the helmet!

Great helmet but...
The Tipperary T Series T2 is a very nice, albeit overpriced, helmet. It's comfortable, secure, well-made and well-ventilated. However, the IRH ATR helmet fit me better and was $130 LESS.
If I were competing or jumping, I would have purchased the Tipperary T Series T2 but as a fairly laid-back trail rider, the IRH ATR was the better choice.

Hard to Fit
I was very excited about this helmet - its a great price and has a good look to it - plus tipperary is known for their safety. Being a new product it's not available in tack stores (around where I live) to try on first so I went ahead and ordered it - being the unusual SML sizing chart was different, but I followed it to a note, measuring exactly. The helmet came quickly, and looked AMAZING! I loved it! Sadly it was not so comfortable for me - it was very tight with a lot of pressure directly over my temples, within 10 minutes of wearing it I had a headache, I'm afraid the large would just not fit and ruin the purpose of having a helmet, so alas I'm still helmet shopping! May fit more of the "oval" shaped heads rather than round with LOTS of hair such as myself!
